As a retired Army physician with 34 years service, I readily see you have some characteristics that I wish I could teach/pass on to young doctors and Soldiers with whom I served. You have more moral courage than most anyone I have met. Moral courage is the trait to speak out for the right thing, morally and ethically, regardless of consequence. Always stand up for what is right, and don't compromise yourself. This is closely related to personal bravery, loyalty and integrity which you also strongly demonstrate with excellence. If one has not lived these values and learned them young, it is hard to teach them when older. It is clear your parents did well. This video was eye-opening for me. I did not know what all a content creator did. But regardless of how tough life can be, if everyone would approach their life with the commitment and joy you seem to do, it would be a much better world. Oh, and don't let anyone ever tell you that you are ugly, not pretty, etc. As an old Soldier and trying not to be a toxic male, I can say you have absolutely NO problems there. Wish you all the very best.

I just subscribed to your channel a few days ago. I hadn't seen your content before but I appreciate your takes on the Acolyte (I agree fully) & the few other videos I've been able to watch are dead on. Disney killed Star Wars & Marvel w more deaths to come unfortunately. This video was a great idea. I know I didn't get just how much time goes in to being a content creator. I don't think many ppl do. BTW $2.77 per 1k views & 12 - 14 hr days?Damn that's rough. I def am one of those who thought it paid better. But you're doing what you love for the most part. That's something. Anyways, I want to say Thank You for all your hard work. It shows in your videos. Also (and I know this won't keep the neg thoughts away) FCK the haters! That's one of the uglier sides of SM in general nevermind YT & ppl like you that put yourselves out there as often as you do. There have always been assholes but SM gives everyone the ability to be the biggest dick they can be all while hiding behind a username, ya know what I mean? You are talented. You are smart. And yes you are beautiful! Anyone who tells you different is either one of those hater assholes or jealous or both. Keep killing it SnarkyJay! I have no doubt you will. 🙂

      @tobytucker99 5 місяців тому

@@DamitFeelsGoodtobeaRaider All "influencers" are content creators, but all content creators are certainly NOT "influencers"! "Influencers" are paid shills trying to get you to buy something expensive that you absolutely DO NOT NEED. They will try and try to convince you otherwise. I mean, nobody will think you're one of the "Kool Kids" if you're not wearing this particular Brand of clothing, or wearing this particular Brand of shoes, or wearing or using this Brand or that Brand or some other Brand, etc, etc, etc. Sure, there of lots of folks who really, really WANT to be a "Kool Kid", otherwise "influencers" would cease to exist. You're not one of those people, are you? If you're here, I rather doubt you are.
Content creators on the other hand are trying to entertain, inform or educate you in some way or another. Our fabulous host here is obviously doing all of the above! In this video we certainly learned more about how her videos are produced and if you weren't entertained by the "snarky" way in which this was presented, well, I just don't know what's wrong with you. Of course, it helps that our host is quite attractive. She probably could make some good money on OnlyFans if she were that sort of person, which she isn't, thankfully. It's a sad state of affairs when people think that attractive women can only make money on the internet by producing OnlyFans type of content. We've come a long way, baby, but I don't think OnlyFans is what they thought the future was going to be. Sooooo... just stay Snarky , OK?
P.S I can't believe she can't find a guy that would respect her efforts and talent. I see plenty of guys hopefully making a good living doing nothing but expressing their opinions in front of a webcam and from the number of followers, I would think that they are well respected, so what's the diff? Most of the ones I follow are live streamers tho and can make extra money via superchats, etc. And why doesn't she have a sponsorship from some clothing outfit? I don't want to know how much she must spend on all those dresses. Guys can get away with wearing a different t-shirt and/or hat each time or just have 10 pairs of the exact same hoodie and get nothing but a slight ribbing. Then again, she looks really nice in a dress.

Shout out to SnarkyDad! I really enjoy your content as you do your best to be as unfiltered as possible, Jay. Your brutal honesty and "cut-the-BS" approach gives a very efreshing sense of authenticity, and it keeps a lot of people coming back for more.
The first video I ever watched on your channel you jokingly went on about narcissism in a very self-deprecating manner, but it's kinda had me wondering your thoughts, (and possibly a future video) about the correlation between successful people and sociopaths. I'm learning to DJ, have my heroes and such, and every time I meet one... I am taken aback like something's not right. "Never meet your heroes' seems all too true, but it's scaring me to think that if I want to succeed, at some point down the road I am going to have to be prepared to step on someone's toes or have to adopt some kind of cutthroat business mentality. That scares the sh** out of me, as I never want to intentionally be 'that guy'. I figure you've experienced stuff like this in the cosplay world, and I'd love to hear you rant and rave loosely on the topic. PS - You kick ass. Keep up the good work!

The frustration of being insulted in any walk-of-life is not being able to answer, or not having the courage. Telling someone they are wrong, or they do not have the right to attack you, is a form of self-actualisation that enhances self-confidence. Telling an attacker to f-off is not as fulfilling as telling them are wrong and why. You are not defenceless, Jay, you are equipped with the power of snark.

I see you as an Entrepreneur, someone who has started their own media business and is doing all the hard work that must be done in a business.
There are millions of single person businesses all over the world, you are one. You have the same challenges and rewards as many other businesses. When people ask what you do, tell them you are an Entrepreneur and that you run a media business. They will probably then ask what kind of media, then you can go into those details.
Everyone in the media business is some kind of creator, you are doing all the jobs, which deserves credit not ridicule.
Keep up the good work and don’t let the negative comments get you down. Those people are generally trying to make themselves feel better at your expense. If they were half the woman you are, they would be doing the creation, not the complaining.

Thanks for this video, Snarky Jay! I actually learned more about what being a content creator full time is like than in a million other videos. Some of the stuff you highlight got me thinking: "people are weird at best".
Far too easy for many to see how much goes on behind the scenes and more importantly the dark reality of what goes into a single video.
If there's one thing I learned from a sermon given by the senior minister at my church, it's that there are those who far too readily say all sorts of negative comments and in doing so, they reveal what they are truly like. I have to wonder, with the nasty comments some give you:
    a) those are uncalled for, and
    b) are they looking in the mirror when saying them?

    Snarky Jay.
    I am adding a suggestion.
Given your honesty about how you earn a living through your hard work, work that involves product placements, I infer that you probably have an agent helping you find product placement gigs.
If you have an agent, I suggest that you and s/he work together to create a "content reel". You two should send it to Lorne Michaels at "Saturday Night Live".
I haven't seen anything in your product involving improv work, so if you "got a bite" from Lorne, you two should offer "you" as a potential member of SNL's "Writers Room".
Many "'Main Cast' from the 'Past'" started in the Writers Room.
It's just a suggestion, yet I think you might be able to pull it off.

Your channel just popped up in my feed recently. This was the second of your videos I've watched and it reminded me of meeting Riddle at a convention last year. You brought up couple of things she also addressed.
The first being that in the past, everybody always came up to her saying they wanted to be cosplayers. Now it's changed to "I would love to be a cosplayer but I don't want to do the OnlyFans" like it was required. She spent a lot of time explaining that it wasn't a requirement and not to feel pressured to do OnlyFans if they didn't want to. I am glad you are doing it your way.
The other thing Riddle said was doing cosplay set her up to land her dream job. Cosplay required Riddle to learn designing, sewing, and creating all her costume's parts from scratch then showing them off at conventions. gave her the skills to land her dream job. She works on costumes for Marvel films and other film companies. She doesn't do many conventions any more and when she does, it's for fun. You are also putting in the work now through your social media, UA-cam channel. cosplay and self marketing to develop all the skills and connections to increase your odds of having your dream career. I believe you will get there and I wish I was half as motivated as you when I was your age. Love the first two episodes and look forward to watching more.

Apologies if this ends up being a bit lengthy...
UA-cam has been my TV replacement for years now for the most part. So I feel like I can say this with a decent level of experience from an audience perspective. Your channel and the way you go about creating your content is genuinely impressive. I have seen CCs that have been on this platform for twice as long not even have half the progression as you and I believe its because you seem to have genuine love for what you do and a hunger to be better and grow. You are very well spoken, the snark is top tier and witty, the production quality is fantastic (honestly even tempts me to derail from my current creative endeavor to start messing with video editing a bit lol), and although I have only recently found your channel I can say you seem to have done a great job at establishing a positive and healthy brand for yourself. Yes you are gorgeous and I'm sure a lot of people come here for the cosplay and the appeal of that but if I am honest attractive female CCs are a dime a dozen, it takes a strong personality and charisma to keep people invested in what is being said and keep them engaged which you do extremely well. There are some CCs that I watch for specific content like Jeremy Jahns for movie/show review or Ryker Road if I just want to watch some goofballs react to music that I love but would never really be interested if they branched out into something different. With your channel I feel a large number of your viewers, myself included, would be genuinely intrigued to hear your thoughts on... anything you decide to make a video on because of everything you put into your videos.
so TLDR... Keep being a badass and doing what you do. I am excited to see what the next two years of progression look like for you. Just do us a favor and dont forget to take a step back when needed and breathe. Burn out is a very real thing for CCs. Health first, always.

I love this video so so much. As a content creator myself, I found it to be incredibly cathartic. It took so much courage to be as upfront and honest as you were, and I bet there was a lot of temptation in editing to maybe down play some of it. I'm glad you are so real. I don't know if this applies to your content, but one thing I would add to my own list is commenters who say, "you forgot to mention ______." I'm never rude about it, because sometimes I do overlook something, but generally it's always an intentional choice. And the other thing is trying to communicate just how much time it takes. People see an 8-12 minute video and don't realize that it equals 8-12 hours. Even so, people like us have the best job in the world. We work 60 hours a week so we don't have to work 40. And even with the bumps, I'm nothing but grateful. Thanks again for the video! Really some of your best work.
