I’m African American my ancestors was enslaved during the transatlantic slavery! Our ancestors was separated from our tribes and language! So most of us don’t know where our ancestors came from unless we take our DNA 🧬 test! So I did to my surprise my biggest DNA 🧬 is Nigerian, Igbo, Benin Togo, and Cameroon! No I want to learn my ancestors language and culture! I want to thank you for doing these tutorials.
This woman makes me believe that I can actually learn this language! Thumbs up!
Bam
Thank you for making this! I’ve half Nigerian & Igbo and I was never taught Igbo, so this is a great resource for me. There’s not many out there. Daalu!
Thank you so much, Onye nkuzi for these videos. They really help! I would also like more videos on forming sentences. I grew up hearing Igbo, so I know a good amount of verbs but I'm not good with conjugating them and using them in sentences. Anything you can do will be appreciated.
We are working on a course that includes detailed instruction on conjugation.
Loved this lesson! Could you possibly do one for the evening as well? I am trying not only to learn Igbo but I am also trying to teach my children Igbo. If you could do one specifically for bedtime that would be much appreciated! Thank you and God bless
Excellent video. Could you do more conversation videos. Like a conversation about going to the market or meeting the inlaws
Thanks. Ok, will do
I meela. This video is great since we are still in the house and have to wake up to seeing family more often. Daalu.
wow wow I didn't know there was tutorial and actually the Igbol language and I'm excited just knowing the basic stuff like hello , good morning ,how are you? where is this or where is that Very good . I think I'm satisfied you should continue doing this.
Thank you
😊🙏🏾
I like the conversations though they are a little hard to remember and a little hard to say but
I am trying.
Thank you. The more you encounter them, the easier they will get
Great video
Thanks 😊🙏🏾
Good
You're a fab teacher...your PRONOUNCIATIONs are on point. Very easy to learn from. I wish you can offer personal lessons.
Thanks for this video
I love it❤
More basic greetings pls
Ok, will see what I can do 😊
I liked the lesson and I have subscribed. I would like you to repeat the Main phases at least 3 times. In the beginning, And again at the end. And all of the sentences in between at least twice. Great job!! I liked the way you started it from waking up. I would love to see the progression for a whole day and then the different experiences and conversations different members of the family may engage in via their many interactions throughout the day.. Again, awesome job. Daalu.
Nne Chukwu gozie gi naha Jesus. Imela.
Hello, this was great. I have notice that I make English sentences with Igbo words and of course that is incorrect. If you could do a sentence structure on when to use certain words if the verb comes before the subject. EX: sie nri ututu (cook food morning) translates to cook breakfast. Thank you.
I agree
Thank you for this lessons! Personally I would like to see a breakdown of the sentences with the meaning of individual words if possible
Good video
Very very Good 😃😋🥛 I really Appreciate your lesson !
Hello ma, thankyou for your wonderful lessons. I would be so happy if you could teach us more sentences with replies. I have noticed it is easier to learn if it's a conversation.
I like this language, and now I'm living here in África, I wanna know this language.
Thank You!! It was really helpful
Nice
Does anyone here speak delta Igbo? It's a little bit different from the Igbo language but mostly the same. Is "wake up" said in the same way as delta Igbo?
Great video! I me ofuma! Can you make videos regarding grammar? Such as using past tense, etc.
Thank you for this video. Would like to see some grammar lessons also. Do you take one on one lessons?
Would love more videos to do with the alphabet. Imeela.

Is there a traditional way of saying good afternoon and good evening?
Well it depends on situation. If someone comes to your house morning, afternoon or evening, ofc you would want to say welcome. So that's Nnọo or Ala(in nsukka dialect.) In the afternoon or evening, let's say you're passing someone, the person could be working in their shops or whatever so you say weldone. Depends on the dialect. I think it's daalu in central. I know in nsukka it's maje oru. In the evening, when you're about to leave each other, someone says ka Chi foo(let the day break break), and then the other person replies ka o boo.
If this is for teaching, then you're going to fast... I understand it's a practice conversation BUT, IT IS A LEARNING SESSION???
You can slow the audio down like this -- Click on the gear icon ⚙️ ( settings) on the video >> Playback speed >> 0.75 or less. You also have to realise that in real life, no one will speak Igbo slowly. You will need to train your ears with both slow , normal and fast audio. I hope this helps. You can do this! 💪🏾
Also, could you not type in CAPS next time? Typing in CAPS comes across as shouting. Thanks :)
It's not yelling it's just putting emphasis I didn't know you can hear the letters that's powerful🤓
