Oh. My. Fucking. God. The crowd, the gameplay, the comebacks, the commentary...this is the greatest Smash 4 I've ever seen. Everything was absolutely perfect!
Makuo D. Zero is all about the win. and will do whatever disgusting tactic it takes to get that. I'm not bashing the guy it is a tourney you should do these things. taking breaks kills momentum from wins and gives time to download opponent. Zero took every opportunity he could to do this. Also the phone calls were to zeroes coach, just as tsu was talking to his. Nothing in that was unfair. This has simply been the best set I have watched in a long time. Good job guys. and that crowd and commentary made this so enjoyable good jobs to yall as well.
Idk what you consider disgusting tactics, but I consider lucario pretty cheesy. I do think taking breaks and getting coaches makes both players play at the top of there game constantly, which creates more exciting games.
BloodLegaZ zero took a break because his nerves were in a tear. he said so himself that his hands were literally shaking when he was playing so he took a break which is LEGAL. you're allowed a 5min break, I wouldn't call that a "disgusting tactic" and he could've timed tsu out if he wanted on like duck hunt but he doesn't do that, that's "disgusting tactics".
To think that Vayseth going out of his way to bring Japanese players to the US would bring this much hype to a game that some believed wouldn't last that long in the competitive realm. Thank you for granting myself and Keitaro the opportunity to commentate this top 8. For those wondering why I keep preferring to do Smash 4 more than Melee, it's because I think more people need to give this game a chance to grow. I'm happy to see everyone's reactions to Smash 4 this weekend, and make sure to stay alert for future events leading up to EVO. We aren't done yet.
You and Keitaro's commentary combined with the crowd were a big reason why this is one of Smash 4's greatest sets. Please try to commentate with him more often.
The best part of all this was the commentary for me. I'm not well versed in Smash 4 yet but the fact you guys were losing your minds the whole time really made this set by far my favorite of all the ones I've watched. I came back twice just to watch and enjoy with you guys again. Lucario in every finals? More like D1 Keitaro every finals!
The usage of Lucario before FrostBite 2017: 6 Select people on planet earth including Tsu himself The usage of Lucario AFTER FrostBite 2017: LITERALLY EVERYONE ON FOR GLORY AND 99% OF ALL COMPETITIVE PLAYERS (The other 1% is people who meant to pick Lucario, but they accidentally picked Charizard)
Exceed YourLimit Or it lets noobs find a new way to spam. For the past hour I've been finding Lucario players all over For Glory who would get comboed hard and then throw out a frenzy of predictable smashes and aura spheres.
jarsdad Lucario seems to require way too much luck and clutch, and doesn't have any clearly advantageous match-ups. I don't think competitive players will touch him. It's not like Marth and Cloud who have clearly positive match-ups against important characters and at the very least seem able to achieve consistency. I'd like to be wrong because Lucario's one of my favorite characters, but I think the chances for even Tsu himself to have another performance like this verge on none at all.
- Chenny - Beat them up. I don't see what's annoying about having a ton of Lucarios on For Glory. I think it's cool that uncommon characters like these get attention again after a feat like Tsu occurrs. Besides, it's only going to be like that for some time before things go back to the way they were. Remember Villager when Ranai shook the world? Lucario isn't for everyone. His play on FG will die down. For now, I'm cool with practicing the matchup against the good Lucarios I come across.
even over ZeRo vs Nairo at MLG and ZeRo vs Ranai at Genesis 3? Honestly, I don't know between those two, but those two were the best sets of their respective year, so.
There are a lot of great sets, but that ZeRo vs Nairo set at MLG, it was sorta apparent that ZeRo wasn't playing at his best. He had some personal issues at the time but still, Nairo did amazing and winning was not easy. In this set, we see a completely new face in the U.S. playing a character we almost never see.
I give Ranai vs. ZeRo a slight edge over this set to be honest. There were more hype plays in this set (that aura sphere snipe was bananas), but the technical skill displayed between Ranai and ZeRo is the best I've ever seen between two players.
I didn't think it was possible for a ZeRo grand finals to be so hype (still love him), but yeah, definitely one of the best sets not just in smash 4, but across the entire series.
By far, the most hype smash 4 set I've seen to date. Holy crap, they both played out of their minds. As much as I wanted to see Tsu win, this set was still legendary.
Without question the best set in all of Smash 4 history. And, in all honesty, the best TOURNAMENT in Smash 4 history. Awesome job to both players. I've never been so excited watching anything in my life.
One of the best Smash 4 sets I've ever seen. Tsu played his heart out. Two sets against ZeRo. I was really hoping that Tsu would pull it out, but still, mad props to both players for that set. ZeRo is too resilient. He kept his composure, and won. Thats why he's the best.
but he himself didn't win - felt really bad for him actually, Zero keeps winning everything ,) Have to be on eye out for lucario but who can beat DK? Yoshi?
The most intense set of the year so far! I was on the edge of my seat! This tournament was so intense and unpredictable. I'm very excited to see what the rest of 2017 holds! :D
Congrats to ZeRo for clutching it out and Tsu for making it to Grand Finals in a stack tournament, giving ZeRo trouble with Lucario. This was one of my favorite sets and most hype sets of all time, great play from both players!
Ethan Flinner I think ESAM vs iStudying was the set of the year in 2016, even tho there wasn't as much on the line. just was super hype and pleasant to watch
This set was amazing but people were so salty in the Twitch chat it nearly ruined the moment. It doesn't really matter whether or not you like Zero; that was easily one of the best sets in Sm4sh history.
Got a big board fuck you mean he didn't deserve the win? He dominated all match and he gets killed at 50% rage lucario how is playing poorly makes you the most rightful to win?
RufusGaki In California he has huge fan base, even he was surprised how many fans he here. I'm glad I met the best player and just a stand up guy. When Tournaments are hosted here.... everyone wants him to win. :D
AngelicAbsol I think zero is a god. His play style is amazing and he is undoubtedly the best player in the game. That being said, this kinda makes him the "final boss" for many people. If you can take down the boss, you'll be a great player. And people just love cheering for underdogs!
Eh, nothing against him personally, I would just love to see someone else be the king of Smash 4 for a while. It gets boring seeing the same person win everytime.
These are the matches that make me appreciate Zero's skill. A lot of times he just beats players but then there's times that he battles players and comes out on top and that's when I'm amazed.
i see people commenting how this set lost its value after the truth had been revealed, how? it doesn't change how zero played at all, this set is and will always be hype and legendary
whoever the hell is writing this script is a fucking great writer like damn this was a godly set. if I was an old man and I watched this set I would've died of a heart attack halfway through
Jefstito in melee there was long running joke that it was scripted becuase the gods won everything and only recently have begun to get challenged and the meme carried over to smash 4
A lot of neighbours probably called the police for all the screaming from the 35,000 twitch viewers back home. Shoutout to the "I NEED WATER" chat after the set ended
Nr Shocks Abadango's first U.S. appearance wasn't as impressive as Ranai or Kameme or Tsu. Ranai got 3rd at Genesis 3, Kameme got 2nd at Evo 2016, and Tsu got 2nd here, all first U.S. tournament appearance.
Haven't even finished the video yet although I'm certain this will be up for the set of the year. Great ups & downs, great set ups, great audience & perfect commentators.
They couldn't hold the set for evo 2017 grand finals BULLSHIT, but fr honestly the best smash 4 set ever even if u hate the characters they used or hate the players we all have to agree that this was so intense and made all our hearts beat rlly fast to the point where we thought we would get a heart attack congrats to both players respect for both.
As a SSBU new player starting to get involved in the community, I didn’t understand why everybody complained about rage, and especially about Lucario rage + aura. Now I understand.
This is the most hype I've ever been for ANYTHING Smash related. Omfg! It would have been awesome to see Tsu win, but Zero proving why he is no doubt the best player in the world.
Props to the crowd for chanting both players names after the set. This set was the best ever and there wasn't any losers here they just simply ran out of games to play. Amazing
My hands were shaking so hard the whole time.
Tsu is awesome
These are the type of sets that fire my competitive spirit.
Lucario analysis!
Regardless of who won, its always awesome to see the game get really close!
ZeRo you did so well Zero! Congrats on the win! You've earned it. Your sets have always been the most exciting.
zero is life
Congrats ZeRo, you were so hype in this tournament
At this point, it's not really important who won and who lost.
This was the best, most hype set of Smash 4 ever played, and that's what matters.
Marcifar TRUE AS FUCK
I think most of us still wanted Tsu to win though.
iStudying vs. ESAM tho
Motofreakz, that set at Beast was my favourite as well.
Pinkfresh vs Marss tho
Witness the legend, do not scroll down, you do not want to be spoiled my friend.
I gotchu G.
I got spoiled in a other video thats has nothing to do with this sets, how cool right?
I wrote a Chrome extension that hides the views, timeline, likes/dislikes and comments because I can't trust myself to not accidentally peek at them.
its cool though its cool though
listen to this guy
Oh. My. Fucking. God. The crowd, the gameplay, the comebacks, the commentary...this is the greatest Smash 4 I've ever seen. Everything was absolutely perfect!
I literally just watched your Smash 4: A Retrospective video, then this showed up on suggested. Great work and good luck in Ultimate!
MAD respect for Tsu, this guy's incredible. Great attitude, great player.
amen to that brother
Idk, later on in an interview he was mad about zero's breaks and getting coaching.
Makuo D. Zero is all about the win. and will do whatever disgusting tactic it takes to get that. I'm not bashing the guy it is a tourney you should do these things.
taking breaks kills momentum from wins and gives time to download opponent. Zero took every opportunity he could to do this.

xD1x seriously you guys are great. it must have been so great to witness this live.
Don't kid yourself D1. You aint the most versed in Melee to be commentating knowledge.
The best part of all this was the commentary for me. I'm not well versed in Smash 4 yet but the fact you guys were losing your minds the whole time really made this set by far my favorite of all the ones I've watched. I love ur commentating bro. I was so fucken hyped to see ur face on that camera
The usage of Lucario before FrostBite 2017: 6 Select people on planet earth including Tsu himself
The usage of Lucario AFTER FrostBite 2017: LITERALLY EVERYONE ON FOR GLORY AND 99% OF ALL COMPETITIVE PLAYERS (The other 1% is people who meant to pick Lucario, but they accidentally picked Charizard)
jarsdad it's because it starts a trend. It gives people the chance to use the characters they love!

This was insane!
Beefy Smash Doods Hello this is cFife from the beefy smash doods and today we will talk about the aura mechanic..
omg XD
Beefy Smash Doods I luv you guys!!!!!
stay beefy
Best set of 2017
Smash 4 is a young game, but as of this tourney, this is the best set in this game's history
even over ZeRo vs Nairo at MLG and ZeRo vs Ranai at Genesis 3?
Honestly, I don't know between those two, but those two were the best sets of their respective year, so.
There are a lot of great sets, but that ZeRo vs Nairo set at MLG, it was sorta apparent that ZeRo wasn't playing at his best. He had some personal issues at the time but still, Nairo did amazing and winning was not easy. In this set, we see a completely new face in the U.S. playing a character we almost never see.
That's exactly what it was when Ranai played ZeRo at Genesis.
I don't consider Nairo vs zero being one of the greatest sets becuase zero got bodied after set 1 lol
I give Ranai vs. ZeRo a slight edge over this set to be honest. There were more hype plays in this set (that aura sphere snipe was bananas), but the technical skill displayed between Ranai and ZeRo is the best I've ever seen between two players.
When the Smash 4 Documentary gets made, this will go down as one of the most hype Smash sets of them all.
God Wurm and now... zero will try
Best set of the year, easy.
Best set EVER. Period.
I didn't think it was possible for a ZeRo grand finals to be so hype (still love him), but yeah, definitely one of the best sets not just in smash 4, but across the entire series.
Ayanle Hashi If this set doesn't get 100k views by the end of the year I'm gonna be mad
Dapuffdaddy 69 2.5k in 1 hour. we on a good path to hit 100k
Ayanle Hashi 35:50 really shadow ball?
By far, the most hype smash 4 set I've seen to date. Holy crap, they both played out of their minds. As much as I wanted to see Tsu win, this set was still legendary.
Without question the best set in all of Smash 4 history. And, in all honesty, the best TOURNAMENT in Smash 4 history.
Awesome job to both players. I've never been so excited watching anything in my life.
Dreadfury This set was better than g4 for sure. Japan showed up with fire in their eyes. they did great
Dreadfury never seen so many hype and intense sets in one tourney in my life.
Great set indeed.
Zenyou vs Zero tho
moaa042 twas good but not this level
One of the best Smash 4 sets I've ever seen.
Tsu played his heart out. Two sets against ZeRo. I was really hoping that Tsu would pull it out, but still, mad props to both players for that set. ZeRo is too resilient. He kept his composure, and won. Thats why he's the best.
Tsu- won everyone's hearts. Hopefully can get him flown out to more US tournaments.
but he himself didn't win - felt really bad for him actually, Zero keeps winning everything ,)
Have to be on eye out for lucario but who can beat DK? Yoshi?
"Won everyone's hearts???" You mean "gave people some heart attacks"
If you haven't watched it yet, please stop scrolling. Don't spoil yourself. You're in for a treat :)
Bladimir Garay You like 100 comments down...rip
Derek Lewis :(
*+Bladimir Garay* not really same result as always.
Mewtwo _ Still a phenomenally close set. Even if ZeRo won it was no walk in the park.
41:13
Zero: No! I can't lose grands to someone who isn't Ally!
The Script: I gotchu fam
Top 10 anime fights...
99b3nja Best anime fight :)
99b3nja Number 1!!!
99b3nja hottest anime fight not even hentai can rival this
It's funny to see how a player I've never heard of before today became one of my favorite in one match.
kiranzo Holy crap, seriously. What a set.
One of the best sets ever, no?
Nicholas Carey YES
tbh I was rooting for tsu but I'm ok with the outcome
One of? Really, my guy? This is THE best set.
Dreadfury There are lots
Nicholas Carey THE BEST SET EVER!
The most intense set of the year so far! I was on the edge of my seat!
This tournament was so intense and unpredictable. I'm very excited to see what the rest of 2017 holds! :D
crowd pleaser, great set
EK H. Civil War was amazing too! Bro these tourneys are gonna be amazing this year
Congrats to ZeRo for clutching it out and Tsu for making it to Grand Finals in a stack tournament, giving ZeRo trouble with Lucario. This was one of my favorite sets and most hype sets of all time, great play from both players!
Tsu may not have won the tourney, but he definitely won our hearts.
Sets of the years by year
2015. ZeRo vs Nairo @ MLG World Finals 2015
2016. ZeRo vs Ranai @ Genesis 3
2017. ZeRo vs tsu @ Frostbite 2017.
Ironically, all have ZeRo, but no argument from me. I'm not even a ZeRo fanboy at all.
Ethan Flinner I think ESAM vs iStudying was the set of the year in 2016, even tho there wasn't as much on the line. just was super hype and pleasant to watch
Reddit voted ZeRo vs Ranai and Pink Fresh vs Marss above iStudying vs Esam, but an argument can be made for all three.
Zero vs. Zenyou at Genesis Saga is hype as all hell.
Don't forget Esam and iStudying at beast 6
Easily one of the best grand finals of all time. Props to ZeRo though for bringing it back.
Blue flames are hotter than orange/red..I want this fucker to really burn for ruining anyone's chance at finding out who wins for themselves ;D
Tman Goodguy What do you expect to find in the comments on this type of video? Just don't look at the comments
Wrath how about not being a fuck nugget and posting that
Tman Goodguy How about watching the video before looking at the comments?
Wrath that's exactly what I did dipshit hahahaha. I'm just looking out for others! Learn how to comprehend what you read.
This is one of those sets where you could have been rooting for who lost, but you don't mind, because they both played AMAZING. Best set yet.
This was a heart-stopping match. It had me on edge!
Incoming Lucario "mains" on For Glory.
Anthony Sorrell Just faced 3...all trying to charge shot up smash....
Lmao, perfect. Give it a week or so, everybody will give up and go back to Cloud and Marth.
Anthony Sorrell just like after g4....a lot of duck hunt mains poppin up...where did they all go?
Derek Lewis Exactly. I'm really going to have fun with Shulk mains, should one win a major/beats ZeRo.
Anthony Sorrell This tournament was upset city with the invasion of Japan.
When people look and question Smash 4 they need to see this set first.
Mateo Diaz and Pink Fresh vs Marss second
Nicola Streck This ^
Nicola Streck yeah that was my favourite set till this
One of the best sets I've ever seen. Although I wanted Tsu to win so badly he went to the moon and back with his play at Frostbite
Tsu won in our hearths
MiningWood Nobody agrees with you.
MiningWood No, Tsu was amazing, why you salty?
$tar$hackle Fuck Lucario. Good shit to tsu tho
MilkyWay941 I don't think it's possible for the winning side to be salty
I feel he went a little too far. Tsu is great, but Lucario needs some work haha. That aura passive is too ridiculous.
Zero and Tsu both had an amazing run throughout the tournament.
"OH MY GOD ZERO THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SOME BULL......SHUCKS!"
D1 - 2017
An incredibly skilled player is one thing, but to be so strong and so humble all at the same time; I really hope to see more of Tsu!
The best smash 4 set ever
50 likes
Looking back, this is no doubt set of the year. The plays, the hype, the commentary, the crowds; it was all perfect.
Zero, you have always been hands down my favorite. Don't let these people get to you. I'll keep rooting for you, even when everybody else stops.
The only time I've not regretted watching a 46 minute long video. This was gold.
yo, smash ultimate is out but I still come back to watch this phenomenal grand finals match. Best, most hype, game in all of smash 4, no question
Got a big board Because of people like you the Fighting game community thinks we are retarted children
tbf reading Twitch chat is invariably not a good idea.
Got a big board Yeah I don't want to hear that when Lucario is bullshit in the first place.
Dai!!!
I just loved how Tsu smiled the whole time. Gotta respect Japan's mentality and poise. Great set! #tsuisthebest
The anti sucks chant this tourney LMFAOO
Frostbite 2017, sponsored by #AntiSucks.
Nine I don't understand the "Anti sucks" chant. It was funny as fuck though.
ZOM BEACH Twitter beef between Zinoto and Anti. Watch GRTr4sh's video if you want context.
Yami what Twitter beef? Which video of his?
His Civil War video. It's one of the newer ones
How could people hate ZeRo? I personally love him :(
RufusGaki In California he has huge fan base, even he was surprised how many fans he here.
ZeRo is a GOD, especially after this runback! Honestly, its because people want to see some others win, pretty much what Gaki said
Eh, nothing against him personally, I would just love to see someone else be the king of Smash 4 for a while. It gets boring seeing the same person win everytime.
AngelicAbsol People love to root for the underdog.
This is one of the only sets of smash 4 that go back to! Its such a great set, and I feel a lot of people have forgotten it or havent experienced it.
Was bayo banned in this tournament?
@@monkeman2959 no, Tsu beat Salem at this tournament, probably the best Bayo in the world at the time.
@@iamtimnar5289 damn if this game developed further bayo may of died of a bit
take a shot for everytime ZeRo pulls out his phone.
Yui's Ego take a shot everytine the crowd makes you cringe
Take a shot for every autism
that was freaking incredible, I have never had so much hype in a match. you both are legends.
whoever the hell is writing this script is a fucking great writer like damn this was a godly set. if I was an old man and I watched this set I would've died of a heart attack halfway through
Worshipper of Cthulhu Why would it be scripted?
Blank Zone it's a joke in the smash scene lol
+Just Breathe he's clearly too young to know
Just Breathe care to explain? Ive seen jokes like that but i dont really get them. Fairly new to the smash competitive scene
Jefstito in melee there was long running joke that it was scripted becuase the gods won everything and only recently have begun to get challenged and the meme carried over to smash 4
i was on the edge of my seat the entire set. this is definitely one of the best grand final sets ive ever watched. amazing game to both players.
i miss smash 4
I know it's only feb but I'm pretty sure this will go down as the best set of the year.
A lot of neighbours probably called the police for all the screaming from the 35,000 twitch viewers back home. Shoutout to the "I NEED WATER" chat after the set ended
This entire tournament was just hype.. and this set was EASILY one of the best in the short life of Smash 4! Amazing stuff!!!
First U.S. tournament and he nearly beat the best player in the world. Tsu has won over our hearts and have joined the ranks of Ranai and Kameme.
Nearly? Did you watch WF?
JuSaKuO By nearly I meant getting first.
abadongo?
Nr Shocks Abadango's first U.S. appearance wasn't as impressive as Ranai or Kameme or Tsu. Ranai got 3rd at Genesis 3, Kameme got 2nd at Evo 2016, and Tsu got 2nd here, all first U.S. tournament appearance.
Yami Wasn't Abadango's first appearance like 3rd at Evo? Pretty impressive to me.
Tsu fans really wanted Zero to get janked at 50% by an upsmash...
this man works hard for this shit. starting back from years ago.
Craziest, greatest, most intense, nail biting, insanely fucking amazing, words can't even describe anymore, best grand final set EVER.
I love this set so much. It was so close it didn't matter who won at that point
This set on top of the NA Vs Japan crew battle, this tournament is probably the best sm4sh tournament to date!
yo that T.O. looked like he hated his job AND the crowd, like a really tired teacher that's been ready to retire for 7 years already
Every tournament needs a crowd mic. Hearing the crowd LOUDLY get hype on stream is AMAZING!
I'm not particularly a ZeRo fan but Jesus fucking Christ he was playing on point this whole set
Zero, you are a TRUE fighter, i was rooting for you the whole time.
dang idk how to feel about this set anymore
This is honestly the best Smash tourn of this year.
BEST SET
I never released the item grab sound in Sm4sh sounds like Melee fox shine.
41:47 I just find it incredibly funny how the commentators devolve into caveman talk by saying "Shield small shield small"
Awesome job Tsu, and Zero congrats! We can all see this tournament meant a lot to you :)
I will forever remember this match because my tweet was in it right before the last game lol
this has been some of the best smash 4 ive seen in awhile. Jesus always on the edge of my seat
42:04 I think D Disciple pulled off the hug well for Vanessa
Thank you for the awesome memories men
I got to hand it to Zero. THAT MAN is A MANIAC!
Looking back a year afterwards this was probably one of the best smash 4 moments in its history
That blue hoodie dude in the background at 36:16 lmao
Braulio López ayyyy
The insta dabs
it was me
Jayy SSB you're the real mvp
I came to watch this set again 5 months after it happened just because it's the hypest one ever
As a SSBU new player starting to get involved in the community, I didn’t understand why everybody complained about rage, and especially about Lucario rage + aura. Now I understand.
This is one of the most awesome sets i've ever seen !!!!! Whatever who won, this is HYPE !
I want Lucario to get buffed in ultimate just so I can see tsu return to dominance.
This is the most hype I've ever been for ANYTHING Smash related. Omfg! It would have been awesome to see Tsu win, but Zero proving why he is no doubt the best player in the world.

I'm so glad ZeRo won.. the crowd didn't even want Tsu to win... they wanted ZeRo to lose I swear. But yo that set was odee
Damn this was defiantly the best set I have ever seen. This is what competitive sm4sh is all about.
This set made me have a heart attack, I swear to gosh.
Props to the crowd for chanting both players names after the set. This set was the best ever and there wasn't any losers here they just simply ran out of games to play. Amazing
Sad how no one cheers for zero :(. I'm cheering for you man!
Set two was set of the year, possibly even the best set of smash 4 history. Good shit to both players, I'm glad I could watch this live.

This entire tournament was hyped, especially crews. Good job to Zero & Tsu!
This used to be my favourite set in all of Smash Bros.
Now with the guys behind the commentary, I don't know if I should like it anymore.......
Those people may be disgusting but this set is still hype af. Such a shame they've let us down like this
And not just the commentators, Mr. Frostbite 2017 champion himself.
That was one of the best sets I've ever seen melee, pm, smash four ,anything!
Is no one gonna talk about 8:14 upper roght corner
no other smash set in general had made me so hype and actually scream.. best set of the year and the gaming in general... hahaha
