That reminds me of earlier in the 70s, when we welded rusty cars like this back together in Germany... but we had to go to the technical inspection with it... installing the rims the wrong way would have been an absolute absurdity... even though the colleague acted very brutally, but still he deserves a medal for welding with electrodes...all respect! 🥇🏆... we used acetylene and oxygen for welding, until the mig mag or the wire welders came up. he did a lot of work, disassembled everything... he could have worked a little nicer... but he's still a talent👌😎

Mr Ho you did it again beautiful work and a great imagination. Thank you for your time and I'll be waiting for the next video keep it up and God bless you sir.
This is pretty amazing. And I say this as someone who worked around body shops selling PB&E for years. I've seen a few conversions of this type done, and the only thing I can say that I would do differently would be a little stronger material at the top of the rear shock/strut towers and a heavier box system to tie the two upper rear towers together (probably a u shaped box to go under the rear window, with a couple of pillars down to the floor "frame"). Without it, I see some flex issues on the body/chassis, but overall it's amazing. I see some rust I would have cut out replaced as well to make it structurally stronger, but overall, I get the "where do I stop" question on an old beater like this... Also, MAD PROPS for using the stick welder on your sheet metal!
That is all you would do differently? Running those wheels backwards on cut up lug nuts is crazy. The strut towers yes need a heavier gauge material and bracing. The rear door latches were removed and not shown to go back in. Welding and filling in the rear door handles and rear door seam needed to be done as well to finish off the strength of cutting the rear structure completely out. Re bracing of the rear deck to the back of the car needed to be redone or kept in place.
Welding sheet metal with a stick welder isn't easy. It looks great, however, I am concerned about the rear shock towers not being strong enough. How do you plan to get at the mounting nuts now that they are covered with fiberglass?

so much effort and you bypass doing things that directly impact the serviceability and safety of the car the rocker panel is a structural point on these and you did not replace the missing one and left a crap ton of rust holes in the floor by the pedals and put filler directly over rust with no conversion or removal of the rust, unfortunately, this is going to be falling apart faster than it took you to build it also how are you going to change struts in the rear as well as tail lights. I really like the idea and it is fun but I wish you had put more thought into the longevity and safety of the vehicle. Also, flip your wheels back around not only is that unsafe it does not look good.
I think he cut too many corners here compared with his previous video where he restored an engine from the bottom of the ocean. Things he can work on are.. 1) restore the engine bay 2) install a back up light 3) roll out the fenders to cover the wheels 4) cover up the rear door handles 5) lift the front of the car 6) clean the suspension parts.

Awesome!! Love seeing stuff like this and your really the only one I've seen doing it. Maybe you should update along the way? Just do extra stuff to it and post videos. I know me and a lot of others would love to see it. But great jib man!! I'd drive it and use it all the time !!
You made the BEST version that car has ever seen. AMAZINGLY practical and badass.
Respect you!Content creator good for life

Chuẩn bạn, nãy tui cũng xem kênh một ông kia cũng v, kênh Việt Nam luôn mà toàn người nước ngoài khen, mấy ông Việt Nam vô chửi xối xả, k hiểu kiểu gì. Đúng nhân tài ở VN k thể sống đc, ra nước ngoài mới phát triển đc @@
That is a1985 Toyota, had one new in 1985 nice to see it lasted this long! Nice job!
Excelente trabajo saludos desde Honduras
The biggest achievement in my mind is taking all of that apart, especially the dash, and putting it back together.
Damn, your creations are always magical, a joy to watch!
I really like the way it came out, just be aware that running your wheels like that puts a lot more stress on your wheel bearings as well as some differences in handling.
A LOT more i'd say. still, it should work, esp if its not daily driver on long distances ;)
He should widen the front wheel wells so he doesn't have the tires stop when turning
I wonder if he could lengthen the wheel studs and run twin rears like a dually?
Looks a bit like a Subaru brat with that raked stance
Very cool 😎👍
@@nostreamavailable9090 or weld two rims together, have you seen the guy from russia building the cyper punk car, you should check that out its pretty cool.
Excellent very good work, please wear proper eye protection when welding so than you become older you can still see
Should have removed the rear door handles and filled it in as well as the space around the rear door and it would be perfect :)
so much effort and you bypass doing things that directly impact the serviceability and safety of the car the rocker panel is a structural point on these and you did not replace the missing one and left a crap ton of rust holes in the floor by the pedals and put filler directly over rust with no conversion or removal of the rust, unfortunately, this is going to be falling apart faster than it took you to build it also how are you going to change struts in the rear as well as tail lights.
1) restore the engine bay
2) install a back up light
3) roll out the fenders to cover the wheels
4) cover up the rear door handles
5) lift the front of the car
6) clean the suspension parts.
tuyệt quá anh, chỉ tiếc là mấy chiếc xe độ chế không được phép đăng kiểm lưu hành ở Việt Nam
I am a little worried for the rot and the rear coil mounts, but seeing as they are fiberglassed over, it may be fine for a while
until you want to replace those struts
Muy buen trabajo amigo,excelente
I didn't want one of these until now. Go Mr. Ho!
It's a Toyota? It has at least another 100,000 miles worth left in it as long as you stay ahead of the rust! Nice job on the conversion. Can't imagine doing all of that with a stick welder and dark sunglasses.
What I see: a spinoff Subaru Brat but with a DNA of Toyota
"Mom, can we have a Hilux?"
'We have a Hilux at home..."
Well done, Mr. Ho.
you should reallly put a guard on your grinder. that being said, you did amazing work. nice build but your brake lights do not seem to be working
Me Encanto La Conversion Que El Muchacho Le Hizo A Ese Corolla En Una Pick Up Ojala Que En Venezuela Se Lograra Eso Pero Se Podria Arruinar Todo Un Clasico
Nice job !!! 👍
In Italy isn’t possible bild or modify a car easily like this...there’re a lot of burocratic problem... 😡
Very nice work but the wheels with narrow tires goes not look good . With wider tires it would be much better.
