It was never a happy song for me, you can feel the crushing melancholy of it even without understanding the language.

Hirasawa wrote this song in response to the war in Iraq and how it affected children. I listened to this crying thinking about how Biden is doing the same thing to those children at the border. It was after all him and Obama that built those cages.
