Houston ISD to hire non-certified teachers ahead of school year

- Houston ISD is looking to fill some classrooms with non-certified teachers. The request must first go through the school board and the Texas Education Agency would grant the final approval. FOX 26's Natalie Hee has more on families heading back to school this month who have mixed opinions.

$60K for NON-Certified teachers?
Excuse me but can I reduce my school taxes because the schools are mismanaged?

My cert expired and $60K still isn’t enough for me to go in those classrooms. You don’t need the cert to actually do the job
@@arie7687 You need certified teachers if you are teaching a subject that is TESTED by the state. Math, science, reading and writing absolutely need certified teachers and even then, the learners fail state test.
I just got out the military. I’m applying for jobs and they’re messaging me 3 times about being a teacher

This is funny people want to disapprove of this but during the COVID homeschooling uncertified parents were teaching their kids. They should applaud these uncertified teachers for their dedication to education.

This man’s goal is to put kids at home on a computer and not have a real teachers give them a quality education
I think it would be a good idea to peer an uncertified teacher with a veteran teacher. With the experience they would be getting in the classroom it would help with getting certified. Also, I've met some uncertified teachers who have been teaching for awhile. They actually know what and how to teach
Don't nobody want to teach these kids with no home training
The certified teachers went where they are appreciated.
HISD has failed my children and its students. I should be collecting the thousands of dollars in government funds that were allocated for my daughter to go to school. I don’t feel comfortable putting my kids in this kind of environment so I decided to teach them at home. I should be compensated for this. I believe the HISD is still collecting money on my daughters name.
