Thanks, Colin! I’ll rub oil on your fretboard anytime 😉
Love seeing you guys on location and having a blast
There's a tele I built laughing at me while I watch this, as it does have the "take the whole neck off".
I love my cradle cube and music nomad supplies
I only have Music Nomad's neck cradle and string cutter thus far, having bought other tools prior to my knowledge of them (and primarily using Planet Waves Auto-Trim locking tuners, hence the newness of the string cutter), and I plan to buy more (nut files, notched straights, and fret-leveling beam) because they provide a much-needed, more-affordable alternative to Stewart MacDonald.
Welcome to the Philippines!
Great stuff! 😎
Love me some music nomad gear! As someone who is learning to set up my instruments, their stuff has been a godsend 😊
I love the Drink Breaks haha the rest of the vid is FIX THE FERRULES Jeez! Truth!
I really thought with how long the vid was you would go into subjects like Intonation- String Height - etc but chillin on an Island you got lots of more video time to do this haha stay as long as you can and enjoy- the world is still rotating!
How much food dye in the Buckfast to make it orange?
Amazing
what a beautiful place
Cool video can't believe you were in the Philippines.
Neither can I, it was a wonderful experience and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming.
I hope to be back again some day.
I’ve made ferrules before out of those reusable stainless steel drinking straws.
Damn, didnt know he went to my home country. 😅
Got to go shopping at Sweetwater for maintenance kits
Wow.....
WOW! Music Nomad Tools rules!😎👍
Ah more schillery... or is that chivalry? I always mix the two up. Probably one is as good as the other.
I left behind a couple of t-shirts so I could fit these tools into my suitcase, I now use them on all my set ups at home. This video is my first exposure to the brand and I was thoroughly impressed.
@@ScienceofLoud Sorry if it didn't come through right, but it was meant in the same vein as the thumbnail on your last video, not seriously.
Oi, serious TATA here, because I can't find jack about it and honestly dont know if you've covered it.. What the hell is a rack fx rig? The only thing I know is that it goes... after the cab I think. And the only reason I even know they exist is because of rocksmith tone creator nearly a decade ago. And why don't we seem to hear about them in the community? Are they just obsolete now? Or major live gig/studio only kind of gear?
Please forgive me for beginning with the obvious. A rack effects rig is a collection of one or more effects units in a rack. Though some half and quarter width effects units exist, most are the standard 19-inch width with varying heights measured in units of height: 1U is 1.75 inches. This standard is similar to the one for rackmount computing, though computer racks typically include rails at the front and rear whereas effects racks only have rails at the front (and are typically considerably shallower than computer racks).
If you are familiar with discussion of amp effects loops, then you have probably heard them described with regard to their level: typically, the lower level (instrument level, -10dBu) is for pedals and the higher level (line level, +4dBu) is for rackmount effects units (the Soldano SLO was known for decades as being designed for rackmount units rather than pedals, though Michael Soldano eventually addressed that). Rackmount effects have long been a staple of recording and mastering studios (e.g. rackmount mic preamps and equalizers), PA systems, and live recording; stage usage peaked from the mid '80s through the early '90s (e.g. rackmount guitar preamps and power amps). Well-funded bands often had large, heavy "fridges" and the staff to haul them. Though rackmount effects can be used in various junctures in the signal chain due to the variety of effects units available, they tend to be used in an amp's effects loop on stage (unless the rack contains a preamp) and in a mixer's bus (i.e. after the microphone recording the cab) in the studio. You can see plenty of such effects in Premier Guitar's Rig Rundown videos for well-funded bands and Sound on Sound's Studio Tour (I think that is the title) videos.
I apologize for my redundant sentence structure caused by recent sleep deprivation. If you enjoyed this explanation, then please consider subscribing to the channel I hope to launch formally in the next month or two (I am still working out how to fund the initial equipment) with which I will teach electric guitarists about gear: A Song of Strings and Wire. I hope Colin will not mind my mentioning that channel here.
I love the video, but there is no way my fat a** would be in the hot a** sun suffering to fix a guitar.
Every part of that guitar is gonna be set up wrong when it cools back down inside.
@@UndarZ which is why we only played it outside, on the beach, in the sun 😉
I lost 15lbs water weight in this video, all that came out of my forehead 😂
Bold of you to assume it was cooler anywhere inside on that island.
@@UndarZ Temperature change alone does next to nothing, it is the humidity changes that (can) make a difference...
Sorry, but Maui mangoes are best
