Also, "Walk on By" became an R&B hit for Isaac Hayes not once but twice when it was re-released on the "Dead Presidents" soundtrack. I've always liked Isaac version better anyway, but the point is the writer got paid and kept it moving. Plus, if Keri handled her affairs properly she will continue to get paid everytime a song she writes gets re-released/remade so our generation of artist need to take note from the legends I mentioned.
Wow - I had to check out the remix song and this interview to confirm that Keri really is trying to diss true PERFORMERS. I was hoping it was just a rumor.
Yeah she's been "putting people on" writing wise, but she needs to be taking notes from those who have hit the stage long before she has. I've seen Keri perform live, and she's definitely had LOTS of room to grow to put it politely.

I pop on topics like this periodically to really see how much people idolize other people that have no affect or bearing on their life especially entertainers the most vain human beings in the world. I read through all of theses posts man and my heart hurts that there are people arguing and name calling over this subject everyone on here is better than that man. Think people who designs video shoots, who takes these aspiring stars and turns them into idols tells them what to wear, what to say in interviews. Look at the trends everyone is trying to keep up with everyone else therfore no one is original anymore. Let one artist change their hairstyles and watch five more end up with the same doo like it was original ie. Usher, Trey songz. It's like someone handed out a memo and said OK let's do the disheveled R&B singer look this year hair partly combed and unkempt beard. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of all of these singers music. I just hate the machine that is running the industry now it's just spitting out one clone after another after another and people are not even noticing.
I find it interesting that she says its obvious it wasn't meant to be released because the remix leaked 3months after the original release. That's not a good definitive answer to me. To me that shows that her camp probably leaked it around this time because the single wasn't at #1 and they wanted to keep the buzz going.

If she wasn't referring to specific artists then the lyrics, "Go 'head and tell these folks how I done been writing your songs, I been puttin' you on, just check the credits, ho..." would not be in there. That was a personal attack on someone she feels partially responsible for the success of, but she isn't getting the credit she feels she's owed. I know that she is just backtracking and trying to keep peace, but I wish she would just say that she meant this towards particular artists. If you are going to call them out, call them all the way out. Don't church it up now. I guess she was afraid of it doing exactly what it did to her career. Honestly, I think this is her best track though, regardless of who it's about. I just like lyrics that call people out on their bs... like the diss track Star did on the show, Star, "There For You Bitches," while it was fictional, she called out everyone by name and wrongdoing.
