Just a quick review of how I mix my neem oil drench concoction to deter soil pests (especially fungus gnats 😡). This method is something I use in combination with mosquito bits, sticky traps, and a few other methods because I CANNOT STAND BUGS, ESPECIALLY FUNGUS GNATS. If you’d like, I can make a video on fungus gnat control in my home, and all of the things that WORK.
*also, I’d like to add that these drenches can stress your plant out, especially the more delicate ones. So definitely try it out on a more hardy plant, or spot test on a delicate plant first.
Let me know if you all have questions!
•My neem oil concentrate:
Garden Safe Brand Neem Oil Extract Concentrate, 16 fl oz www.amazon.com...
Everyone with house plants is all too familiar with that water spillage at the start haha
Thanks, I had been looking for a video on soil drenches using Neem Oil, most vids are on the foliar sprays ! I'll let my soil dry out a little more 1st and give this a try 😃
I have found you are right with light drench and repeat method. Worked so well, like 2 days and no bugs coming out.
Im currently using neem oil drench on my indoor medical plants as my fungus gnats are really affecting my plants, I hope it works...
Thanks for the video
Any update? I’m having fungus gnats problem rn 😢
@@ByMyReckoning yes I changed to Ed Rosenthal Zero Tolerance spray it works and is made for use on cannabis plants and others as well. Good luck mate
I’ve been using the spray bottle neem oil mix and I feel that my ingratiation of fungus gnats are relentless!!
I as well have a terrible infestation I have 60 plants I am trying everything I can possibly think of it just seems like they never go away
I can recommend SF nematodes! Neem oil doesn't really kill them all, it's better for light issues
The spray bottle neem doesn't have the active ingredient in it when it's cold pressed. You should get your own cold pressed neem and make your own mix. Don't buy one already made
@@TottiShares What is SF nematodes and how do you use it?
@@lkmorgan1959 it's a powder you mix with water and then little bugs(?) Grow in the pot which eat the larvae of the gnats! It sounds disgusting but it works so well! The bugs then die off once they have no more food so don't worry, no new infestation:D
Thank you. Every where I looked has spray instructions but my stink bug problems are in the soil.
Do you mean real stink bugs, or are you calling the gnats stinkers? lol
Don't forget to add a small amount of liquid soap to the neem oil or the neem oil will keep separating from the water
This is great information. I would love to know if the neem oil flush worked. Is there an updated video? I am battling a fungus gnat infestation and desperately need a remedy.
Yes, it did work for a bit! But my current remedy (I can make a video on it if need be) is just mixing about a cup of mosquito bits into warm water with about a teaspoon of neem oil concentrate, all mixed into a pitcher and watering that way’! You can water onto the mosquito bits over and over. Just let them sit in the water for a few minutes to make a “mosquito bit tea”!
only mixing neem oil with water and watering the soil?
I noticed you didn't add anything to emulsify the neem oil with the water. I usually use castile soap. Is there a reason why you didn't use an emulsifier?
Thanks!
I am using the garden safe Fungicide 3 what u think how would I mix this?
Thanks for sharing love your videos ❤
Thanks so much for watching! Feel free to let me know what content you wish to see in the future as well 💚
I feel dumb asking, but what is a mosquito bit?
Don’t feel dumb! They’re these little crunchy balls made from a natural bacterium that are lethal to mosquitos and more importantly... fungus gnat larvae!
@@ShaineFrolicswithfoliage OH! Thank you for replying. Where would you find mosquito bits?
Shaine Frolicswithfoliage i used pure neem oil and mixed it with water / dish soap.
Now after 1 week i got mold on the soil, is this normal?
If you ad O J with dish dope that flock to it . I've count 1000s of them. They love OJ.
Oj m dish soap in a bowl?
Can I keep the mixture that runs out of the drainage holes to reuse?
Spider mites laugh at neem oil. 😆 Good video though… I am about to drench my roots now! Damn fungus knats!
Neem oil takes at least 2 weeks to work....the plant uptakes the oil and any bug that has a bite of the plant is brown bread, turns them into retards.....
About to do the same! 7 months later, can I ask how it went? Assuming you wanted to target the fungus gnat larvae in the soil, and we’re successful, How long did it take, what ratios did you use, and what brand of been did you purchase
@@Adam-uh8rj For bugs, the best practice is being super careful not to get them in the first place. -Practice by not introducing anything from the outside into your grow tent, or if you do, isolate and spray it for a few days.- This includes unsterile soil!
The things that I use (all Organics suupposively) are Green Cleaner, Spinosad, and Azamax. You alternate from one to the other every 2nd-3rd days... paying special attention to spraying under the leaves. Mix as recommended. Add to your water/nutrients and do a couple soil drenches for the fungus knats. Then you use your magnifying glass and look for bugs. Then you hope and pray that you didn't get a super resistant bug, and keep looking the entire cycle. After harvest, you sterilize the hell out of your grow tent/environment using bleach mixed in water, or some other serious chemical! Good Luck!
I have over 60 plants and an extreme infestation of gnats I have tried everything I can think of and I just cannot seem to kill them any suggestions
Have you tried beneficial nematodes?
