Worm bins and compost piles are the best options for innoculating biochar.

They really seem to get the job done. They are full of microbial life, aren't? Thanks for watching and commenting IowaKeith.🙂

Beautiful entourage! - From what I was able to observe, the biochar was just placed on, not mixed with, the vermicompost. - How is that procedure sufficient for activating the biochar? Thanks

Well, I kind of scracthed it in as a thin layer, so it was all in contact with the castings if not buried a little. The microbes and nutrients came up from the backdoor, if you will. I didn't mix it totally in because it would have been difficult to get it all out because I didn't want to harvest the castings yet. It really brought up the temperature in the compost pile so I think the microbes moved in. If that wasn't enough, the time in the compost surely finishe off the activation process. New question: Can biochar filter NANO plastics from water... good luck saving the planet y'all.

Great question! Wouldn't that be nice. I hate finding plastic in my Garden. When I do it makes me thunk of all the plastic I'm not seeing. Here's a link that I came across.
