were you not a young person when you first discovered this music? who the hell else would have been listening to Crimson in 1970? Young people of course. dont be so pretentious about your age. ur not that wise. ...and lest not forget that the guys who made the music were very young at the time. only a codger would think young people cannot develop an appreciation for dynamic and demanding music like Crimson.
reactorfallout How old are you? what THE HELL are you saying, OVER-REACTIVE!? Shes just remarking something that is under your nose. I am 26 and I am thrilled too that other young people like me appreciate King Crimson nowadays. Does it make me pretentious about my age or any wiser? A 13-year old boy could say the same without being pretentious... wrong conclusion you took! Her argument came only to show that in a Bieber-Rihanna-Gaga era, good'n old ROCK AND ROLL STILL LIVES (and stupid people in youtube like you too).

I'm not a musician, just an old music lover who knows all these old treasures. All I can say is "Wow", you guys play beautifully, well done and all the very best. Kind regards from Australia.
+Linda Jones thanks mate. have a good one
Wowww! I've had a private love affair with this track - also for about 40 years - and as a musician, know what a tough job you guys did playing it so well in quite challenging circumstances. From the first few bars, you had the hairs standing up on the back of my neck. In fact, I felt quite emotional. And I was trying to work at the same time. :^) How cool to have John Wetton there singing! Thanks lads.
john wetton is a musical gentlemem icon to lend his vocals on kc,s starless to
help the starless nj band honed their craft, nice rendition lads to a class prog rock tune. keep on playing.
+xcalibur1011 thank u sir
I keep visiting this video often. You were so lucky in that time. I discovered King Crimson and prog rock in general recently on mid-2020 and even with that, Keith, John and Greg's death hits me a lot. Plus, you guys did a incredible cover! I love when the guitarrist gets excited and stands up
I am the guitarist in this video and it was the opportunity of a lifetime for sure. We were very lucky. We were at the right place at the right time. I've been listening to King Crimson and prog rock as long as I could remember. There is tons of great music in this genre new and old. I appreciate your comments and your listening.
Thanks man! Do yourself a favor and listen to all of King crimsons album Red OR starless and bible back from beginning to end. 😉
@@stevendenola5057 I already listened to most of KC discography, thank you anyway, it's always a good recomendation
Lucky guys, indeed!
Some minutes ago I was trying to introduce my daughter to the magic of Starless...
Majestic, John, powerful and forever young. RIP
agreed. such an incredible talent.
RIP to a legend... a shame this isnt more professionaly recorded
i know
Bloody brilliant! And what a great and original sounding drummer. And that singer guy is good, a bit older then the rest if you though.
Maybe you've come to know it by those past six years now, but that old man is the one (from the KC band naturally) who sang the few lyrics of this music.
@@megapulsar9244 Or it might have been meant less than very serious.
I bought KING CRIMSON's RED in November, 1974. It is one of my 2 ultimate fave albums, the other being YES' RELAYER released 12-5-1974. So 42 yrs has elapsed, and I see this great new re-interpretation, with the new guy in the band, singing....Brilliant!
both great albums i like the live version of gates of delirium on yesshows
Nice to see some twentysomethings? have an appreciation for one of the greatest songs and bands of all time. Great performance!
+Stephen James I'm 22. The bassist and drummer are like 2 or 3 years older than me. good music doesnt have an age cap. as long as ppl keep playing instruments they will get sucked into music like this
Wow! Steve DeNola, you absolutely killed your Bruford chips there! Amazing, thanks!
Thank you for the kind words! You are very very welcome!
I agree! The band were all brilliant, you though we're a joy to watch. Immaculate Bruford impression.. Five Stars!
Absolutely destroyed it. Gracias.
Wow!!!!!! holy shit you guys are terrific especially the drummer dude you are a fucking amazing the whole band is guitar player bass player, wow and guys got to jam with one of my heroes John Wetton, congratulations !!!! My first concert when I was 12 years old with King Crimson I've seen a dozen times since and I recently saw them in Boston and they were fucking amazing!!!
One of our heroes too!!!!!!!! Thank you so much!
Just want to say, Ooooo ffuu######kkkk, you guyy killed it. I use to see King Crimson in the '70's do this every chance i got and I must say, you guys should be very very proud!!! Keep up the great work!!!
Thank you! Wish I could have seen them then, but what can ya do.
WOW look at John at minute 9:00 he looks happy and proud of these talented young men.
I think,John was very surprised of these excellent musicians.
Que buen reguetton!!! Grande Robert, buen trabajo, chicos!!
..Bravo..once you get KC..espec.up to the Wetton era..there's no going back ..it is world class music that defies genre..as all art should..the band, IMO play great with alot of respect to the feel of the KC..it's soul music..and man to have JW sing with you?..he's John fuckin' Wetton!..yeow!!..
Starless was always my favorite King Crimson album. So sad to see you go John! John Denola audition for Crimson - send them this tape. You guys rock my prog!
Too bad for you they decided to play a song from the album "Red", instead...
Absolutely amazing. Having Mel Collins in there playing the sax part would've been epic.
I would’ve killed to be in the same room as John. Such a talented man. Taken too soon. RIP
It thrills me that young people appreciate King Crimson. Greetings from Mexico.
well thank you
were you not a young person when you first discovered this music? who the hell else would have been listening to Crimson in 1970? Young people of course.
dont be so pretentious about your age. ur not that wise. ...and lest not forget that the guys who made the music were very young at the time.
only a codger would think young people cannot develop an appreciation for dynamic and demanding music like Crimson.
yes i love em, greetings from Mexico #2
reactorfallout How old are you? what THE HELL are you saying, OVER-REACTIVE!? Shes just remarking something that is under your nose. I am 26 and I am thrilled too that other young people like me appreciate King Crimson nowadays. Does it make me pretentious about my age or any wiser? A 13-year old boy could say the same without being pretentious... wrong conclusion you took! Her argument came only to show that in a Bieber-Rihanna-Gaga era, good'n old ROCK AND ROLL STILL LIVES (and stupid people in youtube like you too).
***** Thank you, that's what I didn't want to answer, when someone is being rude there's no point to bother about it.
Authenticity never fades; it just reminds us of our roots. Nice, guys!
I grew up with this music and I'm delighted that it's still inspiring young people forty years on. Well done!
yea king crimson is the shit. cant wait to see them this month
I think we can all say that very few people are lucky enough to have JOHN WETTON perform with them.
You lucky SOBs...I'm dripping with envy.
The great John Wetton! RIP
i discovered KC when I was 14 with Fallen angel, then I listened Red album an it was like "wow". Starless captured my attention from the first time and it's not only my favorite song of them, but of all. Thank you for such a nice cover, even if there's no mellotron or sax.
+Reyna Pacheco I discovered KC around that time too. Starless is probably my favorite song as well. We did what we could! Thank you for the compliment and don't hesitate to check out the original music on this channel.
Impressed on so many levels. Thanks for sharing this amazing experience.
no problemo my pleasure
You guys are bad ass! we need more of that here in Miami !! I'm the only musician that loves king crimson.
Awesome job Guys, all of you nailed it. Hands down to the guitar player who did the Fripp part with a Strat.
What a stroke of good fortune to have the Master join you on this great song. You guys sounded awesome! Keep up the great work.
Road King thank you.
awesome! a masterpiece! wow congrats for your interpretation. The DRUMMER is a genius
yes
Ok! They all did a creditable job on a tough piece, but the drummer. Oh that drummer is something else. Great cover! Also, Really class move of Wetton to join in on this with them. RIP John.
超びっくり! 3ピースでの後半の緊密な構成は度を越えてる! ギターとベースはもちろんだけど、ドラム完璧! made me cry like the original one!!!!!!!!!!
演奏素晴らしい!リスペクト感多し。ベースの人がドラムを引っ張ってます。ジョンウェットンご本人のボーカルで大変に貴重です。ありがとうございます。
ありがとう
Watched this and teared up just like I do with the Crimson version. Outstanding.
That was GREAT! Right On! John smiles in agreement!
