Can still get to the red hill cabin but access past to the summit cabin closed. Access to the summit cabin could be open if going up through state land.
Im guessing you mean the most recent lava flow? No, access to the red hill cabin is from Highway 11. Closures happening randomly and you need a permit from the backcountry office located in the park. You can check water level at the cabin there and make sure there is availability. It is the only location for water other than the summit cabin.
That is where we started from en-route to the red hill summit cabin. Thats as far as you can go until the trail gets re-opened. Make sure the road is open. Right now its bicycle and ped traffic only.

No, that was on our hike a few months prior to the eruption.
