I'm here because of the film Gifted !
Pranav Nambiar me too!
Pranav Nambiar same here! 😀
me toooo!!!!
Same here!!!
Pranav Nambiar me too!! Lol
Anyone here after gifted? Anyway...this was very helpful...I've always struggled in math..
mee
Me too
That's exactly me lol and I still don't understand this method
#metoo
I too
First, when I watched this thingy I was like UGHHH tratchenberg is soooo harddd but then I focused. I became the fastest multiplier in class omg thank u so muchh
I'm inspired with the movie "Gifted"
Seen it yesterday on TV, that's why I am also here now...
Me too
redirected from gifted..
im confused but cool how can a little girl get this lol
Coz she is Gifted !!! LOL !!😂😂😂
It's also not a true story so...
😁😁
She is god gifted

My head hurts. I’m going back to the movie.
yes xd
🤣
🤣
In Vedic Mathematics, this is called "Vertically and Crosswise." However you call it, this is amazingly efficient. Those claims about multiplying two huge numbers together in a matter of seconds? Proven. Solid method.
I'm a senior in high school in Belgium and I'm absolutely amazed at this method. Thank you sm, explanations were VERY clear loved it
Why don’t they teach this method in school,like it’s much simpler and easier to understand?
True I've never heard of Trachtenberg till I watched gifted
Maybe it’s to hard to retain the info when ur very little (6-10)
this would be because the “chimney method” is what we’re taught instead which is just the tratchenberg method but vertical
Its really hard to hold that much in your mind
Bibi Fatma if u do this regularly it'll get easier

Well, you can use a mnemonic system. I learned to do this from another source, Bill Handley's Speed Mathematics. Personally I visualize three places in my head, and one holds the answer, another holds the carry digits, and the last holds temporary results.
I could tAlk more about the method if you asked me. Of course, you can go to the source material by going to Libgen.is and searching "Speed Mathematics".
i do it left to right so i can say my answer as i go and that way i dont have to remember as many numbers as this shows
But what about carry digits? For example, if you were to do 96* 55 left to right you might say "9*5 tens, 4". Then you'd say "9*5 ones, 5, 9*other 5 tens, 4, 6*5 tens, 3, add to get 12", so the correct thing to say would be 52, but you already said 4 and wouldn't be able to add the carry 1 to 4 to get the 5 in 52.
I just paused ‘gifted’ to watch this
I also came here after explaination video of 'gifted' movie on a random UA-cam channel. In fact, I haven't watched the movie yet
Yep same here
As everyone I am also after gifted
I wanna say thanks to the story writer of gifted and this youtuber
My grandfather could easily multiply two five-digit numbers in his head, and multiply much larger numbers by three or four digits. When I was in elementary school (In the late 90's), I asked him how he did it, and it he gave me the book The Trachtenberg Speed System of Basic Mathematics. I found the book fascinating and still use many of the tools in the book, especially the "rules" for multiplying large numbers by single digits. I also really liked his method for adding many large numbers together quickly with built-in error checking.
It's really cool to see so many people interested in this because of Gifted, I'll have to check out the movie.
I highly recommend anyone interested to look up the book.
Thank you so much Eric.
Me too. I watched gifted and i learned it.
I Struggle With Math And This Actually Made It 10x Easier For Me. (I'm Also Here Because Of The Movie "Gifted")
same!
Dude that's insane i also come there after hearing the movie gifted
Here from the movie gifted 😂😂
Didn't know this is now used by a lot of people and became very famous as I look through the comments. I was thought this when I was 8 and I had a slightly hard time learning the whole system. But to tell you, once you etched this system onto your head, math would be a lot lighter. So, don't give up and research a bit more!
Thanks, i was doubtful
Very helpful!! I can solve very fast now!!
been doing this for 5 minutes and im only twenty seconds slower than column multiplication which i have be doing for 5 years. gonna practice eveyday
Oh my gooodddd I’m thirteen and they should’ve really taught us this in math! This is sooo easy I thought it was going to be hard, I think the only really hard part is trying to do this in your head and not having to write it down.
I was soo confused but it's actually easy. All you do is just multiply, take the higher place digit, and add it to the next multiplication set. Easy Work!
As far as I understand, this is not the trachtenberg system.
You don't have to worry about the whole product in each intermediate step. Just Unit place with current number and Ten's place with previous digit. Thus nick named UT method.
Let's take an example solved in the video.
562 x 37
Before starting the multiplication prefix a ZERO infront of the multiplicand. So it will look like,
0562 x 37
will make use of this ZERO later.
Multiplication start with '7', the unit place of the multiplier, 37.
Now '7' reaches the unit place of multiplicand, that is '2'. We call '2' as the Current Number (CN) for '7'. Any number previous to current number in multiplicand is called the Previous Number (PN). At this point, '7' don't have any PN.
When multiplying with CN, take only UNIT place. That is '2 x 7 => 14', but we take only unit place, ie. 4. Add Ten's place of the product with the PN. Since there is no previous number, nothing to be added.
U(2 x 7) + T() => 4
. .
0562 x 37
----------------
4
'7' travels to next number, in the multiplicand, that is '6'. Now '6' becomes the Current Number (CN) for 7 and '2' becomes Previous Number (PN).
Unit place with CN and Ten's place with PN. That is,
U(6x7) + T(2x7) => 2 + 1 => 3 ----------------(A)
Similarly, '3' the ten's place digit in multiplier, 37, starts it's journey with the unit place '2' (of multiplicand 562). Remember, for '3', the CN is '2' and there is no PN.
Unit(2x3) + Ten() => 6 ----------------(B)
Add both (A) and (B) => 3 + 6 => 9
. , , .
0562 x 37
----------------
94
Now '7' jump to next digit in multiplicand, that is '5'. For '7' CN is '5' and PN is '6'.
Similarly '3' also jump to it's next number and for 3 CN is '6' and PN is '2'.
U(5 x 7) + T(6 x 7) => 5 + 4 => 9 --------------(A)
U(6 x 3) + T(2 x 3) => 8 + 0 => 8 ---------------(B)
Add both (A) and (B) => 9 + 8 => 17 => (1)7
We have a carry forward '1' and write the carry in brackets.
. , , .
0562 x 37
---------------
(1)794
Now '7' reaches ZERO the final UT calculation point for it. So for '7' CN is ZERO and PN is '5'
Our '3' reaches '5' which is it's CN and '6' becomes PN
U(ZERO x 7) + T(5 x 7) => 0 + 3 => 3 -----(A)
U(5 x 3) + T(6 x 3) => 5 + 1 => 6 ------------(B)
Adding (A) and (B) => 3 + 6 => 9
Add the carry forward from the previous step, that is '1'
9 + 1 => 10 => (1)0
. , , .
0562 x 37
---------------
(1)0794
Calculations with '7' is DONE. Now '3' reaches ZERO. For 3, CN is ZERO and PN is '5'
U(ZERO x 3) + T(5 x 3) => 0 + 1 => 1
Add the carry, that is
1 + 1 => 2
'3' is also DONE. As there is no more digits to follow (in multiplier), our final answer will be,
, , .
0562 x 37
------------------
20794
Looks like everyone's here after watching gifted
Thank you, now I understand♥️
dude you just added like 40 more points to my IQ.
Living with learning all the time, I learned, thanks.
Nice method I used this in a test I had saved a lot of time
LOL. I've been using this method my whole life from the 3rd grade and I didn't even know it was a complicated method.
g i f t e d
This is awesome!!
This is actually quite simple
U just have to add and subtract along with some simple multiplication
Im the only one here who isnt from gifted😭?
ur not alone
i just randomly found this vid
I found it because of a you tube short. I always say I wouldn’t be a waiter if I could add.
Thats vedic mathematics in India. Traditional mathematics since Sir S.ramanujan.
So far that was more difficult by far then the way i do it in my head already.
Jake Ambrose how do you do it?
Thanks for this, I really appreciate it
Why you do not my teacher when i m go to school 🤣🤣. Very understand for learn
G r a m m a r
Oh now i understand i watch the first vid but only know up to 14 so bullsh** but this one is solid ty
math is fun because of this but mostly its hard
I’m gonna pass mathematics.
Wish i will go back time where i was grade 1 and show this method to my teacher
KinGPilliP Alboleras ...me too...
Am here because of the movie gifted and I foresee that it's going to be nice here❤
school teahching math : makes no sense
Anthorny branson: easy
This method is awesome! :D
Thanks very good video
I have shortcutted this method 😁
What is it
What is the purpose of the leading zeros? Anything multiplied by zero is zero anyway.
done, now how do you solve this mentally? without using the paper
imagination
Practice
Gifted phenomenon
thank you so much
Your help in math
Anyone else just place the multiplier under the main number and do it the old fashioned way AND find it easier?
Thank you very much :)
Came here from gifted??😂😁
Mere too....😉
Lmao after i watched this ive been always first to finish the math test
I’m here after watching “gifted” in Netflix.
Iam here because i see Gifted from bollywood silver screen
We are all here because of the movie gifted
Hi Tony. This is awesome. Suppose the multiplicand is 12 digit and multiplier is 12 digit, does the same method work? Would you please post a video?
Just say 144 it’s simple ...
THNX
i tried an when I calculated 620x36 my result was 4320 but actually it is 22320
I tried it, maybe u just missed some step.
hehe
gifted
Same
I’m here because of the movie Gifted I loved math and love working on equations so I thought maybe I was gifted BUT NOT I guess
UPDATE
I started using this method
DON'T
Shivam Mishra I did already
@@hessa7835 don't bcz conventional method consumes same amount of time.
How do you solve for example 123×456... I have to struggle with this, does this method also work for those bigger numbers?
yes it works on bigger number its so simple
this method is very ancient it is in vedic maths in india we used it so many times
I can explain it.
123X456 has to be changed to look like
this 000123X456
The last number has to be multiplied by the last number which would be 3X6 then you just multiply 4 and 5 by zero because of the pattern.basically it would looks like this 00012300X456
Pattern would be
0X4=0
0X5=0
3X6=18
So your first number is 8 and the 1 will be added to the second number which is
0X4=0
3X5=15
2X6=12 then you add them up with the 1 you carried and it would be 28 and your numbers would be 88 and you carry the 2 etc
Please do a stream
Here from the movie gifted
Wow it's cool but need a good practice
I don't mean to appear rude but isn't that simply basic multiplication everyone learns in elementary? I mean, how else are you supposed to multiplicate without a calculator?
Yeah, I'm here because of Gifted, too but I didn't know this method was called Trachtenberg method. I was hoping for something...I don't know, something you don't necessarily learn in school. Anyways, still thank you for the effort of doing a video.
1st, trachtenberg method isn't learn in school. 2nd, this meethod is teach so you wouldn't need a calculator or you'll able to compute bigger numbers using your head. 3rd, trachetenberg method isn't necessesaily learn in school
@@elysianzenith8000 How come I've learned it in school, then?
Just because you use a claim two times, doesn't make it stronger.
Also, I know this method is used, so you wouldn't need a calculator. That wasn't even the point, so why do you mention it?
Niyo-pun u come here because of Gifted right? "Trachtenberg System. Let you compute large number using your head.... So, u didn’t need a calculator" -chris evans. That’s why I said it
@@elysianzenith8000 But it has absolutely nothing to do with my comment. I didn't question the purpose of Trachtenberg method, so it's unnecessary mentioning it.
61 x 32 =
6. 1
3. 18. 3
2. 12. 2. -----> 18 15 2 = 1 9 5 2
3. 2
6. 18. 12
1. 3. 2 ------> 18 15 2 = 1 9 5 2
Came here to get gifted
YESSS LMAOOO
Here after Gifted.
Gifted...
Looks like nonsense to me. You still must do addition and multiplication. I found that I can do it the usual way as fast or faster.
ron hat 😂😂 yes we done.
How do you do 786×92 ?
0X9=0
6X2=12 carry the 1
Stage2
6X9=54
8X2=16+1+54=71 carry the 7.current numbers are 12
Stage3
9X8=72
7X2=14+7+72=93 carry the 9. Current numbers are 312
Stage4
7X9=63
2X0=0+63+9=72 carry the 7 .current numbers are 2312
Stage 5 are just multiplying 0
0X0=0
0X0=0+0+7=7.answer is 72,312
Plz solve the mathod in three digit numbers
Anas Abbasi it’s the same thing just add an extra 0

I'm also here because of Gifted
THIS LOOKS FUCKING COMPLICATED WTF???
I also .
Is anyone else here after "Gifted" or is it just me 🤷♀️
I'm here because of the movie gifted 😁
gifted i be back
After gifted😅
So we all are here after watching the movie GIFTED😉
I am so sure everyone is here because of the movie GIFTED
ô tôi cũng vậy great
esta en ingles
Im making my own video.
So we all came here after watching gifted movie 😉😘
I'm here after Gifted
Gifted?
I'm not smarter than anyone else, but how do people not get it lmao
It’s easy on paper but in your mind (the way this method is supposed to work) it’s WAY harder.
Turkce cok guzel
Engincan Avcı abicim sana e posta atsam banada anlatabilirmisin
try solve 32X48 on that method
1,536.
2 x 8 = 16 , unit digit is 6
3 x 8 + 4 x 2 + 1 = 33, tens digit is 3
3 x 4 + 3 = 15 , answer is 1536
It isn't hard, what is nice is the method to calculate does not change whether the multiplicand is two digits or thirty-two digits long. Not like Vedic math were you apply different techniques depending on the numbers involved.
2X8=16 carry the 1
0X4=0
Stage2
2x4=8
3X8=24+1 which adds up to 33 carry the 3=36
Stage3
3X4=12
0X8=0+3=15 carry the 1=536
Stage4 which is multiplying 0
0X0=0
0X0=0+1=1,536
The hard type was typing
You from nz
Confusing
I watched gifted film
me too because of the movie lol.😂😂😂😂😂
Gifted movie
this is great but I learned a method in school in third grade that is much easier and faster than this
