A fun fact! Southern and Western parts of India are considerably wealthier than the Eastern and Northern parts except Delhi and its surroundings (Delhi NCR).
Haryana and Punjab are among the most prosperous states in the country. Haryana has been collecting the highest GST per capita. Not just the NCR, even the Chandigarh metro area has many thriving shopping hubs/malls that are buzzing with cafes, restaurants, upscale shops and boutiques. This is also true of Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar - (and to some extent even in smaller towns in Haryana like Ambala or Panipat) Don't understand why this ridiculous myth about the "North" persists. I am not endorsing the politics of Punjab or Delhi, but the Northern middle class has developed considerably, and now spends quite freely. Just check out the Outlet Malls/High Streets in towns like Barnala, or Bhatinda, or Hissar. You'll be utterly surprised.

Almost 40% of the state's population is Hindu who absolutely disagree with such claims. And only a minority of the Sikh population actually living in Punjab support the separatists. As for Haryana living with Delhi benefits - that is just nonsense. Haryana is a separate state whose prosperity derives from its relatively well educated population - especially its higher than average STEM and vocational enrolment. You are clearly very unfamiliar with ground realities in the region. It also appears that you may have some strong anti-Indian biases. One of the reasons the South has developed is for the same reason - high STEM enrolment. It is this element that has propelled Chandigarh to also develop as a tech hub which along with broad-based industrial growth has contributed to the region's relative affluence.

A fun fact! Southern and Western parts of India are considerably wealthier than the Eastern and Northern parts except Delhi and its surroundings (Delhi NCR).
North get bullets from Pakistan,china..if north collapse no one keep wealth safely
This is also true of Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar - (and to some extent even in smaller towns in Haryana like Ambala or Panipat)
Don't understand why this ridiculous myth about the "North" persists. I am not endorsing the politics of Punjab or Delhi, but the Northern middle class has developed considerably, and now spends quite freely.
Just check out the Outlet Malls/High Streets in towns like Barnala, or Bhatinda, or Hissar. You'll be utterly surprised.
@@shishirthadani1696Only punjab rich in north who want independent. Haryana living with Delhi benefits. Almost all India govt offices in delhi and north
@@LaroJanetPlease do not make false and ignorant claims. Most of those who claim to want Punjab's independence are now Canadian citizens.
