EXO is originally a group of 12 members, divided in 2 subunits of 6 members one singing in Korean and one in Chinese. Some members had problems, and left the group, we have now 9 official members (Sehun, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, Xiumin, Suho, Kai, Chen, D.O. and Lay) but one of them only promote the group in solo in China. The rest there's only 8 members promoting in Korea and they're less and less because of the Military national service (which is obligatory and last 2 years). They can still continue promoting as EXO after their service if they want, now we have only Chanyeol, Kai, Baekhyun, Chen and Sehun active in the group, the others are doing their military services, Sehun will also do it soon and Chen had a baby recently and there were scandals about it so we're not sure if he will be able to continue his group activities...

I was the AC on this music video. We shot this in 48 hours on two large sets that was built from scratch. Sammy is right, we shot with a 18mm Ultra wide lens with a RED camera mounted on a MoVI. Fun fact: this was the first production shot with the Freefly MoVI in Korea. They brought me on as the MoVI specialist. Without it, we could not have shot the opening shot through the legs. The EXO guys were total professionals, working through the night. Despite several takes of constant dancing, they were always energetic and positive. Ah... Fun times. 👍

I'm pretty sure I've said this before but here's the explanation why there is a different number of members in the songs.
EXO debuted as a 12 member group in 2012. They were split into two sub groups EXO-K that promoted in Korea and EXO-M that promoted in China. All MVs have two versions because in each version different sub group was more prominent. In some songs only one sub group sings depending on the version but they all appear in the MV at some point. There are songs like Overdose and Growl though where they all sing, but have different parts.
After Overdose two Chinese members left the group and then in 2015 after Call Me Baby another Chinese member left.
They are officially a 9 member group, but because Lay is Chinese and some kind of political figure he can't participate in their latest come backs. I don't remember if you've seen Obsession, but there are only 6 members because they started enlisting for mandatory military service. Three members are currently enlisted (one of them enlisted mid May).

Overdose isnt a 2017 song 😂 its older 2014, and at that time they still had 12 members but as I told you before 3 members left and now Exo are only 9 members. This is why the members keep multiplying lol the older the mv the more members there are. 2016 onwards Exo are 9 members.

exo was originally 12 members. three of them left: tao, kris, luhan. lay is promoting solo in China and doesn't really promote with exo but is part of the group and participates in the songs. exo-m is the chinese unit, and exo-k is the korean unit. at the moment there are a few members in the military. there are currently 9 members. exo-cbx is a sub unit with chen, baekhyun and xiumin. exo-cs is a sub unit with chanyeol and sehun. When they were 12 (complete) the group was originally split into two parts for some songs EXO-M and EXO-K (M for Mandarin, K for Korean) to perform their songs in different languages. As far as I know they are not split anymore because they are just 8 (for a few songs still 9) now and some of them are active in new group foundations. So yeah... kinda messy but I love, that they keep going🙈❤

The music video is in 2014 and not 2017. Exo debute as 12 members in 2012 Exo-k ( Korea)[meant for Korean audience or market] and Exo-M(Mandarin) [meant for China audience/ market ].But the fandom (Exo'l) demand company to put them together(Exo) I don't really remember which year. But due to company mistreatment, 3 Chinese members from Exo-M left the group. Lay (the only Chinese member in the group now) is in China and promote there as a solo artist, but he still part of Exo and he even appeared in tempo mv. In obsession mv, you can see only six cause two members D.o and Xiumin are serving their country as the rule in Korea.

Great reaction! Ok, EXO debut was April 2012 with their single “MAMA” however, they pre-debuted with “History” “ What is love” amazing song definitely recommend. EXO was originally 12 members. 6 EXO-K( Korean) 6 EXO-M (Mandarin) which consisted of 4 Chinese members (Kris, Lu Han, Tao and Lay) and 2 Korean members ( Xiumin and Chen). Kris left EXO first in May 2014. LuHan left in October of 2014. This was in the mists of promoting “Overdose” this also left EXO with 10 members. Tao left a few in 2015 months after EXOs comeback with “Call Me Baby” which brings us to a total of 9 EXO members. Personally, it was sad to see them go. Now, Lay is still part of EXO his just inactive since he is doing a solo career and a busy schedule in China. The last time we saw Lay was in “Tempo”

ok let me explain it, you know exo have that power concept, right? you can see it in multiple of their mvs (for example mama, history, lucky one, etc...). going to the point, the pathcodes are focused in those powers with kind of a story behind (we had a great and stressful time making theories honestly) what makes it really fun to watch!!!!!!

In 2014, when this song was released one of the chinese members left claiming that the company abused them, some time later the second chinese member left, and after Call me Baby the third chinese member left, all for the same reason.
Exo are still 9 but lay the last chinese member has been promoting in China and having some problems to work in korea I belive. If you go back to monster MV he still sings on that one.

If you know what to look for you‘ll find that segments of the design form a stylized E X O in every one, including this maze. Exo were 12 members divided to two teams exo-k (korean side) exo-m(Mandarin=china side) than when 3members leave the group the company desided to put the 9 members in one team called EXO.

On May 15 2014 Leader of Exo-M Kris left the band due to racism, During the Same year on October 10th 2014 the main visual for Exo and Exo-M Luhan also left due to the same reasons, a year later on August 15th 2015 the youngest member of Exo-M Tao has also left. The Chinese sub unit has been inactive and discontinued right now.

Omg i just remembered this but Exo’s music videos always has a story, like in their first music video “MAMA” they’re aliens from Planet Exo, as it explains everything in the introduction of the music video, all of their music videos follow the storyline of the “Red Source” trying to kidnap them, like in the Monster MV, or take away their powers like in the Power MV, in this MV, a theory was that Exo only came out with 10 members because the other 2 (Kris and Luhan the ones who left) never escaped the maze. Since this was there last come back together as 12 members.This is a theory but you should also react to Exo theory videos of their MV’s they actually are really cool but you should definitely react to their MAMA MV since it’s their debut song, the intro is also really cool, like i said it explain everything. The number of members depends what era the MV came out. EXO was 12-member group formed in 2011 and debuted in 2012. They were grouped into EXO-K(orean) and EXO-M(andarin),with the Korean group singing and promoting in Korea while Mandarin group in China.
2 Chinese members left in 2014 and another in 2015. The remaining 9 members just become one group EXO. The last Chinese member is still part of the group but has not been actively promoting. Then in 2019, two members enlisted in the military.

The hexagon shape on the Spiderweb is actually Exo's logo! Every comeback their logo changes but usually designed base of the original logo, the Hexagon. Hope you'll notice that the maze is in Hexagon.

probably a lot people has already explain but i will do this too! exo was originally an korean/chinese group with 12 members, they was divide in two units exo-k and exo-m with 6 members each (12 in total being 4 of them chinese) in 2013 they made title songs with all members too but with this dynamic of korean and chinese (like the same song but one in korean and another in chinese) anyways, exo-k was singing in korean and promoting in korea as well and exo-m singing in chinese and promoting in china. but in 2014 like days after overdose released kris left the group and luhan after. so in 2015 days after call me baby released tao left the group as well. but since 2016 lay is not promoting with exo too because of political things between korea and china...but he has an AMAZING solo career, also the boys who left has too they're amazing artists, but yeah this is why some mvs they're like 12,10,9,8 members...in obsession they're 6 because in that time two members was in military and now they're 3 in military. i also recommended to you react their solo stuff, exo are an amazing group and have the best soloist too. lay, chen, baekhyun, suho and the sub units exo-cbx and exo-sc has amazing songs!! im loving your journey into exo, as an exol my heart is so full of love to see people enjoying their music, thank you 💕

At first ( in their debut era) exo had two part : exo-k and exo-m and consisted of 12 members.
exo fandom named " exo-L" and because members thaught this name is so formal they decided to call us " eari"
* L in English alphabet come between K and M so that they chose L and named us EXO-L .
Exo-k were consist of korean members : baekhyun - chanyeol,- sehun -kai -suho -D.O
Exo-m were consist of Chinese-korean members :
Chen, xiumin : korean
Luhan - kris- tao - lay : Chinese
In 2014 after overdose comeback kris left the group, and after that luhan and tao did same .
Now exo has 9 members , 3 of them ( D.O- XIUMIN - SUHO ) are in military service and lay ( only Chinese member of group ) because of political problems between korea and china can't performing with group so he do solo.
Other exo members will go military service soon and during this time they will performing as solo singers and sub units ( exo-sc ( sehun and chanyeol ) and exo cbx ( chen , baekhyun, xiumin)).
