Too often people play racquets how they would like to play but not how they play. I see so many RF97 players out there, that have no where near the physical attributes note technique to utilize the frame.
Again wrong, I play with RF 97, that racket isn't a beast at all. I have also modded the racket to add more weight and I rarely go back to stock. Infact one should start with a lighter frame and add leadtape until you can get the frame you want. It all depends on your style of game. For me RF 97 is perfect, I can't play with lighter frames with no stability.
As an intermediate player coming from a heavier racquet (Pro Staff 6.0 95 original) to a Babolat Drive Z Lite and now to a Babolat Pure Drive Lite, I find a lighter racquet to be easier to use as to spin and power. As I age, I need a racquet that helps me easy access to power and spin. I guess as some people say it is about personal preference and I would say that to be true to me. I was fan of Sampras during his era and I now keep my Pro-Staffs as collector items (I have both the 85 and 95 6.0 Pro-Staff original). Both are heavier racquets (12 oz. or over) and are preferred by more advanced players.
Great content. I was on the Head web site earlier in the week and took an assessment of my style of play. I was matched with the Head Extreme MP, and that's going to be my next racket. I have always used Head rackets, beginning with the old XRC (their first graphite racket) and later the Edgewood. I play with an older Head Pro now, but am looking to upgrade to the Extreme. While they recommend stringing the Extreme at 50 pounds, I'm going lower, to 40 pounds and using a softer string.
Funny, when I was a kid I used to compete with 330 - 340 g (unstrung and head heavy) racket and I had absolutely no issue with it. Then (in 90s) heavy rackets were standard. And these 330 g heavy rackets were considered to be light. Think of it. Nowadays we are overthinking everything too much. We have killer and very light rackets compared to what we had in 90s and we are looking for issues where there are really no issues.
Probably one of your best reviews ever. Auxetic made speed so solid. Great solid connected feel with filtering vibrations. I am very glad that it did it’s magic even on lighter sticks like mp lite. Coupled with a heavier string like lynx tour it would be an awesome easy to use stick for tournaments. I am only curious if it works for 1HB.

Great review! I used to look for these types of rackets, maybe in the 280/290g because they are so much easier to take to the court and also because with lead tape you can actually adapt the racket to your game everytime you feel something's wrong

@@Tennisnerd I’ve reviewed a few racquets on my channel and my game is still recovering. 😂. I’ve always wondered if I could play well against big hitters with a light racquet. The heavier frames just give me more confidence as I know I get tight and my swing speed slows down.

I don't understand why more people don't start with a lighter racket, and then customize it to spec with silicone and lead. It seems like that's one of the primary advantages to ligher prostock hairpins - the ability to polarize the weight distribution, add some damping with silicone in the handle, get the SW just right at the right static weight. What am I missing? Why isn't this the standard for gear nerds?
Sir, I enjoy the detail associated with your work. I noticed a sign with the Fischer logo. In the 90's they made some nice mid and mid-plus racquets. I believe Yevgeny Kafelnikov used one. If I'm not mistaken, it was an Austrian based company. I play tested one and regret not buying 10. Do you know anything about their racquet line, if they still make any at all? Thanks so much.
I'm not Jonas, but so you know, all Fischer molds were bought by Pacific at some point in time. You can get a Pacific racquet right now, but won't get that desirable logo though.
So I have started to look around. And currently I play the Wilson burn v4 in both the spin and the 100. I like the feel but an nothing now that I am lacking a lot of power. Would this racquet be something to consider? I play a heavy back hand slice but also hit a two handed with top spin. Service wise, I am a very big slice serve player.

Hello super video, do you prefer Head Extreme Mp Lite (285gr) o Tecnifibre Tf-x1 (285 gr ) in termins of control and comfort, power I think will be similar . Your answer is very important for me, thanks
I think racquets are being built and marketed all wrong. The average 3.0 all the way to 4.5 player are just fine with racquets under 300 g unstrung. However based on product availability and marketing, we’re lead to believe 300g is the starting point for any serious player. It’s simply not true. My strokes look a lot more like Kyrgios than they do Fed, Djoker, Stan, etc. If he can use a 300-315g racquet unstrung then so can I. Us amateur players need as absolutely much racquet head speed as humanly possible. We don’t need more stability at sub 5.0 tennis.
heavy racket crap is a falacy. All pros play with heavier frames and high swingweight and that's how they generate power and spin. If you are 4.5+ level player and have decent technique going for greater weight will only help your game. One should maximize the swingweight for your level of game. Also new rackets are just branding exercise, racket tech hasn't changed much infact some of the older frames were much better. Case in point the original Pro Drive was a perfect racket and Babolat has made it worse through the years. Rest is just paintjob changes, we all know none of the pros play with these frames anyway. TN is right on the fact find a custom frame that suits your game style though.
In 90s when I was a kid I competed with 330-340 g (unstrung) racket and it was completely normal back then. Everyone actually said these were very light rackets compared what rackets had been few years before.
