Hi Hilton, thanks to your video I successfully attempted to change the grill on my XF. I would not normally try this but your video helped loads. Many thanks.
Hey there, it makes me really happy to hear this. This is why I share these videos on UA-cam in the hope that it will help someone wanting to do the same thing. I didn't have anything to go on when doing this and the guys on the forums were warning its a two-man job - but I think I showed it can be done by one's self ;-) Thanks for watching.
Nice job with the install of the grill. I have a Jag 2015 XF Sport, and I am noticing a visible gap between the front bumper and the underside of the front headlights. Any advice on how to fix this issue, wondering if I need to remove my entire front bumper and reinstall like you did here.
Chances are you bumper needs a realignment. But your facelift model has a different setup to mine. UA-cam how to remove an XF bumper and your model should come up. There are more screws that are hidden that need to be undone and there one in particular behind the fender and headlights which is difficult to get to. My guess is that bolt is probably missing or fell out on your car which could have caused the sagging. Generally these bumpers fit pretty snug even without the screws.
Thanks Simon. People are quick to give thumbs down and criticize one's videos but they have no idea how difficult it is trying to get done and film it in an orderly way as well. Sometimes I get carried away and forget to grab the camera and film 😂
I'm looking to wrap the grille on my 09 xfs. I've owned 2 X-types before this car and was afraid I would need to access the inner wheel arches in order to get the bumper off. You're videos are very insightful.
Thanks. The rear bumper is a bit different. Here's a link to the manuals on my website - the workshop manual will give you diagrams on how to remove it www.hiltoncamons.com/jaguar-xf-workshop-manuals.php
The grill badge is stuck on with double sided tape. It has two locating pins that stick out the back of the badge to ensure correct alignment. Usually new badges don't come with tape so make sure you have some to stick it back on the car.
Hi Hilton, my car was in a service where my front bumper was painted, when i get the car from service error "check pedestrian system" appeared. Its possible that they forget to plug something?
Hi Hilton, Can you let me know if removing the front bumper will allow me to change the washer fluid level sensor? I've got a 'low washer fluid' warning on where the reservoir is full so the sensor looks to be faulty. Just wondering if you ever saw this when taking the bumper off? Or if anyone else has any experience with this? Great videos and really detailed. Thanks.
Hey there. the washer bottle and sensor are located in the wheel well of the XF, so removing the bumper won't be necessary. I recall stumbling across a video on YT a while back where a guy showed how to access it - here's the link, I'm sure this will help you. ua-cam.com/video/zNe_eQf-9ZU/v-deo.html
Perfect thank you. I'm sure that will help. Had the XF for about 6 years now and a few issues starting to crop up but overall still loving it. Fitting my first LEDs soon thanks to your video and will also be replacing the door latches as some of the doors are not locking/unlocking properly.
brucelee04 Wow, 6 six hey? I've had mine 4 and am the second owner. I have noticed these cars like to be garaged. If they stand out in the cold, issues will arise ;-)
@@carfanfan was there enough room to get a piece of card to protect the radiator from paint, as I plan to plasti dip mine. Great job by the way, not something I would fancy doing to my XF,
@@JoePineappless Yes, you can definitely get a piece of cardboard. Plastidip will look good initii, but when it peels, it will be a pain to get it of the grid. If I were you, just replace the grill with a black one then you know it will always look that way.
Hilton hi Hilton, I think you are right, I’m going to get a black grill rather than paint it. Like you said, just that piece of mind that it’s permanent Cheers for the advice All the best Jeff
@@JoePineappless Definitely not. I almost broke my arm and had deep gawges in my arm from trying to do a top down. It's best to remove the bumper. When you do, you can also clean the undercover tray so two for the price of one 😜😂
Great video and details.... do you know how can we reach the parking sensors? Do we need to remove the front bumper as well? I have an XF 5.0 and one of the front parking sensors has been pushed in. Thanks for your help!!
Thanks Behzad - I'm afraid your bumper must be removed to repair your parking sensor. If it's pushed in, the plastic bracket that's attached to the inside of the bumper is probably broken (but you will need to check this by removing the bumper) - if not, you might be lucky enough to just push it back or find a way to affix it flush with the bumper again - but this needs to be done from the inside of the bumper. You can go to my website www.hiltoncamons.com to the Jaguar link in the menu and download the Jaguar XF manual - it should show you how the sensor is attached to the bumper and this will help you figure it out.
Thanx i change the grill but yet again u didnt actually show us the removal of upper grill ! This is a bumper removal vid ? But mine is a 2013 and there were 2 major 10mm bolts hidden inside the wheel arch and a pain to find and get out. But i managed, and grill off is easy with a few torx screws to remove 😂
Good day Hilton. i am looking for a front grille for the XF as well as the bottom engine cover and LH inner fender cover. Any response to locate these parts will be appreciated. Thank you very much for this video, it surely made the task at hand easier.
Hello Nuy, I'd suggest looking at AliExpress for the grille - get a black one, they're super cool. As for the under cover, I'd suggest eBay. Even better, if you have a breakers yard close to where you live, I'd contact them to see if you can get the cover there rather. I bought my replacement tail light from a breakers yard and it still works great after a year!
I'm afraid the bumper has to come off for that. The trim is clipped onto the grill, so you need to remove the entire bumper, as well as the grill which then gives you access to the clips holding the outer trim in. They don't unclip easily, so be careful.
Hey Lee. It is. I did it. But be prepared to get hurt. You have to get your whole arm in there and the bumper will press hard against it. Not pleasant but I pulled it off.
You honestly should do a video on how you do it. It will help so many people out there. That's why I do videos as well. To help guys out there who want to do it themselves as well.
Thomas Haile Thanks for watching. You post a link here to pics or a video on your car so we can check it out. I've always wondered what those chrome LEDs are like and if they're any good. Why don't you do a video for us to see ;-)
It just had a few clips holding onto the bumper that need to be unclipped. I'll be doing a video soon on my XFR on how to remove the bumper and will show removing the grill in more detail.
I really wish he showed how to disconnect that parking sensor power plug! LMAO....I am having a hard time with it. UPDATE: For anyone having a hard time, all you do is slide the red part back and then pull the pieces apart! LMAO! It was simple once I got it.
Thanks for sharing the tip. Yeah, unfortunately I didn't remove my parking sensors as I didn't need to. Had I done it, I would have shown you guys. I'll be taking my XFR's bumper off in the coming months as it needs a spray job - so will show how to take it apart as well ;)
Watch my later video I did on my white XFR. There I show how to remove the entire bumper as well as the chrome trim. I wrapped mine in gloss black. But painting them is probably a better solution.
The funny thing is that you did everything on your old grey XF that I am planning to do on mine in the next couple of month, you are amazing!
Thanks man. Your XF is going to look awesome 😉

Hi. great video. I ask what size red growler badge did you buy in mm please?
It was so long ago, but I think it was the 70mm badge. The larger 85mm didn't fit if memory serves me correctly.
Hi Hilton, my car was in a service where my front bumper was painted, when i get the car from service error "check pedestrian system" appeared. Its possible that they forget to plug something?
Yes, absolutely. One of the many plugs is not connected on the bumper. Take it back and have them remove the bumper again. It's the only way to check
