Superb stuff, as always, and you really are starting to spoil us now, what with this and the equally rare Grimsby to Immingham. Love your cabrides - carry on, please.
Great video 👍 grew up in tickhill and used to watch the trains almost every night in summer... Mostly coal. Shame there is no footage of the harworth colliery line.. used to spend a lot of time watching trains on that line in the 80's/90's
I used to sign this line from the other end, Kirk Sandall Jc. as far as Maltby Colliery and the branches from St. Catherines Jc. to Yorkshire Main Colliery and Low Ellers Jc. to Potteric Carr Jc. Also Markham Main Colliery. In those days the maximum line speed was 25 mph and the line was signalled by Electric Token Block except the double track section between Low Ellers Jc. to St.Catherines Jc. which was Absolute Block and the branch to Yorkshire Main Colliery from Black Carr West Jc. which was Staff and Ticket Block.
It’s still incredibly slow is the South Yorkshire Joint line. Last time I did it on a railtour, 2009 I think, it was down to a snail pace at times. Thought this line might’ve been reopened to passengers by now with new stations at Anston, Maltby and Tickhill.
My first trip anywhere was in 1951, Rotherham to Donny. I was shaking with excitement at the prospect. Travelled a bit more since then.

Glad you enjoyed it
Former passenger line which not many people will see anymore, except here thanks to another nice video.

Another terrific video. Thanks so much for providing it to us.
You bet!

Nice journey,Love the fields of canola,Cheer's bob.
Glad you enjoyed it
I new of this lines existence but I never went over it . Interesting to watch this video. What is the current frequency of trains over it these days?
Nice footage and some nice videos on your channel. New subscriber👍🏼
Thanks for the sub!
At 11:35 whats the thing on the left surounded byt the spikey fence?
Regarding the IPort, it's funny how they can make "Mowhere" into "Everywhere". Seemingly, all it takes is plenty of money.
great video and footage. Nicely done.big thumbs from me and new supporter here
Thanks for the sub!

This is the old South Yorkshire Joint (Great Central, Great Northern, Lancashire & Yorkshire, Midland and North Eastern Railways).
Excellent cab ride.
thank you v much...
Thank you to all concerned Stay Safe.
Seems to alternate between scenic beauty and an old set from a Doctor Who episode!
What class of train
class zero. Light engine.
Had a reputation for being a bit of ‘bomb alley’ did the South York’s Joint in the past
It certainly did in the deep cutting around White city.
@@RailMart better these days or no?
Not hard to self-isolate on that line!
Love your cab ride videos. I have a question, why are some routes classed as freight only and does that mean they are never used for passenger trains?
Exactly that. No scheduled Passenger trains over them.
Will the line be busier with the new i-port?
Hard to believe semaphores are still used there
A long distance without stations.
That's right! But it is a Freight only line.
You stopped it right at the interesting bit!
I will publish St Caths to Kirk Sandall at some point.
@@RailMart Oh right. It went that way did it. I was assuming it went to Doncaster.
@@RailMart once
