Quick mention: I think the coach is not trying to increase kagamis vertical jump by making him run on the sand but the endurance of kagamis legs. Kagami has shown to overwork is legs in the past and was quite injury prone. Thats why he coach is trying to make his legs more resilient

I personally like that they are practicing with Shutoku. It can have incredible value practicing with someone who is that good and advanced. We should strive to really see the opportunity and the luxury in something like this, instead of being overwhelmed by fear and insecurity. The immense growth this can bring was seen in Haikyuu as well.

Another great reaction! The coach trains the players on how to play, the players train the coach on how to cook!

enjoyed your reaction a lot, definitely one of the funniest episode. btw, there’s an ova episode 22.5 after episode 22. ova episodes in knb are quite important to the main plot since they provide detailed perspective, hope you will react to it

hi coach, wanted to point out another detail the anime does very well, but which can be easily missed: the use of the japanese language.
    1. kagami's japanese is a bit tentative, like the way he belatedly adds "desu" at the end of his sentences because he forgot to. it's a nod to him having spent his childhood outside of japan.
    2. midorima speaks very formally, very much like his character. another character will pop up down the line who speaks very informally, even when he is expected to use formal language. an abrasive character important to kise's development speaks very rudely, addressing his seniors without the proper formality.
    3. this is important down the line; in japanese, you address people by their first names if you are family, friends or in general have a more intimate relationship with. in more formal settings, with people whom you would expect to have some social distance with, you would address them using their last names. down the line, it makes a difference when someone addresses kuroko as tetsuya, which is the second part of his name.
understanding these helps character development, and makes some of the big moments in the anime very very satisfying.

Coach, this anime isn't my favorite, but your reactions are priceless, they make so much better (and funnier) to follow the story! First time I saw that food scene, I laughed a lot. 😂 The sports insights are great as well, extremely well detailed and useful.
Also, Tokyo Treat and Sakura Co, please, sponsor this channel forever, Lunch Time Crunch Time is amazing.

@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000they thought he was the coach at first before Riko was shown to be the coach lol you dont often see female coaches in anime or even in real life of men teams, so i always thought it was cool of KnB to make her the coach. And be a good one and a good character in her own right.

Yay, another coach reaction! They are the highlight of my week 🥰
I know we still have maaany seasons ahead of us, before you'll start a new sries coach, but once you'll be looking for another anime to watch, maybe you could consider either "Keep your hands off eizouken!" or "Run with the wind"? The first one is about a higschoolers starting a club to create animated movies and is incredibly charming in its portrayal of creativity and imagination. I think yu would really appreciate the effort put in the illustrations and animation there! The second one is sport anime about running which takes place at an university instead of highschool and is much more grounded and aimed at an older audience than "Haikyuu!" and KNB. I love it's realistic approach to hard work, talent and goals, with its main theme being searching for the "meaning" of running, what does it mean for the characters and why they keep on doing it.

Coach Donny, I'm a Brazilian fan and I love your videos, I watched all your Haikyuu series! One anime I would love to watch you react is Hajime No Ippo is a anime about boxing, I don't know if it's your type of sports, but it's a great anime that talk about how sports can change your life, how you can achieve your goals if you work hard and never give up, has some of the most incredible animations I've ever seen and the fights are intense and hyped haha, anyway love your videos and thank you so much for your great content ❤️

I know our Coach is making good points in the animation here and there and all that but I have one question.... HOW IN THE HECK DID THEY FIT IN RIKO'S DAD'S SEDAN CAR?! I mean normally they can't but I'm guessing they had to sit on each other's laps just to fit there😂 Me and my whole band were sorta doing the same during gigs when I was driving a Toyota Corola since we wouldn't normally fit there(well I have 2 bands so there were nine of us)

Ok it's actually starting to piss me off how much he interrupts the reaction to talk about the animation. I don't know what kind of experience he has in animation, but he's mostly pointing out what we all already know: This is stiff, this is unrealistic, this is awkward. That's what most first season TV anime are like, we know it, we accept it, and we move on with our lives. You advertise yourself as a coach so stop pretending to be a professional animator for these reactions! At least that is what I would say if I had any power in the decision, imma just stop watching instead because this is so annoying.
