I always have a feeling that Filus is a developing player and is going to break through at any minute. Then I realized he's 33 and been playing as a pro for a very long time xD
I don't understand it. Every single serve, the ball drops behind Kallberg's head. You can see this from BOTH ends of the table. This is in direct contradiction to ITTF serve rule 2.6.4:
"From the start of service until it is struck, the ball shall be above the level of
the playing surface and behind the server's end line, and it shall not be
hidden from the receiver by the server or his or her doubles partner or by
anything they wear or carry"
Assuming that Kallberg's head is part of "the server" when he's serving, how can this be legal, he has been doing this for years now, when is the ITTF going to make a stand, and make things fair for his opponents (some of whom also serve totally illegally, it has to be said) ?
It's a disgrace. ITTF should enforce the rules it puts in place. We are still stuck to 90's hidden serve era in the year 2021.
Then why didn't Filus say anything?
@@stonedrider15 because there is some kind of bizarre honour code amongst players, where they do not complain about illegal serves and leave it to the referees (to ignore, in most cases it seems). That's why it's so important as spectators that we call it out. It's disgusting, it is simply cheating. If they are not going to enforce the rule they should just remove it, and allow everyone to shield the ball, rather than giving the people who want to cheat an advantage.

If I'm not mistaken, every service from Kalberg was illegal because he obscured the ball behind his head. And yet not a peep from the officials.
It's either a stupid rule or lazy officiating.
It's just impossible to see it clearly from the referee's viewpoint. There's either an extra referee present to observe serves.or the rule just cannot be properly enforced
Filus is so good at switching rubber.
Quite the only thing he is good at... changing the Material switching the side, is Not a magic trick. Can only attack 2 Hard topspins after another and the third ball he won‘t ever reach...

@@ktosomcosom19 you‘re right, but on the level they‘re playing, this should Not be the case. I mean - this is the best of europe... And just have a look at every 2nd chop By filus - way too high.
@@Therobbe1996 Are these chops easy to be attacked, with the same amount of backspin each time? I don't think so. There's a reason Filus is right there with the top European players.

@@Jeppe950 It means alot, it tell you got the chance. Sadly this match Kallberg lost first sett after having 8-2 and had problems closing the set.

@@john07ru может я вам секрет сейчас открою, но в защиту играют не потому что думают она позволит всех обыграть, потому что человек по физике и мышлению больше к ней расположен!!!
Ну и послушал бы я вас еслиб играли старым целлулоидным мячом... Там перекос был не настолько очевиден.
