  • On this week's Technado, Wi-fi QR codes are coming to Windows 11, and older Windows 10 PCs might have to migrate to ChromeOS. In other news, Linux is now a CVE numbering authority, joining ranks with the likes of Curl and Python.
In the world of cybersecurity, it's all flaws, all the time: there's a new critical Microsoft Outlook RCE bug that's "trivial" to exploit. ConnectWise ScreenConnect also fell victim to some critical flaws. And finally, WordPress got pwned - a critical flaw impacted over 25k sites using the "Bricks" theme.

8:10 cash, cursive, and stick shifts. The world would be so much better.

Never liked cursive tbh, people are either calligraphers or make stuff illegible

Daniel always makes good sense (something that we very rarely see in this clown world)!

So, I'll go out on a limb - at 29 minutes in you guys joke about people who are laughing at you for not knowing Mitre farmed out CVE numbering to large, interested parties. I've been in IT for over 20 years and didn't even know who Mitre was...

Thanks for a great conversation. I’m watching various IT Pro videos and playlists and ended up here. Haha
Lots of new channels on my learning journey, so it’s hard to keep straight. 😅

If I have to deploy it in AWS then I can just use AWS WAF or do you recommend to install the other WAF?

I still have so many episodes to go through since I subscribed. There is a reason to be careful what and how one goes about commenting since it is not only ethical hackers watching this but the bad boys. What gets me though is why so few comments on a channel with over 150k subs. reason why I like ITPro is because they explain things better... so for people like me it is a useful source, in that they validate what I know and deal with but they do their research

If it's free, you're the product, not the customer. Especially from Google, Meta.

Thats the view of a socialist. The reality is that progress and Innovation allows services to become cheaper over time. UA-cam is free because the cost of servers has come down allowing anyone to upload videos for free. People use Google search because it's the best search engine. If you don't like it then don't use if, make your own service or product.

While I don’t disagree, I assume you’re paying for your UA-cam and gmail..?

@@ashman2023 Heck no... I wouldn't give Google a dime. I use ad blockers in UA-cam, and I don't use gmail at all.

quishing is phishing but using QR codes. relatively new, but yes as will all things tech... it can be used for good or bad... essentially a form of Steganography...
