I love this yarn! I crochet and knit, but this loop yarn works up so much faster for projects . I've always just used the stockinette stitch, but cannot wait to try this pattern. Thankyou for sharing.
I cannot wait to try out this yarn! The more videos I see makes me wanna play with it. Would luv to do baby blankets in this. Thank, Mikey...you rock!!!
I googled “cable knit pattern looping yarn” and the first result was a website that did not seem to show the correct directions. It shows the correct end result in the glamor pictures, but the instructions are unclear. This video was the second result (but first video result) and it shows it all! I can’t wait to try it out and I loved this video. Makes the stitch look easy! Hello from a new subscriber!
I'm glad it was able to help you. I find there is a lot of mock-websites that grab posts from others, including our own site and reformat them. Sounds like you may have seen one of those sites first.
@@TheCrochetCrowd I saw it on Pinterest and it baffled me because it didn’t look the same in the instructions versus what was in pictures. I’m glad I found your video. Planning on any other looping projects? I found crocheting and knitting hard, but the looping yarn and finger knitting seem to be easy enough for my add riddled brain to get and understand.
Love your videos! Learning a ton with the softest yarn! I see a new a new bathroom rug in my near future, that is after I finish our comforter with this amazing yarn! 😁💞
So classy absolutely love this look! I bought the yarn but didn't start yet because i wasn't sure how many skeins n how long to make the rows because its not for a baby n i love this one best. Great idea thnx so much! Untill now i thought all these blankets would looks the same. I never know how to just keep things simple n easy anyway lol
@@carolhubbard2536 thank you thats been helpful. I believe i bought 8 so far of two different color schemes n so far they're still in the box. Ill wait till i get the rest before i start. Thank you so much for the help. Im a beginner crocheter so I haven't learned quite how to estimate the size of yarn it takes.
I've never crocheted or knitted before, but this product and your videos have me inspired! I have not been able to find any details about how many loops a foundation row should be to get the width I desire. The projects I find are varied and I assume it depends on the stitch type. I would love to do an entire afghan in this beautiful cable stitch. Assuming a 56" width, how many loops should my foundation row have? THANK YOU for your great videos using this new product!
Can you do this in reverse of what you’ve shown? I always start my yarn with the tail on the left. Would I need to cross the loops with the left loop on top of the right if I did the rows opposite of yours?
Hi Michael...I am starting this in the morning and your videos are so helpful. I was wondering how I finish the blanket with this technique? Sorry I don’t know the exact terms, I am new to this and have taken up crafting as a way to calm my anxiety through some health issues.
@@roseanngrinnan8238 nope not a word so my blanket is done except for the edges. It’s the size I want and it’s just sitting in my closet. If you figure it out please let me know
I use 6 or 7 skeins depending on the person I made the blanket for. What I noticed is that each skein created roughly 1 foot or 12 inches tall of 60 inches width.
Susan Katsock I would imagine there is a tutorial somewhere on the basic way to cast off with this yarn using a knit stitch I would just make sure to end on a knit row but maybe it doesn’t matter. I just pulled the previous loop through the next loop, and then knit a loop and then grab a loop from the blanket or project, then pull that through, and so on. It’s like basic casting off if you’ve ever crocheted or knitted before it seems very similar to me
They hold up realy well, I have only done the knit stich which is just the basic stich and is recomended for beginners and ive made two big blankets and they hold up reallly well.
Is there a way to make this without using loop it yarn? I tried with the bernat blanket, basically doing the same thing, but actually knitting and it did not look the same. If anyone has a pattern, I would be willing to pay for it, or suggestions would be great. I can't seem to find a knit afghan pattern for this yarn that I like. Thanks in advance!
@@TheCrochetCrowd thanks for your response. I really liked the way it looked so I went ahead and got some loop yarn and made one. I am determined to try and figure out a way to knit something similar with regular knitting =)
Yes. I just tried an idea and it worked. When you get to the end of a row, open up the next two loops using scissors. Cut the current skein color after the 2nd loop you just opened up. Do the same with the next color you want to add. Take those two tails of yarn and tie them together, then continue looping as you were using the new color as you were doing with the previous color as if nothing changed. Repeat this process for each time you want to change colors.

Not right at the Moment. Jonah Larsen is the host for Yarnspirations in this category. I bet he has so much stuff coming.

Can't wait to start this! Great tutorials on this technique.
This is the next type blanket I’m making!
Excellent. It's Fun.
Great tutorial. Love this pattern and am making a blanket in the colors of a variegated slate gray
That's great.
This pattern is beautiful and so easy! It also has the added benefit of making it easy to see if you’ve missed a loop.
You are totally right.
Great video, so clear and nicely paced, thank you!

Se ve facil y queda bonito .
This seems to be Tunisian by hand. Interesting. I will have to try this.
Do you start your first row with a slip knot?

So it’s knit a row, cross and knit, and then knit stich and the then cross and knit?
could i add regular chunky yarn ? it’s not loop 🤔
how do you know how many loops to count for starting a blanket?
is that stitch suitable for men? i want to start knitting a scarf for men with loop yarn
or that yarn only fit for women because of its softness ??
I luv this... How many skeins of yarn does it take to make a twin size blanket and how much approx does each skein cost?
I use 6 or 7 skeins depending on the person I made the blanket for. What I noticed is that each skein created roughly 1 foot or 12 inches tall of 60 inches width.
What am I missing - how did you create the original row - before you started threading the loops through each other?
Count your loops for your piece then start looping from back to front. Next row will be the criss-cross row.
How do I cast off to finish the blanket?

Can this be done in checkered pattern? Or stripes?
How many loops would you start with for a twin size blanket?
I use 60 loops across (each loop is approx 1"). Each skein creates roughly 12 rows (or 1ft/12in tall when using 60 loops across)
What's vargated yarn?

Is there an easy way to change colors to make a striped blanket?
Nitting
