I agree. Pete is so good at talking, that is really all his videos need to be. Just him, talking about his feelings about games. That is where he is at his strongest, in my opinion.
30-50 games that you will actually play each console generation is a healthy way to collect (especially if you wait for the $20 price point), and it can lead to a pretty cool collection of top-shelf games over time.
It never makes sense that most collectors exceed 50 or more games ; and then he or she never actually plays all say 70 or 100 games . Collect games that contain high-replay value, quality-titles, and games that are worth the money. And yes 30-50 games is a healthy library than say 440 games.
I want to collect EVERY NES game out there. That was my goal before I got married, now I own all of them digitally. Lol Rather have physical copies but at this point it's nearly impossible for me.
Collecting retro games, period, died out for me years ago. But most recently I gave up my quest for a complete US Dreamcast library. I have all the games that I actually love playing. There's absolutely no reason for me to have the ones I'm never going to enjoy.

Glad to see more people are starting to turn on Limited Run Games. They've oversaturated the hell out of the niche physical game market and love exploiting people's fear of missing out. They're at least handling the Switch better than the Vita, but I tapped out awhile ago. The last straw for me was when they were charging obscene amounts for Star Wars repro carts of $5 games packed with a bunch of collectors junk.
I felt so burned on the quality of those Star Wars repro cart CEs they made. They were the cheapest quality and very shoddy quality control. I think the quality of their CEs has tanked over the last year from my personal experience with them.
i just use my modded psvita to play whatever i want and don’t really care about physical copies. im technically collecting but generally only buy what i want to play. i bought a ton of games from jjgames and lukiegames but usually bought disc only just so i could play it
So happy to see more activity from your UA-cam channel again! I was really hooked when you used to upload very frequently a few years ago. Always found your videos about collecting very interesting. Good luck with your UA-cam and Twitch channel this year as well :)
Ah man this was so relatable to me to watch, especially the part where you were talking about Vita collecting those limited releases really killed it for me too. Been missing streams lately because I have been busy with irl stuff so seeing new UA-cam video's is a nice treat.
I made a video a while back about why I sold my entire collection. I was also an impulsive collector like you, and it got to the point where I hadn’t played over 50% of the games on my shelves. It was gut wrenching, but it was nice to start over with games I actually play and enjoy.
I’ve given up on collecting CIB for anything where the original came in a cardboard box. Which makes me sad, but I missed the opportunity. At least loose carts can still be played!!
I found that over time, collecting games made me value each game less and less. I kept buying games and playing them for a few hours, only to drop them for whatever else catches my eye. I've started limiting my purchases as of late and setting rules. For instance, if I get a game, I need to either make a goal out of completing it, or get to a point where I have a good reason not to finish the game.
Let's not compare Atlus Games to shit companies like LRG and Super Rare Games (yes, there is a company like that). Atlus is a small company that actually translates quirky, weird games you would normally *NEVER* see in NA. However, because these games are weird Atlus knows they won't sell like hotcakes compared to the Uncharted, CoDs, and Mass Effects. Hence why production for Atlus games is so low, it isn't to create rarity. if anything, LRG is a huge offender of that putting out random numbers of a game just to market it as "rare". Plus, the artwork and time Atlus puts into their games makes owning them worth it.
I'm just glad that the really expensive games are getting reproductions so I can at least add some sort of physical cart to my collection for games I love
There's almost no point to physical collecting anymore. They never have the patches, updates, DLC, etc. You basically own the equivalent of an unfinished, beta, game. On top of that, some PS4 games don't even have a platinum trophy, which is like literally releasing an unfinished PS4 game. When I buy a PS4 game. I expect it to be complete (no DLC required), polished (no day 1 patch required), and I expect it to have bronze, silver, gold, AND a platinum trophy. Sadly, that's rare these days.
I find it really quite heartening that so many people are thinking for themselves and yet are on the same page about this ongoing issue. I really hope that these Limited Runs don't represent the future of physical collecting. It really does feel like the hobby has been hijacked by these opportunistic companies determined to exploit the collector's mindset. The fun has been taken out of it. The collector no longer really requires any specific knowledge, it is now merely a question of buying what these limited companies tell you to buy and when they tell you to buy it. It's a horrible practice and business model of artificial rarity, as opposed to the more natural occurring rarity which would occur gradually over a period of time. And not a legitimate collecting model that I recognise. What is worse is that some of these companies actually feel that they are the heroes, doing us all a great favour, out of the kindness of their hearts, releasing dozens of e-shop type games physically per month, which are mostly often poor psuedo ironic 'retro' games. And then there are those comapnies who have the nerve to claim to be archivists of games by giving games physicality. Except of course they frequently re-release games that already exist physically and have done for years, Psychonauts etc, or they will even just produce 'repro's' of games, Star Wars etc. That is not 'preservation', it's just a cynical and hypocritical form of cashing in, exploiting and ultimately betraying the hobby and the collectors.
My collection is now, finally narrowed down to just the GBA, DS, 3DS and Switch. I've been collecting for over 20 years now, so the backlog for a lot of my older systems was just getting to be overwhelming. I had to cut it down to the systems that I tend to play the most, and that's mostly Nintendo handhelds, nowadays. I just cut the rest of the collection down to a few nostalgic favorites, and I'll keep the systems so I can still toss in some of the classics👍
I agree with the Saturn stuff. It’s even gotten so bad that Japanese import rpgs are even getting expensive. They used to be the most dirt cheap because you needed to know Japanese to play them but now people who aren’t even able to play the game they just bought will pay like $40.
stopped collecting back when the ps4 just came out..felt like I already achieved my goal of collecting on the 360/ps3/wii/psp/etc. now I no longer have my collection( since I realize its just collecting dust and feel bad that all those games will never going to be played again) nowadays I just rent/buy(cheaply on PC) them that interest me and move on. I honestly am soo done with the toxic collection aspect of people upping the price...another reason why I lost interest in collecting is because Nintendo's Super Smash Wii U release with the Wii u GameCube port connection being sold out for its only purpose to be resale for higher margin is what got me out of it
All retro games shot up and became significantly more rare to find complete in Australia. I’m only picking up things that are reasonably priced and reasonable condition not actively seeking to complete anything just happy to have games that I loved. Good to see your back !!
I’m going through the same collecting growing pains. Limited companies although have great releases I no longer try and get each one. Just keep it to games I play
I'm still collecting for 360, ps3 and Wii. And It would probably take me a lifetime to complete all of the gems I've collected. Haha Just too many games too little time I guess :(
I have the same issue. For some reason I need the box and manual. I frown on my games that are not complete. Especially rpg’s. I need the game, manual, and box or I’m not even turning it on. Games like the final fantasy or dragon warrior(quest) I enjoy having the official guide. Not because I need it for help but more as part of the lore and atmosphere of the game. So glad your making more UA-cam videos again. Thanks Pete.
CELESTE was my physical to digital revelation. I waited so long for Celeste to come out as a physical release that I desisted after waiting almost one year and bought the digital at a discount. Months later the physical release was announced at around 6 to 7 times more expensive than the digital. On the other hand, Axiom Verge has a charity donation for the developer's children from buying the physical release. That time it even felt better to spend more on the physical release. I buy physical whenever is cheaper than the digital version
I believe Pete needs to return to UA-cam, even if it is just once a month. Pete's streams are interesting, but his UA-cam commentary is excellent and this channel strangely evokes nostalgia for the early days of video game nostalgia.
Honestly I completely stopped collecting video games back in 2015 and since then have been playing almost all of my games on PC with emulators.. But I still like to watch you and other video game collector guys! :) still very entertaining and fun to listen to, even If I just play all my games on PC now.
I’m glad I always focused on the vita, ever since launch I always kept up on it.. Played the hell out of it and still do! I feel you tho, it’s tough to keep up with the staggering amount of games coming out.
Stopped collecting about every home console system. I completely sold off my Famicom/NES stuff, SNES, SMS, Saturn etc. I kept the games I loved and that I had the most nostalgia for on my Playstation systems and Dreamcast. Prices were getting out of hand (especially Saturn) and I also fell back in love with Sony and Nintendo's portables. Vita is the only system I guess I'd consider myself a "collector" for. Those physical limited print games, and import Asia/Europe region English releases really did start to kill the fun. So stressful and overwhelming after a point. Some say it was a necessary evil, but now there seems to be new releases every week for the home consoles. Thankfully there are only about 6 physical print ESRB rated Vita carts that are set to come out. I can't wait to get back to completely casual collecting. Still I've got to say for the indie games that came out for the Vita I enjoyed most of them and found very little I'd classify as shovelware. Despite all the stress I'm glad I stuck with Vita.
The main reasons I stopped collecting and offloaded my collection while prices were still high... Disc rot... Data rot... The flooding of bootlegs, repros, fakes, etc. I'm happy with emulated romsets of classic systems.
Have you considered doing a podcast? I'd enjoy just hearing your thoughts on recent games you've played, gaming news, ect. You have a good relaxing voice for it too! Great video btw
For me it's always been about collecting games that I love, enjoy, have nostalgia for, or interest me. Anything else isn't worth having for me. No point in owning a game I won't play
My 2 cents with Wii U. I can get tropical freeze for 20 bucks on it vs. Full price on switch. All the switch ports charge full price unless they go on sale.
The only system that I collect for is the Vita, and even with it I’ve been ignoring the limited run games because not all of them are worth the high price for me. I’m going for a mostly complete NA set.
I think a good way to approach the problem is to only collect what you want to play, and to avoid backlogging, only buy a new game each time you complete one.
I started collecting also thanks to your exciting videos about your Amazing collection. I have a pretty nice PS1/PS2/PS3 collection, but now I quit because of the lack of space in my room and time to play them. I reaally feel bad thinking of buying a new games that I know I'm gonna play It 2 or 3 years later, or even "never"... As I grow up I feel I have other priorities in terms of investing my Money so I'm done with collecting. But It was fun, and I also have to thank you for that, so.. thank you Pete! I Hope you Will post videos more often in 2020 🙂
I was one of those people saying see you next year haha. I'm very glad to be proven wrong. Cheers, Pete. It's great to see you making videos again even if this ends up being the last one for a while.
i only "collect" games i actually like and want to play. i dont collect just to hit numbers. on rarity its like all these old games get remastered and re released anyways. theres always going to be legit rare limited printed games but thats becoming less and less now a day like you mentioned.
Hmm, the limited games scene has only gotten worse, I went out of my way to get that broken PS4 port of Psychonauts and that's it, everything about it brings in such toxic reselling communities. I tried to get The Messenger on PS4 through 2 different companies and no dice. The absolute worst though was Special Reserve games with their "2nd Chance Sale" for PS4 and Switch Messenger copies with a pretty email they sent out with an image/graphic hyping up the 2nd chance with pics of the PS4 and Switch physical copies. I have the image saved. The 2nd chance day comes, and Special Reserve says on their Discord that all PS4 copies will now be only sold at conventions. Horrible customer care, they have none. I was like that's bullshit, I literally waited 4 months for nothing while the ebay price kept going up. I was immediately banned.
Hey PeteDorr, first time watcher and I couldn't agree more with your assessment. I have collected for retro systems (NES, Genesis, SNES, Saturn, PS1, N64, PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube) since 2014, and my current games in my "wish-list" for all systems is 90% or more for the aforementioned systems. I didnt even get XBOX One this time around and will likely only get either PS5 or XBOX Series X and only a handful of carefully selected games for these newer systems each year. Rock on and happy gaming!
I finally gave up on Saturn and sold like 65 games for a good price. I miss the days of good games for 30 bucks. But now I have the Fenrir ODE so at least I still play on hardware.
I know this video's a year old now, but I completely agree with your takes on collecting some systems being an exercise in punishment. Being a Vita owner / collector can just about shorten your lifespan if you let yourself get caught up in the endless limited releases. And as for the Saturn... big "oof". All reason and logic has fled the Saturn's pricing market. Like you, I was fortunate to build my collection for that console before the prices went completely nuts (I blame UA-cam "hidden gems" videos and people who watch them who have more dollars than sense), but anything I'm still missing will probably remain missing aside from a few imports. The games are great, but I wouldn't pay the current asking prices for them. You can play games that are just as good for a fraction of the cost on many, many other consoles.
I've stopped collecting for PS3 'recently' but thats mostly because I have all the games I care about/ every JRPG. I'm in the same boat with you on starting to buy more digital games and also not caring as much for limited releases / editions. I'm slowly trying to get every PS2 JRPG as well, and I swear I only have a few left but then I find more exist, or I consider including western RPGs and strategy games that are borderline and there ends up being a ton more. If I ever finish PS2 though hopefully I can slow down buying games and only get limited/collectors editions of games I reaally actually want and not just buying it because of FOMO .
My PS4 collection has just passed 300, and that was me being very selective too.. I really have no idea how it went that high.. Meanwhile, my Xbox One collection has not hit the 20 mark yet.
I just bought Dicing Knight. off eBay a few days ago complete for $700. Did I overpay? I just saw three copies go for over 80000 yen on YJA, when the game was only going for $300-400 a few years ago. Is it really that rare now? I only see it a couple times a year.
I actually decided to start a life-long dream of mine and start an SNES collection. I'm using the Retro Bit Super Retro Trio Plus for that purpose, and I got my first eight games, including the awesome Quintett trilogy of Soul Blazer, Illusion of Time and Terranigma. I can't wait to play through those for the first time with actual cartridges.
Awesome call on the "let's create rare games" mentality. Finding games in the clearance bin that seemed good and actually were, was part of the hunt. Incredible games with incredible bad timing led to some awesome finds. I like some of the limited reissues of games but its gotten silly, and it's just not the same thing.
I totally agree with you on the N-Gage that thing is ridiculous also with the vita I totally understand where your coming from im still collecting for it and just seeing all these “RARE” “LIMITED” tites can be annoying sometimes since there is so many of them.
I have stopped collecting physical video games because I hate having to put a new disc in when I want to play a new game. I tend to switch what I am playing very quickly. I still collect physical copies of movies and tv shows because I like picking up a movie and then settling in for a movie night I don't see myself going digital for movies but for video games digital is perfect for me.
You can also blame stores like Babbage's/EB's for Game Boy and NES games being rare. I managed several Babbage's stores in the mid to late 90's, and we were instructed to "field destroy" all traded in boxes and manuals. The reasoning for this was two-fold. 1. They didn't want sales associates to get the used traded-in stock mixed up with new returned games. Keeping in mind this was a cross-over time when we still sold new Genesis/SNES/GB/GBC games alongside the used ones. Some stores crossed out the UPC code, which many stores used to scan the games, but some employees still managed to scan them! 2. The companies advertising and paying for premium shelf space were getting angry that the used games were selling so many times more than the used stuff and wanted this done. They didn't think it was fair that the customer could get everything with the used game as they did with the new copy, but for a fraction of the price. I didn't agree with it. In fact I never destroyed any of them. Instead I kept them in a box hidden in the back room, and when a customer bought a game I would ask them if they wanted the box and manual to go along with it. You'd be surprised how many customers, (admittedly many were parents or kids) didn't care. So When I left the store I took all of the extra Genesis inserts, NES/SNES/GB/GBC/N64 boxes, and manuals for all with me. I still have a couple hundred extra manuals, and I had traded most of the boxes for games that I wanted. It was certainly worth my time to not throw them out!
The legend of UA-cam is back and making videos once again. Pete, you've been sorely missed. Welcome back my friend. Happy New Year by the way. Having said that, the video game collector's market is a difficult one to get into, in particular when it comes to collecting rare and expensive titles. Limited edition versions don't exactly help matters. A lot of retro consoles are difficult to collect for due to how pricey the games are. The Sega Saturn, Panasonic 3DO, Neo Geo AES, N64, SNES, GBA are just a few examples. Gamecube, Atari Jaguar, TurboGrafx-16, NES and certain PS2 releases are quite pricey. Even certain PS3 games are hard to find as well. Of course, another major issue is in regards to limited edition releases, which have around 1,000 copies, which I believe is the minimum print run. It could possibly be 500 copies. There are certain people who will take advantage of the situation by purchasing 3-5 copies. By that point, the games are hard to find. They'll keep one or two copies for themselves and then they'll sell the remaining copies for 2-3 times as much as what they originally sold for. Gaming is a fun and enjoyable hobby. Its something that a lot of people grew up with then they were kids. Nostalgia is a big part of the hobby and understandably so. Unfortunately, the nostalgia and fun of playing video games and the hobby of collecting them is being ruined due to the aforementioned scalpers. Then again, there are a lot of video games out there that are legitimately rare and hard to find. Either way, its difficult to get onboard. Otherwise, thanks once again Pete for the great video. Welcome back. Its good to see you again!
I think I pretty much gave up on buying games for all systems a few years ago. I still keep an eye out for Wii U and Wii stuff but otherwise I don't bother looking. Prices are too high and there is a low chance I will even play every physical game I currently own.
I don't mind getting digital copies every once in a while, usually on sale, I will still always buy the physical copy when available. I might be old fashioned, but I don't truly feel like I own it unless it has a place on my shelf.
I just had a look after you mentioned the Saturn and it seems I'd have to go exclusively Japanese for the games I'd want (except for Sega Rally Championship.) I don't even have a Saturn yet. Big oof.
So happy to see you back on UA-cam. Love your twitch streaming especially the eBay shopping. I have slowed down collecting for the sega master system, I am however thinking about starting to collect for the Atari Jaguar
To answer the main question: N64 and Gamecube are the main two that I don't really focus on anymore/am just done with for better terms. A couple years ago for each of them I went through and grabbed the last chunk of games for each that I was really interested in, mostly just odds and ends, didn't want a complete set for either but I like where each set is, its where I would want both of them. But also, prices are getting kind of wild so I'm thankful to have been very ahead of the curve on many of the bigger cost titles and accessories for each of them. Maybe they aren't Sega Saturn levels of wild (another that I've almost given up on for similar reasons despite two games I'm attempting to slowly save for) but its still crazy that there's people just finding things to blow up in price on N64 and GC. Glad I don't have a major itch for either of them anymore Regarding the over-saturation of limited physical stuff, I personally like digital games getting some hard copy releases because for digital games I may have been interested in I most often hadn't tried them before because I almost never buy games digitally. i just try demos. It's very much a personal preference that's harder to deal with as time goes buy but I just don't like buying games digital if I can help it. I do make exceptions and have begun to do so more often as the years have pressed on but I still hold out when I can or just wait for a sale I can't pass up. With hard copies of digital stuff becoming more common it gives me a nice outlet to get games I wanted. But I buy them to actually play, and usually just buy the standard versions, I definitely don't buy them as collectors pieces as I'm sure some do. Still, trying to actually collect for modern consoles when this is a case probably makes it tough for anyone who wants to go for completion so I can understand why its a turn off for many. I was never one to go for completion so for me I just see it as me continuing to be picky and stick to what I already wanted to buy anyways. These companies doing this release lots of games every year now, its cool seeing indie and other games get some different representation but I'm still always very picky and just buy what I was interested in It sounds like we buy and collect with similar mindsets though, I've definitely tried to move away from collecting impulsively. I don't know if you remember him but craig on TVandlust (still posts vids every now and then) made some videos talking on that subject a LONG while back and those always stuck with me, if anything it's helped me be wiser with money and also love my collection more VS it just being an impulsive stock pile
I love how your video format is still so similar since ten years ago.
This is weirdly nostalgic.
Tahmid Ahmed I been watching Pete since 07 not much has changed but the content is still great
I agree. Pete is so good at talking, that is really all his videos need to be. Just him, talking about his feelings about games. That is where he is at his strongest, in my opinion.
well mostly because the video quality hasn't changed in 10 years
It's always a nice breath of fresh air amongst the over editing and higher production values.
Ah yes, the sweet nostalgia of zero personal growth
2020 room tour when??
Mickhero yes please lol
We need this!

You don't have to be a completionist. I collect just games that I want.

Same
I’m the same way. Especially with the current generation. I’m basically collecting all the digital novels.
Collecting retro games, period, died out for me years ago. But most recently I gave up my quest for a complete US Dreamcast library. I have all the games that I actually love playing. There's absolutely no reason for me to have the ones I'm never going to enjoy.

No, limited run games packages 99-cent eShop games for $35 on Switch, they are a devilish publisher.
I felt so burned on the quality of those Star Wars repro cart CEs they made. They were the cheapest quality and very shoddy quality control. I think the quality of their CEs has tanked over the last year from my personal experience with them.
i just use my modded psvita to play whatever i want and don’t really care about physical copies. im technically collecting but generally only buy what i want to play. i bought a ton of games from jjgames and lukiegames but usually bought disc only just so i could play it
I stopped "collecting" in the previous generation. Now I only buy games that I am truly interested in playing.
Yeah I mean, there’s just WAY too many games anyway lol
That’s the way to do it man
Same.
I think I’m good for now, I’ve got a backlog of games for a couple of lifetimes. But the holiday sales got me again
ed Di campo Same. Never have been a “collector “ only stuff I love.
if we get regular pete updates i'll be a happy man, this dudes videos got me heavy into gaming like 11 years ago
So happy to see more activity from your UA-cam channel again! I was really hooked when you used to upload very frequently a few years ago. Always found your videos about collecting very interesting. Good luck with your UA-cam and Twitch channel this year as well :)

The artificial rarity thing got me with Catherine Full Body last year. Got it on launch, and the LE went down to like $45 almost immediately.
I got the steelbook edition new for 13 bucks lol
I got it for $20 about two weeks after launch. Atlus games aren’t rare these days.
Let's not compare Atlus Games to shit companies like LRG and Super Rare Games (yes, there is a company like that). Haha it was a little joke, I was sure we'd see one again maybe late in the year but didnt't expect one this soon.
Oh I know it was a joke, just wanted to have some fun with it :)
@@PeteDorr How about a room tour while you're in the UA-cam mood?
666JEDIMINDTRICKS666 duuuuuuude please Pete!
666JEDIMINDTRICKS666 I will get in line for that shit
I stopped on basically all retro. Prices around me have just skyrocketed and makes it really not worth it just to say I have it physical.
I think the EVERDRIVE might be up your alley then - still a physical cart what with all the games :D
I'm just glad that the really expensive games are getting reproductions so I can at least add some sort of physical cart to my collection for games I love
I’ve been watching Pete for years. Watching his old videos brings back nostalgia. Especially old room tour videos.
There's almost no point to physical collecting anymore. They never have the patches, updates, DLC, etc. You basically own the equivalent of an unfinished, beta, game. Two video's in two days! Please keep it up Pete. Good to see new content.

Pete!!! 2 videos in 2 days whaaaat!!!
Shhh! He’ll hear you. You want him to make a third video soon don’t you?
😆
stopped collecting back when the ps4 just came out..felt like I already achieved my goal of collecting on the 360/ps3/wii/psp/etc. now I no longer have my collection( since I realize its just collecting dust and feel bad that all those games will never going to be played again) nowadays I just rent/buy(cheaply on PC) them that interest me and move on.
Haha Just too many games too little time I guess :(
Woo first vid of the decade! Welcome Back, Pete!
Will you do another episode of the All Gen Gamers podcast?
I only collect for Sega Genesis. That's it. It doesn't have to be CIB. As long as the cart is legit and it works, I am good.
These thumbnails are so great 😂
Honestly I completely stopped collecting video games back in 2015 and since then have been playing almost all of my games on PC with emulators.. But I still like to watch you and other video game collector guys! :) still very entertaining and fun to listen to, even If I just play all my games on PC now.
Whoa! Great to see you uploading! And great subject too! :D
edit: I stopped to collect for consoles with flash cart (or ODE) options.
I’m glad I always focused on the vita, ever since launch I always kept up on it..
Played the hell out of it and still do!
I feel you tho, it’s tough to keep up with the staggering amount of games coming out.
I'm still holding out for a physical copy of cuphead on the switch.
Plants and Games - Hopefully when the DLC is released, then a physical can be made...HOPEFULLY!
It's well worth buying digital I got mine day one and it's worth getting on sale so you can enjoy it.

Hey Pete! This video brings up many good points. It has all become overwhelming and tuff to keep up with. Great video!
All the switch ports charge full price unless they go on sale.
loved the video, started watching you YEARs ago, so glad you are still making videos!
Whoa you still collect for the FM Towns Marty? I'd love to see an updated collection of that!
The only system that I collect for is the Vita, and even with it I’ve been ignoring the limited run games because not all of them are worth the high price for me. I’m going for a mostly complete NA set.
Pete it doesn't matter the video game topic, just keep the videos coming! Your content is always interesting.
I stopped collecting fullstop as I realized there was no endpoint, or being fully satisfied. Its like an illness
Rowan B Only collecting what has a place in your feelings definitely is a healthy way to go.
Very smart thought provoking video. I am presently rethinking my obsession with getting many of the low produced run games.
Current gen titles will be pointless to collect when servers eventually shut down and you can’t get the mandatory downloads. Looking at you Switch..
Switch collecting feels so unnecessary because of this.
Flying Plant Whale exactly why I stick with PS4 and don’t touch the switch or the Xbox one
great video Pete. You were my favorite youtuber back in the day. I hope you continue to make videos
I agree about super rare games and limited edition runs. They are coming thick and fast to the point that it's vert costly.
I would love to see a way to play Wonderswan on the TV
You can play games that are just as good for a fraction of the cost on many, many other consoles.
new game room tour?
Man I remember watching your vids 10 years ago I was hooked on your recently collecting vids
Damn man I'm glad I came across your channel again. I used to follow you on a different account over 10 years ago!
My PS4 collection has just passed 300, and that was me being very selective too.. I really have no idea how it went that high.. Meanwhile, my Xbox One collection has not hit the 20 mark yet.
All the best for the New Year Pete.
I just bought Dicing Knight. off eBay a few days ago complete for $700. Did I overpay? I just saw three copies go for over 80000 yen on YJA, when the game was only going for $300-400 a few years ago. Is it really that rare now? I only see it a couple times a year.
Really missed your stuff Pete.. Keep em coming!!
The second and last video from Pete in 2020. See you again next year, Pete!
Intentional rarity kills it for me.
I totally agree with you on the N-Gage that thing is ridiculous also with the vita I totally understand where your coming from im still collecting for it and just seeing all these “RARE” “LIMITED” tites can be annoying sometimes since there is so many of them.
I just sold my Saturn wanted to get the American exclusives but the prices are crazy so I’ll get my bang for buck with Ps2
Hi are any of your Mario plushes for sale
your channel inspired me to get alot of GBA games CIB, i hope you havent stopped collecting those!
Another reason collecting for Sega CD and Saturn isn't worth it anymore is because we're already starting to see disc rot in those games.
Love your counter displays! There my favorite to collect.
Steep Slope Sliders is just simply wonderful. That’s all. Great video!
The legendary urban yeti has reappeared for yet another video.
Forever the GOAT. Wish I had the time to watch the twitch stuff regularly. 🖤 forever though.
As a big Godzilla fan you inspired me to buy Godzilla PS4 back In 2016. The price is now insane everywhere.
Great to see you on my subscription feed again.
For similar reasons, 3DS because I can't really stream those or capture footage.
I don't mind getting digital copies every once in a while, usually on sale, I will still always buy the physical copy when available. I might be old fashioned, but I don't truly feel like I own it unless it has a place on my shelf.
I'm oddly curious what you think of the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie?
Something weird is going on with the Analogue Pocket that nobody is addressing..
Oh, what's that? I've not heard about it in a few months, and I presume I won't find much if I google...
I just had a look after you mentioned the Saturn and it seems I'd have to go exclusively Japanese for the games I'd want (except for Sega Rally Championship.)
I don't even have a Saturn yet. Big oof.
I know right? I've wanted to collect for Saturn for a few years now, but I really can't afford it.
I've wanted to try out Sonic World in Sonic Jam for so long. Looks like the dream will keep being just that. XD
I think there is a wonder swan backlight mod
I agree with you on Game Boy Advance. I do cart only for that, which has saved me a lot of money.
Glad I don't have a major itch for either of them anymore
Regarding the over-saturation of limited physical stuff, I personally like digital games getting some hard copy releases because for digital games I may have been interested in I most often hadn't tried them before because I almost never buy games digitally. i just try demos.
These companies doing this release lots of games every year now, its cool seeing indie and other games get some different representation but I'm still always very picky and just buy what I was interested in
It sounds like we buy and collect with similar mindsets though, I've definitely tried to move away from collecting impulsively. I don't know if you remember him but craig on TVandlust (still posts vids every now and then) made some videos talking on that subject a LONG while back and those always stuck with me, if anything it's helped me be wiser with money and also love my collection more VS it just being an impulsive stock pile
Question: Do you claim video games purchases on tax since it is a business expense?
Thanks
