@@hikeart I posted a Mauna Loa video called “Mauna Loa Madness”. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park gave me permission to go forward with our a fundraiser called “I Lina Lilo” (High Above the Floating Clouds”. We Asked for donations from the community that went directly to our American Cancer Society Hilo unit. Over 5 years of this fundraiser we were blessed to receive $25,000 in all. You will see the first group at the Mauna Loa summit cabin and another group who met us at the Pu’u ‘Ula (Red Hill) cabin. The rest of the video includes 4 hikers just having lunch on a day hike up to what we named the “Savanna Tree” maybe at 8,000 ft.? Today there are no more ‘Ohi’a Lehua flowers. I wonder if it’s some kind invasive insect. I created the video from one of my handmade folded cards using washi paper and I added pictures that served its purpose. The music I used is from a rendition called Stairway to Heaven that was led by Heart. I hope its is ok to feature the video on UA-cam? Enough talk. If you see the video, I hope you like it. Aloha, Marcy
It's the scale of the landscape that got to me. This is not a small volcanic island, Mauna Loa is the largest shield volcano on the planet, exemplifying the massive nature of the part of the mountain hidden under the sea. It really does feel otherworldly
I have hiked up and down Mauna Loa nearly 50 times. I’ve seen many videos taken by hikers, however, your video is by far the best I’ve ever seen! Thank you for sharing. Aloha
Best Mauna Loa video ever. Made my day! Great job.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I think you dropped your keys at the bottom of the mountain 😫

I did this hike in 1969, the brand new boots I wore were shredded by the time we got back to the car.
Great footage! Where did you guys camp out? If yall did at all. Looking to make this trip

If only The Aeronauts could see you now! Those two went 23,000 feet in 1862! Imagine what they would think if they saw you going past 30,000! Yikes!
