Oh… SO many!!! My favorites are the super short cases where JJ basically brings them on saying “that’s not a case. Goodbye” and then the plaintiff just looks stunned. One of the shortest was this 20yo girl tripped over a fort her roommate made in her living room in the dark and she wants the roommate to pay the medical bills. JJ said “you have no case. Goodbye”. About two minutes tops. 😂😂😂

The one where the Plaintiff always leaves keys in her car and lets her son a his friend listen to music in the car. They took off in the car and the defendant’s daughter Pennyann died. The plaintiff was sueing the defendant over car damage caused by Pennyann who died. The plaintiff lost and the defendant won the counter suit because the plaintiff left the keys in the car which made it available to drive. Judge Judy even made a comment that the plaintiff’s son would probably find himself in jail someday. She was correct.

An episode I have never seen. A former employer of mine said she and her husband were sued for some minor, unintentional damage to a neighbor's property. She told me they were strongly encouraged to interrupt the judge prior to appearing in front of her. I stated, "Please tell me you did not do that. They say that to up the drama and better ratings. Never disrespect a judge." Her response, "Well they said to." Been trying to find that episode for more than 2 decades. So definitely stuck in my head. SMH

The one that lives with me forever and was the quickest one as well, was the case when two dog owners claimed that another lady had purchased their lost dog from an unscrupulous seller and refused to return him. Judge Judy demanded that the defendants bring in the dog and let it loose. The dog excitedly ran to its real owner and the case was quickly closed. I will forever love that moment. I was surprised it wasn't on this list.

That one and the one where a woman was suing the mother of a girl who died in a car accident. It was terrible!

There was one episode where a kid stole something and got away with it, and the only witness was a friend of his. The friend told and he was arrested. When he was on the show, he kept mentioning the fact that his friend had snitched on him. Apparently he believed that his friend had done worse by telling on him and that he should go free and the friend should be punished for telling. 4:15 Judge Judy has her Producers watching the litigants from the time they arrive. She's dismissed several cases because it's clear the litigants went out partying or had dinner together the night before. @@sneakypenguin2861 I clearly said at the last sentence it’s not the owners fault. So I didn’t blame anyone. I just said I could understand being annoyed. She's delusional and a failed mother. If you want to go on a trip then it's your responsibility to organise the trip.

Judy wanted to see the cover, the plaintiff was suddenly demure. Judy said "Please Sir, I am over twenty-one, I would like to see it." Then when seeing it she could barely suppress a laugh.
Ultimately, the contract barring payment for inability to perform was considered legit, but plaintiff was entitled to compensation for use of his picture.

I rarely disagree with her judgement, but the toilet one, didn't hear the full story, so I don't know the circumstances of it breaking, but if you're a heavy person, and you sat on someone's toilet and broke it, I feel like even if not the full amount, some compensation is fair, even if it was unintentional. I don't know where judy buys her toilets but I've never had one break or known anyone that has other than public vandalism, they need replacing from stains and wear and design, not actually breaking. I'd certainly expect to help replace it if I were in that situation.

I loved the one where 2 people were trying to say they owned a dog. The dog was brought in the courtroom. The man who claimed he owned him called his name and got him excited. Judy said put the dog down, and he ran right to his owner. Seconds flat that verdict.

  • @PelagicDream83

The fact that the man was happy with the new dog tells me he didn’t want the old dog badly enough anyway and that dog belonged with the defendant. Remarkably kind and generous of JJ to give a new dog to the plaintiff to make it easier on everyone, she’s under no obligation to do anything like that.

I'm so used to seeing divorced couples trying to give up the dog because neither wants the responsibility. It is nice to see people fighting to keep the dog.

The Judge Judy case that lives in my head is when a mom is suing another mom for her son’s medical bills after the defendant’s daughter wrecked the plaintiff’s car. The daughter died in the crash while the plaintiff’s son “looks like he hasn’t missed a meal” in Judge Judy’s words. She awarded the defendant’s counter claim instead.

I remember one case where the defendant's tween kids stole a neighbor girls toy car and they flat out not only admit it but also admitted "Yeah we break into locked rooms all the time". On TV. And their mom was like "So what if they did?"

A friend of mine in Connecticut processes deer. When there's a deer vs vehicle the local PD brings him the deer and he processes it for free. Most of the meat goes to a charity that feeds the poor and the rest goes to a food bank. Part of his regular fee is one pound of ground venison is donated.

In the UK you cant hit a deer / rabbit etc and pick it up, but any car behind you can. Loads of roadkill in the countryside is picked up and eaten, its fairly normal haha

Never in my life would I sue my friend over a broken toilet… esp if she is overweight like this and admitted to hearing it crack when she was sitting on it. That’s clearly an accident. How dare her humiliate her “friend” by not only taking her to court over this- but taking her to court on NATIONAL TV😡
