One of the things that always makes me laugh about this song is that Gattopanceri666 (the bassist) has a PhD in astrophysics and was a postdoc researcher for a few years before going full-time with Nanowar.
All the members of the group have been friends for a long time and have built dual careers. For example, the guitarist is an electronics engineer or computer engineer.... I don't remember. Nanowar however have been around for 20 years, and at one of their concerts in Düsseldorf I had a chat with them and they are very humble people. A friend of mine reminded the guitarist of a gig of theirs in a club near Turin 17 18 years ago.... And the guitarist remembered the club because they used to play there a lot and said 'we used to suck, now we just suck less, but thanks for coming to see us again'. Great talk...
I'm just going to say, this song is not one of my favourites to listen to/watch online, but it's absolutely made for their live show, with the crowd interaction. Listening to it beforehand is not essential to the experience if you're short of time!
Since you love sad songs, Nanowar has old love song And Then I Noticed That She Was a Gargoyle. It was the first thing I've ever seen of them and comes from the same album as Uranus - Stairway to Valhalla.
The details in their songs always blow my mind. The dancers are all wearing Sailor Uranus costumes (not Sailor Moon!) and when you check out the end credits you see the girls names and that their figures are all named like the moons of the planet Uranus. And you notice that only if you read the credits!
I call Nanowar of Steel my nerd-core band as so often the lyrics are multilayered plus things going on in the background that are funny as hell. Have you seen / heard “Pasadena 1994“ which features Joakim Brodén from Sabaton? When the film Airplane came out in the early 1980s I was in college so my friends and I went to the cinema and it was one where there wasn't a chucking out policy so we stayed and watched the same film FOUR times in a row. We laughed every time but at jokes what we'd missed the first, second or third time often because we were laughing so much at other jokes and references. Nanowar of Steel are like that in musical terms.
@@elvwood Though a little knowledge of Association Football called by North Americans soccer and by the rest of the world soccer does help. I would go for "The Last Stand" as the Sabaton song - because of the reference to "Castel Sant'Angelo" in the Sabaton song LOL
They are just too funny and the creativity is beyond everything. I pretty much appreciate that they have captions on their videos. They have a song in two different versions, a German (with German captions) and an Italian one (with Italian captions): Der Fluch des Käpt'n Iglo / La Maledizione di Capitan Findus (The Curse of Captain Birdseye). There are those optional English UA-cam subtitles (actual ones, not the auto-generated) but still the audacity! By the way, Captain Birdseye/ Findus/ Iglo is an advertising mascot for frozen fish products, most prominent fish sticks. Is there a chance for another Amaranthe reaction previous for you seeing them in concert? Maybe Boom!1? For another "they can't get away with this" video, try Berzerkermode by Feuerschwanz, it's partly in English and partly in German but the video is self-explanatory. ;)
I don't know if it has been said already, but the band is "just" they're side-project. They all have actual full time jobs. Nice catch on sailor Uranus (not many get the reference 😮) and the song features Steel panther's Michael STAR.
Some people aren't very good at bed side manners, others don't even know they exist! However, be it love or hate, at least they care enough to comment. That's a win in my book. Have a great weekend man!

You are in the Nanowar pithole now. You are one of us. Welcome. :D From my home city of Rome, Italy :D La Polenta Taragnarock is an AWESOME tune. turn on subtitles ;) Also "And Then I Noticed She was a Gargoyle", just awesome.
Thought of another recommendation. 😅 "Under Grey Skies" by Kamelot featuring Charlotte Wessels, preferably the live version. It's such a beautiful song.
Just love a reaction where the reactor is speechless at the end of a song, and that is because they are just trying to hold back their laughter 🤪. Great reaction to such a talented and amusing band. Looking forward to your reaction to ‘Heavy Metal Kibbles’ - Nanowar’s song about cat food done in a Judas Priest vibe. Totally epic. Keep up the great work 🇦🇺🤘
Love how they incorporated the beegees and that aquarius tune too.... damn, I really hope these guys keep on going. I found em by accident, wanted to hear some manowar, got Nanowar..... funniest and best ty[o typo..... ever. Effing fun
It's particularly appropriate to mention this now because of your DragonForce comment and also the _Stayin'_ _Alive_ bit: when I saw them they were supporting Tragedy, a metal Bee Gees tribute band, and it's actually the first time I went to a concert for the support act! As for lyrics, don't worry about it - I often don't pay close attention to the lyrics myself for several listens. You aren't going to take everything in on first listen anyway. Just keep on feeling the music!
The singers in this band are sooooooo freaking good and flexible in their styles... The "bigger" guy is like ozzy osbourne but actually can sing properly.
Damn, Sir. My partner was a [beep] today, but you made my day. I'm happy that I left this reaction on later. Haters always hate. So no worry about it. If I good remember members of Nanowar are scientists and nerds, music is there side work. They are great musician and can kill with lyric and music video production. My Friends was at theirs concert and it was great experience. I hope I'll able to see them when they come to my country.
Nanowar of Steel are the musical equivalent of the parrot in the 'raven and parrot go to college' story about bird intelligence: really smart playing at being dumb. Imagine being the smartest, most serious bird going (a raven). You finally get to bird college, sit down in a lecture, and start taking notes. You look over and there's a guy in a clown costume (a parrot) using his foot to write his notes with a sparkly ink pen. He's simply not treating any of this with the gravity and seriousness it deserves! And, infuriatingly, his notes are really good.
I'd put a link here to the c.v. of the founder and writer of the band which was started as just a hobby, however, YT will likely suppress it though. Suffice to say that Edoardo Carlesi has a PhD and 9 degrees as far as I can see, has written a host of scientific papers and speaks 11 languages. Google his name and read the c.v.
I loved seeing you lose it with laughter during the NOS vids. That tells me right there that you got the jokes enough to appreciate the art. You do you Boo: no hate here.
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but the sailor scouts were actually Sailor Uranus from Sailor Moon. A few liabilities taken to avoid copyright, but they're all sailor Uranus.
Speaking of yet another banger of theirs check out "Metal Boomer Battalion". Methinks it is a gold-plated middle finger to the 'Metal' 'Journalist' crowd.
@@MrDanilop45Yeah, the lyrics for Sneeztem Of A Yawn just really speak to you. It's a very profound song, that unfortunately will never be allowed to be performed live.

But Monty Python had a sketch about pellagra back in the 70s, I think you can still find it here on yt. I bet NoS knew that one. :D
