Nice Vienna Vlogs. Hopefully you're going to visit Vienna a lot more often, because there literally are 1000 more things, like museums, the Danube island, the Kalenberg, the Wienerwald, the mountains within a 2h surrounding, the real viennese Beisl's and Cafes, the clubs, the Prater, the parks, aso, to discover in and around Vienna. Then there are a 100% different cultural and 1000 other sights if you visit the rest of Austria ;)

It has never come to my mind, that the word "Rathaus" for "city hall" can be associated with a "house of rats". That's hilarious!
Well, from a certain political point of view this can make perfect sense. 😁
The German word "[der] Rat" (which you correctly pronounced with an elongated "ahhh") can mean either "advice" or - in this case - "council".
So the literal translation would be "council house".
The muroid rodent on the other hand is called "[die] Ratte (pl.: Ratten)". 🙂
