I didn't realize that items simply could not drop until you reach a certain loot stage, and that biome and tier difficulty had such a big effect. I would always avoid high tier poi early on, reasoning that I should wait until I get some decent weapons first. However, the only way to get those "decent" weapons early on is apparently by doing those higher tier poi, possibly even in more difficult biomes, since those items simply won't spawn early on otherwise.

I'm pretty good at writing functions in Excel to make a spreadsheet do what I want it to do from fairly extensive data tables. My fave spreadsheets to create are self-updating ones depending on the date. I think i can clarify loot stage when in a group because i often play with friends in groups of 6 or higher. Loot stage when in a team only takes who has the highest loot stage out of the group and everyone in the group will share that same loot stage together regardless of where they are (current theory holds true out to 4km not tried going further out). I say this because we had a friend join our world after we spend 40 days where our loot stage was in the 200-300 range and they immediately got a lvl 6 steel pick and lvl 6 military rifle from car searches back in alpha 20 so assuming that hasn't changed this is what i believe game loot stage is between groups,
The thing I hate about the loot in 7 Days is the fact that all other tiers of loot will mostly disappear, except for primitive. That is 10000% something they need to address. no one should be finding stone tools, bone knives, and pipe weapons after a certain lootstage threshold.
Hello, I have a question that is no very related to this specific video. How can we calculate what items we can find on Traders? I'm want to buy Solar Cells, but I can't find any. I wonder if using Grandpa's Fergit'n Elixir, to reapply skill points, will change the final loot bonus of lucky looter. Assuming you put points into lucky looter too early, and then want to respec so the bonus matches your current level.
@guns,nerds,&steel I understand you said loot was random for party play. Do you know how magazines work? Ex: Player A specs into clubs while Player B specs into spears. If Player A loots, is the magazine chance shared amongst both or just the looter for spec’ed magazines?
So not sure if you found out already but the traders still spawn underground in alpha 21. Just had my Jen spawn underground and no idea how to move her up lol tried resetting chunk but didn't help :/
me too though from the playthrough some friends and I are doing, it seems it you're in a party the highest player sets the loot stage and all the extra magazine perks seem to affect the whole party.. but that's just from my experience. I plan on deep diving into the loot and protein xmi to see if that helps figure it out
these guys have been putting so much coding effort into reworking mechanics that were already perfectly fine instead of actively adding and fledging out their game. I understand RWG improvements, but 4 different types of loot stages? Jars removed from existence? Imagine if they used that effort to code in using your hands and legs to help you climb up a 2 block jump, or adding melee attack directions and dynamic impact knockback, just stuff that makes the core of the game more complex and fun.
I know you talked about combined loot stage in MP but what I'm curious about is how those Perks affect skill magazines? You said the probability that a magazine spawns will stay the same, but your perk affects WHAT magazine you're going to see. Is the "what magazine" determiend by the person opening the container, or are ALL perks of the people on the map taken in consideration for that? And what if you put points into a lot of different perks? Does it end up being randomized magazines again because different perk average out the probabilities again?
I don't know if it's changed or just happen to be the loot stage matchs my crafting skill level. I didn't get any steel armor before unlocking tire3 armor in the game but as soon as I unlocked it, steel armor even tier6 steel boots start showing in the loots. Same thing happens to engine, I breakdown lots of cars but didn't get any engine before unlocking the minibike crafting.
Deadeye DOES increase your chance to find 7.62?? I had wondered about that as Machine Gunner specifies such, but Deadeye doesn't. I'm doing a Rifle/Machine Gun build so I had wondered.
I never could quite tell if my friend had Lucky Looter 5 and I didn't and we were looting a POI together, should let him open every container since their loot stage is higher? I also just tried the new leadership perk that buffs allies looting, so I just let them open everything because I wasn't sure if me opening the end chest would result in worse lost. It was always unclear to me.
Thanks for the info. Just out of curiosity where did you find the perk info for dead eye? TFP really messed up on the perk descriptions in general.this alpha, the in-game descriptions don't say anything about boosted drop rates for sniper magazines by taking ranks in dead eye, nor does it say anything about increasing drop rates for rifles, rifle parts, or 7.62 ammo... likewise boomstick doesn't say anything like that... but if you just happen to read the journal entry on "spending skill points" you'll see that the perk is supposed to do those things for shotgun. Anyhow, hope you realize how important getting good information is... since TFP won't tell us how their game works, we rely on you!
I was wondering if having more points into a skill would further increase your chance of finding those skill books... looks like it does indeed, thanks for the verification :D
Got better at the game. Multiplyer: Pine Forest *1 Burnt Forest *1.5 Desert *1.5 Snow *2 Wasteland *2.5 Flat Bonus: Pine Forest +0 Burnt Forest +10 Desert +10 Snow +20 Wasteland +30 As we can see the burnt forest Matches the Desert. Even though its half an orange skull, this is a lie as its the same as the difficulty is the same as the desert.
Could you do a video on the water mechanics? Since they improved how water works it's a bit more viable to include into builds and I'm wondering how the zombies handle water like for example can it be used to prevent the rage mode when they fall from skybridges of horde bases.
what about buried treasure [from the map.. not the trader quest] and from air drops? i tend to get better stuff from the treasure maps than i do from end loot of a poi.. and the air drops tend to be way better in this alpha than in previous
Wonder if you can solve my biggest mystery regarding loot. When should you use eye Candy? When does the game calculate what loot is in a container? Does it matter your loot stage when you enter a POI, or only when opening the container?
Best way to use eye candy is to clear out 3 or 4 POI's but don't open safes, crates and the POI end loot piles. Then put on your loot goggles, pop a jail breaker and eye candy. Go back and loot all the containers you didn't open yet.
Hello, I really really enjoy your game play. I literally took off work to watch your mega episodes. I just wish someone would put a Socom M1A cqb in the game. I know I know they have 7.62, but I'm a huge .308 fanboy. Boy oh boy with an eotech hybrid setup and 20rd mags 😮. But anyways I love what you're doing please please please keep up the outstanding work.
I've got lucky looter 5 and I've been finding a lot of weapons that I can't currently craft. so if am already at the max loot stage while in pine forest. Going to other zones won't matter then.
Does anyone know how the perk loot bonuses work in multiplayer? From my experience so far with 3 players we get each other's magazines about as often as our own
So is the loot stage calculation based upon where the loot was dropped OR where the character was that picked it up? So say you have a horde base that's in the forest biome but the kill location is in the snow biome. Also thanks for the content
Its based on where you pick it up. So if you kill it in the snow biome but loot it while standing in the forest biome it would drop your loot stage.(It matters where the player char is not where the loot container is.)
@@bttmlesspit25 made one mistake said snow biome twice instead of one snow biome one forest biome. God how did i mis that the first time. But yes the loot isnt calculated until the loot container is opened.
I need help I’m running 7DTD alpha 21 stable on my steam deck while playing the game the frame rates drop and the game play slows down and after a little bit it goes back to normal speeds it’s pretty annoying .any advice on how I can fix that I would appreciate it . Ps. I have all setting on default
So you have to remember what item has an increased chance of popping up in a loot container at a certain loot stage. It doesn't mean you will find that particular item - you only get an increased chance. If there's a hundred items that can show up inside a certain loot container, you still have a one in a hundred chance that item will even show up.
So for example if you're doing a tier 5 quest in the forest biome and you open the last big loot container, you're still going to see a possible loot cache which has rifle parts, bullet tips, some bandages, ears of corn, steel tool parts and that just may be all you get.
If you're trying to use the calculator, you need to DOWNLOAD the spreadsheet.

Anyhow, hope you realize how important getting good information is... since TFP won't tell us how their game works, we rely on you!
Best Channel
I was wondering if having more points into a skill would further increase your chance of finding those skill books... looks like it does indeed, thanks for the verification :D
That ending was nasty!
Can I take a guess that the Burnt forest biome has a 1.25 multiplayer and a +5 loot bonus?
Got better at the game.
Multiplyer:
Pine Forest *1
Burnt Forest *1.5
Desert *1.5
Snow *2
Wasteland *2.5
Flat Bonus:
Pine Forest +0
Burnt Forest +10
Desert +10
Snow +20
Wasteland +30
As we can see the burnt forest Matches the Desert.
Why not include the burnt forest biome as the 1/2 skull multiplier? Does it not affect loot stage?
does biome and poi also influence zombie lootbags because if you build a horde base on a lvl 5 poi in the wastedland you would get the best loot
Very important, thank you.
Hi, I'm curious why the Burnt Forest isn't included as one of the biomes...
what about buried treasure [from the map.. not the trader quest] and from air drops? i tend to get better stuff from the treasure maps than i do from end loot of a poi.. and the air drops tend to be way better in this alpha than in previous
Wonder if you can solve my biggest mystery regarding loot. When should you use eye Candy? When does the game calculate what loot is in a container? Does it matter your loot stage when you enter a POI, or only when opening the container?
It's when you open the container.
Best way to use eye candy is to clear out 3 or 4 POI's but don't open safes, crates and the POI end loot piles. Then put on your loot goggles, pop a jail breaker and eye candy. Go back and loot all the containers you didn't open yet.
So does the Burnt Forest count as the Wasteland even if you are not in the city areas?
Thanks man, great tips
A very helpful video, thank you very much.
Very cool. When can we expect forever skies coverage?
Next week 🙂
I've got lucky looter 5 and I've been finding a lot of weapons that I can't currently craft. so if am already at the max loot stage while in pine forest. Going to other zones won't matter then.
Thank you!
Thank you very much !
Is there an update coming for 1.0?
Are there currently a hug where trade quest rewards are pretty pool even for higher loot stages for everyone?
at which point in the game stage can you find vehicle parts.
Does anyone know how the perk loot bonuses work in multiplayer? From my experience so far with 3 players we get each other's magazines about as often as our own
What the hell are you running(PC)? This FPS is nuts and so smooth for these ingame clips.
lucky looter's looting speed incrase is S-tier even in early game if you focus on fast leveling
@@mbos14 so that would then loot population occurs on opening then....hhmm ok thanks.
@@bttmlesspit25 made one mistake said snow biome twice instead of one snow biome one forest biome. God how did i mis that the first time.
But yes the loot isnt calculated until the loot container is opened.
@@mbos14 thanks
so...uh...how long did it take you to set out this horrendously huge layout of loot example hubs. satisfying and rediculous :D
I need help I’m running 7DTD alpha 21 stable on my steam deck while playing the game the frame rates drop and the game play slows down and after a little bit it goes back to normal speeds it’s pretty annoying .any advice on how I can fix that I would appreciate it . Ps. I have all setting on default
did they get rid of night vision? i've yet to see it in 21 days
the link for the loot table calculator not working?
What level of motorcycle accessories are available
HOLY LOOT TABLE
thx Great info and spreadsheet
Thank you
So you have to remember what item has an increased chance of popping up in a loot container at a certain loot stage. It doesn't mean you will find that particular item - you only get an increased chance. If there's a hundred items that can show up inside a certain loot container, you still have a one in a hundred chance that item will even show up.
So for example if you're doing a tier 5 quest in the forest biome and you open the last big loot container, you're still going to see a possible loot cache which has rifle parts, bullet tips, some bandages, ears of corn, steel tool parts and that just may be all you get.
yep, like he explained in the video, some stuff drops from the loot table, some gets added and some things like "junk" you just get higher quantities.
You da real mvp
Thank you for your information video
I like the book levling i love how they change the teir 5
