Outstanding. Very simple to follow and guitar sounds great! I've wanted to learn this beautiful song. Now it is within my reach. Thank you so much. Very helpful video.
Great tutorial to a great song without those technical "musician" thing by most pure guitarist who have a tendency of showing off than teaching. Good job young man.
In my opinion, Paul Simon re-invented “folk music” in the 1960s. I know that a lot of people say “Bob Dylan this, and Bob Dylan that”, but Paul Simon (along with Art Garfunkel’s otherworldly voice) shaped the poetic conscience of a generation. I’m a huge Beatles’ fan, but Paul Simon wrote about whimsy (“Cloudy”, “Punky’s Dilemma”, to name a couple) as effectively as he wrote about more serious themes of our time (alienation of “Sound of Silence”, “The Boxer”, “I Am a Rock”, “Dangling Conversation”, etc). No one, outside of McCartney and Lennon, directly (not obscurely) wrote about these things. And what does all of this have to do with your excellent tutorial on “For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her”? Well, a trademark of Paul Simon’s songs is that musically, they were beautiful to the ear, and poetically, they were challenging to the mind. Simply put, they appealed as much to the heart as they did the head. “For Emily” is beautiful. It is a rich masterpiece in its ethereal, dream like imagery. I’m sure that everyone, who loves Simon and Garfunkel and who plays a guitar, will be following your precise and methodical instructions, and will be adding this beauty to their repertoire. Thank you for your time and expertise and for keeping such poetic music alive!
wow I thank you so much... this is my favorite song of theirs.. and you do it so beautifully, I cant believe that I can actually play it now.. I hope that you do more videos..
Man! Thanks a lot! I’m a beginner (played for like 1 week) and thanks to you I can now play my favourite song of all times. Man you’re amazing! My fingers do hurt tho😅
As with most of Paul Simon's songs, the guitar picking is important. I know the chords, but the 4-2-1-2 sequence is critical. Thanks for the lesson. BTW, in another YT posting, the guy seems to suggest that the only way to play this song is with a Guild 12-string acoustic guitar. I was on my way to Guitar Center, but I saw your video. : ] Just kidding.
Great tutorial he makes it easy to stick with it and not give up half way through and yes it’s nice to see a young man who loves Paul Simon songs
It's refreshing to hear a younger guy say this is his favourite S&G song,I shall learn this even though my picking ain't great ha ha
Thank you very much for sharing your technical skills in an easy way and with a great fidelity to Simon's first performance of this wonderful song.

dude your thumb is long af
Wonderful. Thanks much.
ok but not in the original key. sounds different
Of course not. The original is on a 12 string. You can't expect it to be the same.
Bring the capo to fret 5 and it is spot on for the live version! Great tutorial!!!
