45 Knots with 2 Mercury V8 250? Incredible! And only 2.14 lit per nm at 25 Knots! I can't believe! I have red that MOTEUR BOAT MAGAZINE made a test with 2 Honda 250: the boat reached 37,5 Knots with a fuel consumption of 2,7 lit/nm at 26 Knots. But with rough sea and 20-25 knots wind. What do you think maybe the performance, in calm sea conditions, with 2 Mercury 225 V6 ? Did you make a test also with these engines? Thank you!
This test was done in perfect condition (zero wind, current, waves). Honda can reach 42-44 kt easy on a calm sea. Still not so efficient as Verado (but not bad at all). We have never tested Mercury 225V6. We are running big props on low rpm. So I doubt V6 would have enough torque for such configuration.
@@terranauta_yachts thank you for your reply! Mercury 225 V6 has a displacement of 3,43 L and Honda 250 is also a V6 with a similar displacement of 3,58 L. I would therefore expect that the torque would be similar. However the Mercury 225 V6 has a weight of 216 kg while the Honda 250 V6 has a weight of 281 kg so overall there are 130kg less after the stern. This may help...
Kako ovi motori pjevaju! Milina za slušati !
