I don't know when I first heard this song but my Daddy passed away in 2005 and this song has help me through a lot of rough days. I'm a huge Daddy's girl. My Daddy's passing was sudden, tragic and I was the person who found him. It was hard having to be the one to tell his parents that he was gone. I was 26 at the time and my sons were 5 & 2. It has been difficult knowing that my kids missed out on personally knowing him. He was in law enforcment and was a wonderful man. He was a Christian and I know that I'm gonna see him again but my heart still aches to have him here with me. The dark days are hard, sad and have left me feeling so alone at times but this song gave me such comfort. I can just stop and talk to God. He loves me. He knows my heart, my wishes, my hurt and my reasoning. There's not a person on this earth that would be able to understand me better than him. How wonderful, loving and, just, special is that? I've sang this as a solo since my Daddy's passing. I'm not even almost as good a Jaci Velasquez but I try. I hope that my Daddy can look down and be proud of me and I hope that each person who hears this song can experience the comfort that it has given me.
