I got to use the battery powered husky the other day in a tree. I just really enjoy how quiet is compared to a 200 or 201. You can hear the ground guys even when you’re saw is cutting. Also love when you take your finger off a battery powered saw the chain stops!! Still hung up on the price though and having an extra battery and charger will run you the cost two 200’s

I have used both saws, thw gas has more torque but the rpm on the huskie are higher so just apply less pressure than a gas saw and you will cut the same speed. Its a little different and take some getting used to

Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 happy new year. I have Makita single battery top handle. I was a little disappointed at first. It’s good for what it is. Light and great for pruning. I own a few makita battery tools so I had extra battery’s. Definitely takes a little more Finesse. It beats us a hand saw on 3-5 in branches.

@Patrick what I really want to know is how they hold up over time. If and when the batteries get weak. If the chain keeps moving or stops all the time ( When it gets old) etc, etc
Please do a video on it at a later date. Maybe one at the end of the summers.
    Thank you for the video.

I cant speak on this 540i but I've been running the t536i husky for 7 years , still on the 2 original batteries I got with it , I can remove an average 40' canopy with 1 battery , will cut a 12-16'' branch/stem if needed , only drawback I've found is in sub freezing temps battery drains a little faster , this may have been addressed with the new 540 ,

I had a stihl tc192, loved it, I bought a husq 540xp gas I Love that saw too! I would show up to cut firewood with a couple buddies and at first they would laugh at me when I got the little saw out, until I cut circles around them and their "bigger" saws (one handed). I am no tree expert, but I do know my way around saws. Only factory saw I have now is my less than a year old 576xp. Which is a beast in a log

  • @williamgrissom1995

I'm surprised you put a safety chain on the 200t.
Torque and instant power are the advantages of electric motor saws and vehicles if the motor is big enough for the purpose.
The problem I see is time. With new saws come new batteries that often won't fit the older version of tool so they can sell more batteries. Where gas powered wont need to worry about fuel really as long as you can keep the the saw in running condition.
But either one will be fine if you upgrade regularly when needed.
But I am a 200t fan, even though I can't afford one now. The closest I will get to having a 200t again is the chinese clone of one. I bought the G111 clone of the 200t. Lol
Interesting video and like you said it will make a good pruning saw to save the wear and tear on the 200t. 😎👍

I have a 535iXP that I bought new and it has bee a TERD since day 1. I can only make a few cuts (always less than 10) and then it flashes the overheat signal and won't work again for 20 mins or so. Does not matter if it's summer or winter. Brought it to a dealer when it was still under warranty and they blamed the battery, not the saw. Took them almost a YEAR to get me a new battery (factory back order) now I am out of the warranty period, and the saw still won't do more than 10 cuts. Friend has one and his works great. Swap his battery for mine and his saw is still good and mine sucks. Husqvarna customer support won't help! They just refer me to a dealer. Dealer won't help because its out of warranty. Bought this new and have literally made less than 100 cuts with it. Total junk and even a "PRO" saw like this is no good and si I wasted a ton of money and Husq won't stand behind their product. Buyer Beware. By the way, I have a lot of other Husq equipment that has done well for me but this was a total waste. First time I splurged on Pro and just got hosed.

    • @matteswe
      @matteswe 3 роки тому +2

I found that you get like 30% less batterylife below -5 celsius (23 farenheit). But that only became a problem with the smaller battery that I was running. The big battery is almost double the Ah so it'll do fine for long even in lower temps. No change in power though from what I've experienced.

The husky is incredible. I use it on removals out here in the PNW. It does great on firs and I can even get away with chunking with it til I get into 14"+ wood. To be fair though, it struggles on bigger hard wood like maples, oaks and madrones. Still though, it's excellent.

I do like the idea of battery powered for trimming and smaller removal action if the weight difference is enough. I have no Idea about specs and pricing of the new battery powered saws, havnt done any research yet. Ive been hearing good things for sure so I figured give it another couple years and they'll probably be making some kick ass battery saws. Not overly impressed. 2.5kg without bar n battery must be on similar weight to the 200t if not a bit heavier. So lugging that big heavy saw round just to prune with? Sooner take the echo 2511tes or dcs2500t ,then if using for bigger cuts the t540ixp ain't going to last that long on a charge. probably could have a ported 200t or echo cs362tes for less money and it will piss over the t540ixp. The only benefit to battery is noise really. They both probably have similar running costs, batteries will be probably be goosed after a year of charging.🤷‍♂️
