Cesar oh’s guides are very good!! The guy that did the spin was Tao (one of the Chinese members that left the group)
I think they are good if he wants to get to know them, if he wants to simply know their positions he should only watch one guide
Growl is actually the song that made them more famous. And Xiumin is Korean, but his stage name was decided to sound easier and more recognizable in Chinese since he was going to be in EXO-M, just like Chen.

Overdose is the last mv of Kris and Luhan. While Tao, the one who jumped, last mv was Call Me Baby. Xiumin and Chen are Koreans.
Both versions use all 12 members. The EXO-K MV starts with the 6 members of EXO-K and then switches to the 6 EXO-M members, etc. The combined choruses (with all 12) feature the EXO-K vocals.
The EXO-M MV is vice versa. Once you’ve figured out who everyone is you should go back & react to your reaction….that would be fun.

You don't know how happy it makes me that you watched both the Korean and Mandarin versions of "Overdose." :D
I think the difference in the vocals you are hearing between the EXO-K and EXO-M versions, aren't just because they are different singers for each part of the song. But I think the songs are intentionally structured to sound a little different because the style of song and what appeals to a Korean audience is different than the music style that a Chinese audience is drawn to. So, for example EXO-M's main vocalists Chen's and Luhan's voices are meant to have the style and sound of Chinese songs, where Baekhyun's and D.O.'s more sultry R&B vocals are what Korean audiences are drawn to. Plus, if you look up the English translation of both the Korean and Mandarin lyrics you will see that the lyrics are slightly different.
As the intro to their debut "Mama" MV points out, EXO are made up of two groups who stand on the same ground and see similar things and they stand on separate grounds and see the same thing. So even the most minute detail has a purpose within EXO's storyline, including the word choices they use in the different versions of the songs.
Fun fact: Even though Chen and Xiumin are members of EXO-M, they are actually the two native Korean members of this sub-unit. They were given their stage names because it helped them fit in better in EXO-M. (Kris was Chinese-Canadian and Lay, Luhan and Tao are native Chinese.)
As far as the story in "Overdose," what you need to keep in mind with everything you watch that has to do with EXO is that EVERYTHING they are involved in is connected and everything they do is designed to tell a little more of EXO's story. EXO's MVs are all like one continuous drama or mystery.
"Overdose" came out in 2014 and it is one of the last MVs where all 12 members are part of the song and MV. (Kris left the group right after this MV was released and Luhan will leave within the next 6 months.)
How EXO worked back when they were split up into the two groups (EXO-K Korean and EXO-M Mandarin Chinese) was that all the members were in both MVs, but the K members were featured more prominently in the K version of the song and the M members were featured in the M version. They actually shot two separate MVs for each version, so the parts that look the same were deliberately made to look the same -- they don't use cuts from one MV to create the other, but they film all the scenes for both MVs separately, even if the scenes are designed to look the same.
As you saw, the K members sing the main parts of the song in the Korean version, but in the Mandarin version the M members take over the main parts. So, even when the MVs look the same, they will always be slightly different because the members are assigned different parts in each MV. For example, in the Korean version the EXO-K rappers -- Chanyeol and Sehun -- are the ones that are part of the rap section. In the Mandarin version Kris, Xiumin and Tao are the rappers because they are EXO-M's rappers. Tao is also the martial artist of the group, so he is the one that does the flips and stunts in EXO's routines.
Also something to note, you see Kai in the beginning and end of the MV in the Korean version because he is the center and visual of EXO-K, and in the Mandarin version you see Luhan fills that same role because he is the center and visual of EXO-M. Plus, Kai and Luhan were each others' power counterparts as well. So this establishes the connections between EXO-K and EXO-M. Kai and Luhan were supposed to have a bond that connected the two groups and made them one as part of EXO's storyline.
In the MV what you saw is that the members have been trapped in a maze by the Red Force and they are trying to use their superpowers to escape the maze. For example, in the Korean version you see Chen throw a beam of light which is an example of them using their powers. Chen has the power to control lightning so theories believe he tossed a lightning bolt to Lay who has the power of healing. Lay is the only one who could have caught that light beam without being injured because he can heal himself.
In the beginning when you see the EXO-K members making that picture while standing on each other, they are forming their hexagon symbol which is EXO's official symbol. (In the M version, you may have noticed it's different members.) The different sets you see, are thought to be different rooms within the maze, or maybe alternate realities or time periods created by the Red Force to lure the EXO members to them.
So, the story in the MV is pretty much the members trying to summon their powers to try and escape from the maze.The box that D.O. had at the beginning of the MV was full of dirt. D.O.'s superpower is the power of earth or dirt and it gives him strength, so he was using the sand to build his strength back up. The other members were also trying to use their powers to escape.
At the end of the MV we discover that the maze has only one way in and no way out. Which I think is meant to represent and mirror the fact that they are saying they are trapped by love and once you are in there is no way out. The maze was also EXO's logo for this album and it is shaped like EXO's hexagon symbol.
Although, in the song they're not overdosing on anything except love. As the English lines in the song say: "So bad, no one can stop her ... her love, her love (is) fantasy ... Oh she wants me, Oh she's got me ... Oh she hurts me ... someone call the doctor ... (her love makes me) overdose ... too much of your love makes me overdose ... too much overdose ... You're in my heart ... with you I can't stop", etc. This song is kind of a love song about how powerful love can be that it feels like no matter how much you try to resist it you keep getting pulled back in like a drug.
However, for the storyline in the MV there might be a little more at play than just being drugged by love. Some theories say that the story in "Overdose" is connected to the story in "Lucky One." In "Overdose" the members get trapped in a maze and they can't find their way out. The red light represents the Red Force who have trapped them in the maze. It is thought that the maze causes the members to get disoriented and sort of become incapacitated so they are unable to defend themselves. The maze dulls their senses and makes it so they lose the ability to use their powers at full strength, etc.The theory speculates that sometime after the end of the "Overdose" MV EXO gets captured or transferred from the maze and brought to the government facility by the Red Force and that is why we see them in a hospital-like setting in "Lucky One." In the story in the "Lucky One" MV the members are drugged and they are being experimented on to discover what makes them so special. In "Lucky One" the members use their powers to break free from the facility. And this is where some theories connect the story in their "Lucky One" MV to the story in "Ko Ko Bop." One theory is that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is them trying to detox from the drugs they were given in the government facility in "Lucky One" and the blue Ko Ko Bop drink Suho mixes and the members drink is supposed to counteract the effects of the drugs in their system. That is why they act so out of it and in a drugged state in "Ko Ko Bop."
As you can see all of the stories in EXO's MVs are connected. We just have to pay close attention to every detail and put the pieces together.
I know I have given you this information before, but just in case you need a refresher, here is a list to help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances.
EXO-K
💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: did you know that Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO? That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho)
💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light
🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix.
🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt) which gives him strength/force
☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation. (Kai means opening as in a door or gateway, so his stage name symbolizes his role within EXO's storyline.)
🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a lead rapper, lead dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind
EXO-M
❄Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) is the oldest member of the group and he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper and his power is the ability to control snow/ice (frost)
🦄 Lay (Zhang Yixing) is the Chinese member of the group, he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper -- his power is the ability to heal anything.
🌩 Chen (Kim JongDae) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control thunder/lightning/electricity
The Chinese members who were all in this MV, but have now left the group:
🐉 Kris was the leader of EXO-M he was a main rapper and vocalist -- his power was the ability to fly and his spirit animal was a dragon
💭 Luhan was a main vocalist and his power was telekinesis (The ability to control things with his mind)
⏰Tao (Z. Tao) was a lead rapper and vocalist and the martial artist of the group, so he did the flips and stunts in the group's routines. His power was the ability to control time

Wow, this is a ton of info! I'll try my best to retain just 15% of it because it can be a struggle for me haha. It sounds like the members departing really shook up a bit of the storyline if they had counterparts and whatnot in place.
@@KpopPrince Yes, and no, most of the members who were counterparts are still remaining, and the ones who left, their powers and positions within the group and storyline are thought to have been absorbed or adopted by the remaining members. So, even though they are not technically part of the group any more EXO-M and their part within EXO's storyline is still any important part of EXO and SM's Universe, even still today.

The EXO journey continues! this was the song that got me into EXO, it's such an ear worm. There's no getting it out. I wasn't convinced after Call Me Baby, but I could not put Overdose down! I really love the blend of styles in this one.
From what I can tell, K and M videos both feature all the members, they just switch parts between them (and languages), to highlight one sub-group over the other. I think at one point you mentioned Xiumin, yes he is in EXO-M, but he's actually Korean just with a more Chinese sounding stage name (same goes for Chen).

This was my first EXO song I think which made them be one of the few boy groups I listen to regularly. I was so excite when PK did their relay to this. Ireh really fucking ate the choreo.
Overdose is just one of those songs that does indeed get stuck in your head. My absolute favorite thing about this though... is the very manly squeal you let out during the flip.

The ‘Overdose’ era is forever engraved in me as the era when Kris and Luhan left. I was 15 and I was heartbroken🥲 Kris used to be my bias, I even had a bunch of merch with his name😅
