BT Broadband Users Beware: 2 Huge Reasons to Avoid BT Mail

⭐⭐ BT Broadband is the worst Email Service Provider possible, constantly locked out of accounts when abroad, the interface is horrendous, and you have to pay monthly to keep your email addresses when you leave. You can't even drop things into Spam for them then to automatically go there going forward. Do not use BT Email is my advice, it will cost you untold heartache, time and MONEY. On top of this, the Email service never recovered from when they dumped Yahoo (as the back-office provider of the service)
By all means, use them as a broadband provider (although they are expensive, and you can get faster speeds in other ways).

Update: Having spent numerous hours on the phone to BT whilst abroad, and it all happening again, continuously, in Bali in August And Vietnam in Jan '24, I think I can vouch for the fact that even they admit that it is an issue with their filters. If any BT Fanboys that are commenting on this not being the case, perhaps you can talk to your contacts there and get them to resolve the issue that definitely affects BT Mail users, I'm always happy to help, especially as I'm tied into paying for the privilege of not being able to access the emails in the first place. Just saying.....

Thanks for this. I’m currently with BT and I don’t have any problems accessing my email when I’m overseas….your issues are related (I think) because you switched from them and it’s not now seamless. I came across your video because I’m thinking of moving from BT and was wondering how my email address would be affected. Thanks for that. Yes, they make it really hard to switch if you want to keep your BT addresses. £7.99 a month so you can use them in Outlook as well. I only moved because I went over to mobile data because it was faster, otherwise I'd still be with them as like you said, a lot of hassle. 👍🏻😁

ive had mine about a year now, and firstly they installed the wrong broadband for the package i chose. i went for fibre optic and they installed basic, so i had to wait 6 months for them to look into it, then they eventually started doing work to install fibre optic which took another 3 months of open reach and bt coming back and forth, digging up my garden to send wires up to my house. i've ran tests since having the fibre installed (today) & i'm getting roughly between 0.6mb - 1mb more than what i was getting on basic broadband. BT are the shittest broadband providers in the country. i'll be changing providers as soon as i can.

@@VNOMALII In the end I just went with Vodaphone on a mobile Data contract. Only trouble with that is when the mast goes down, I lose everything. With it though and cheaper to.

Last week, trying to send one email, BT lost it 3 times. Wasn't in Drafts, wasn't in Sent emails. Just gone without a trace.

I've stopped using the webmail completely now because it is so bad especially since the last update a few months ago. I have to do everything through outlook now and pay £7.50 a month for the privilege. If anybody is reading this, stay away from BT Mail......

I have five BT email accounts and every time I'm abroad (long haul), if I access them, they will get locked at some point and then have to be reset. I've spent hours on the phone to BT and the best they can say is that it's because I access Hotel Wi-Fi. The main issue though is, if you do leave, you have to pay £90 per year for the privaledge of having full access to email addresses you have used for over 30 years.....

@@CloughReviews It is in the terms and conditions you read and agreed to, i do not see what the problem is with sending your contacts an email stating you have changed ISP and your new email address is ...... What is so difficult?
Everyone else does that the same way as they do for phone numbers or when they move house.
Wait until you find out you need to send the WiFi router back if you leave as it is NOT yours, it belongs to BT !!!!
