Your dedication to such informative posting is tremendous!👏🏼. I need one clarification, as I'm a regular B'luru Chennai traveller by train. The detour via Jolarpettai the last 100 years, that too with a huge south loop is a terrible waste of travel time and the railways know it. They could have acquired lands from around Kolar to Gudiyatham during Kengal Hanumanthaiah days, but sadly he didn't. Now the acquisition cost is exorbitant. Anyway, it can be done even now given the burgeoning demand between the two major southern metropolises.
The huge loop was made because of a freight yard build around 50 years back. Suggestion were sent to railways for shorter route but nothing moved. I guess the future concentration will be on the Bullet train project between Chennai and Mysuru via Bengaluru. Lets hope for the best

Lovely video and explanation! Always enjoy your namma Bengaluru and vicinity videos - superb videography and informative/simple narration style. Keep it up! While no other rail system in the world has the passenger density/volume, infrastructure, and people behavior challenges, and while IR has made great strides especially since 2014, the issue of littering around tracks has to be urgently addressed - education, enforcement with real consequences, and equipment to handle the waste… It is such a travesty that even the most verdant of spots on the IR system are soiled/spoiled by the massive amounts of trash and other waste that are recklessly discarded. Train station platform cleaning and upkeep seems to have received a massive boost under the Modi government; yet, not much focus on track-side cleanliness! @@NatarajanC12119 bro I just saw tenders for laying fence as part of the speed enhancement project btw SBC-JTJ. I think thats the final pending task. What do you think?
@@NatarajanC12119 Of course. Needs more investment, sleepers, ballasts, safety measures. But it is possible. Long term, 160 is better than 130 if the traffic is high enough to support the economics of it.
It’s 2025 and we’re proud of 130 while the world is trialling 500.. Our railways has set the bar so low, anything above 100 is considered game changing 🙄
You can't go from snail pace to 370 quickly. When Japan and other countries were planning for 130 km and 220km trains, our ministers were making people fight how many trains each state got and neglecting upgrades and showing it as profits. So what happened after 2014 is to improve railway station infrastructure, lay new tracks, create new railway stations, upgrade current ones, improve cleanliness, create railway overpass, improve signalling, dedicated freight corridor, introduce 160 km Vande Bharat trains. Introduce higher speed Amrit Bharat trains. Remove curvature as much as possible along tracks, electrification reaching 97 percent etc. Future is High speed trains and certain politicians even detailing it. So we are against a huge fight against entrenched mentality thats blaming everything to fares to environment to scuttle progress. So the process is ongoing and we can see improvements every decade with much faster and better trains.
@ There’s no point of introducing 160kmph trains and charging superfast cess while those trains go at an average speed of 60-70kmph. Last I checked even the track infrastructure falls under the government. So, no excuses for them. It’s like getting a sports car but making it go on potholed roads.
@@srikanth85in Every bit worth for the common man to have better travel experience. The average speed of all passenger trains now improved by 30 percent and stand at 80km/hour in just 5 years. It's all good. But when the Chennai Jolarpettai was upgraded to 130kmph in 2023, SR said there will be a reduction of minimum of 20-25 min for all LHB trains. However, no change in time schedule in their time table. Even after the speed increase, Brindavan, Lalbagh takes same 6 hrs and Shatabdi takes same about 5 hrs.. VB trains are 4.5 hrs. The only thing, i observed is, the time taken from MAS TO KPD has reduced. atleast by 10mins. And while reaching kuppam, Bangarapet the trains usually come with a delay of 20-30mins bcz of uphill gradient. That delay was managed by slack time between BNC-SBC. But now, due to upgrading of speed from 110 to 130kmph, almost every train reaching KPN, BWT at the right time table without delay.
