Hi there, the white substance is just white oil pastel to give the signature a 2 -toned look. It should work on any surface..but best to try out first.
We used a 6B Noris Pencil but any pencil will do.

I tried this with my Sennelier oil pastels. I
It didn’t exactly work out like it did in the video.
It’s a red painting and I tried to transfer a white signature.
The finally result was a red signature with a white layer around the letters.
I literally followed it how you did it.
I suspect it could be the fact Sennelier are lipstick buttery soft(?).
What kind of pastel did you use?
    Thanks for sharing

This is great , thanks so much! I am new to oil pastels so have a question: Is there a way to make the signature permanent as I don't want it be blended into the rest of the painting? Many thanks.

    WOW that is special.
    Few questions:
What was the white substance that you put on the top of the oil pastel last?
Also will it work on any surface or only pastel?
What kind of pencil did you use?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise .

Depends what kind of birds you are dealing with. But the main thing is to give your fish plenty of hiding places...water lillies, rocks etc....
