Great videos - keep up the good work. The only downside so far with using a sliding bench trainer is that I've sprouted a mustache and copious amounts of chest hair. Oh well, no harm in morphing into Chuck - he's a pretty impressive role model.
I also forgot again. 13. a MINI TRAMPOLINE or even an indoor kiddie trampoline with safety net enclosure. Big outdoor versions aren't even worth the risk period after watching a documentary from Inside Edition. If you really want gymnastics at home I suggest a pair of DIP BARS with safety connector included.
And 14. TRX suspension trainer. Mostly for lat pulldowns and many other exercises. Can install at your own door easily. And 15. SWISS BALL. For Pilates and yoga only.
Excelent videos. Had a Bayou fitness total trainer for several years but just replaced with a total gym fit. QVC had them for half price. A lot smoother than the Total trainer. I would like to see some recommendations for us 65+

Love it Kieth. Thanks for all the information. You're reminding me I need to get another heavy bag. I also need to get back into martial arts. Great tips / points all around.
I used the whey protein powder and made pancakes with it. And I got really huge, but the down fall is that my creatinine level went up. I eat so much during the day, but my doctor told me my metabolism will prevent me from gaining weight no matter how much I eat. Now a year later, I'm getting back into working out and eating good but without the protein powder. It's been a week so far. And I'm really trying to gain weight. I don't want to be a bodybuilder, I want to be a powerlifter. So I need the gut and weight and Mike is giving me some really good workout tips.
Mike you have great videos, I was wondering if you has any more HIIT workouts for the Total gym? I love your other two videos on HIIT but would like something different. Anyway keep up the good work!
Yes, I can definitely add some more. I don't know if you saw my workout poster video, but in that video I talk about how that original poster / format is a great way to create HIIT workouts. I was originally going to call it a HIIT poster.
This is an awesome video, and just what I was looking for. I am going to be using this to try to put on a bit of muscle for sure. I do have a question about the supplements. I am planning on using whey protein powder + creatine powder, but I was hopping you could comment on how I plan to use it. I exercise 4 days a week (2 upper body, 2 lower body) in the morning BEFORE breakfast. I was planning on using the supplements at breakfast after my workouts. I was also going to use the supplements on my off days at breakfast as well. Is this a good schedule?
Thanks Allan great comments / questions. For creatine, a regular monohydrate form used daily for 2-5grams is ideal. It doesn't matter what time of the day you take it but it will take about a week to build up in your system. I just mix mine in my big morning coffee mug as I'm continually stirring it . Some find that it digests better when it fully mixes in the liquid, so I find the heat from the coffee helps it dissolve. If you workout in the morning it would be best to have the protein supplement immediately after your workout considering you're fasted. Then after that, just use the protein supplement to supplement your diet. If you find it's easier to use it to hit your total numbers then you can supplement more throughout the day. I personally use a whey protein supplement daily regardless if I worked out or not that day.
@@hybridresistance Awesome! Thanks so much for your reply and for all your videos I have been watching for just over a year now. Having bought my Total Gym a year ago, inspired by your videos, and following your work out ideas, I have lost 40 lbs and 5 inches around my gut. Time to build some muscle!
HI Jacob, check out this video if you haven't ua-cam.com/video/PVIopw8Hpzc/v-deo.html as it will go over my main summaries of exercises that I like. Cardio really is up to you and your recovery. Mass at the end of the day is going to be a combination of higher nutrition and progressive overload of your muscles over with adequate recovery.
The ideal or fastest way to for pure strength would be some simple linear progression template (such as "Starting Strength") with some barbells and weights. With that said, while you won't get maximally strong, you will gain some strength if you continue to stress your muscles and be consistent with something like this
mikes woke up everyone to this machine,no disrespect to chuck norris, but as a bodybuilder/weightlifter mike is a great example how this trainer build muscle, burn fat, shape and cut,im a bodybuilder whos been workingout 40 years so i know by using the machine,i found my 1800 model in the trash with all attachments thats worth about 400 bucks😂😂😂😂😂
Nobody can tell me that you can not built muscle with the Total Gym. You can even challenge bodybuilders. Put the Total Gym at the highest level and then tell him to do pull ups. First he will do it with ease and then tell him that the first set was only the warm up. Now he should do the pull ups with one arm. The same with Military presses and i know he will have a hard strength workout like in the gym. 60% of bodyweight with one arm = 120% resistance with both arms. Thats like a strong guy with the weight of 100 Kg (220 pounds) do pull ups with 20 Kg (44 pounds) extra weight. And thats even without putting extra weight on the Total Gym.
Your training knowledge is incredible many thanks for sharing so much priceless information.
Thanks Lou. Always appreciate the comments and continued viewing.
Your videos continue to help me so much Mike! Thank you!
Thanks Mike as always. Hope all is well with you.
I've said it before but, with the Total Gym I have put on serious muscle and people are shocked.
I love it. People can't or they just won't believe that results can come from these simplistic machines.
Awesome info as always Mike!
Thanks again for watching. I got you down as one of my early subscribers.
Your message is clear, although, its a nice beginning! Semper Fi

hey Mike, how many exercises for Push, Pull and Single Joint? Just pick one? or at least 2? thanks.
I'd say two are perfect, but just choose the ones (and number of sets) that you're feeling that day.

Thank you again Elad for all these very positive comments. The 1800 model is a great one for sure and still holds up after all these years.
