I'm a trucker and I wanted a boot that was both comfortable and durable with good traction. I bought these same exact suede boots in late Nov. and so far they have met all my needs and expectations. They look great too.
I work in a brewery , where the floor is always wet and I’m walking across the plant all day. I bought a pair of these after all different types of work boots have failed , and these boots have been amazing ! Definitely recommend, comfiest pair of shoes I own !
Bought these just for hiking but ended liking them so much I wear them daily in fall and winter. With some warm socks they're fantastic. Fit was perfect, comfortable and light. Good arch support even for someone with plantar fasciitis. I didn't even have to put in special insoles. I'm thinking about getting another pair strictly for hiking.
I use them for hiking and the grip is great and the soles flex enough to tackle boulders and rocks. Water proof in about an inch and a half water, otherwise call em water resistant. For the price they are great till the tread wears out. Sure beats muddy trails versus any sneaker I've worn in those conditions. Good ankle support too.
I do extreme hiking, mountaineering, Bouldering etc and the Newton Ridge is my go to boot. Super light and The grip is insane in mud, ice and wet terrain. The big brands don't do it for me. I'm a Columbia guy
Yea I agree, these boots are surprisingly good! On my second pair with these. I don't use them for anything too crazy anymore, but these cab easily compete with fancy brands!
@@UltimateSurvivalGear Now I'm looking for a boot for mountaineering and more snowy cold conditions. Just got the Bugaboot 3, they seem good. They are heavier and I'm doing a mountaineering trip next week hope they do well
My newton ridge 2, not suede, are 3 weeks old. They are used to dog walk in out local park through wet grass. The waterproof is failing already from water soaking through the leather at the toes. I live in so. California and we are having drought conditions - no rain, no deep puddles. I bought them because they stated they are waterproof, so I am really disappointed. I paid 90 dollars at Big 5 Sporting goods. They are fairly comfortable and the soles have good traction. I tried contacting Columbia for help, but they couldn't be bothered responding either on their customer service chat or phone lines. I mainly want them to tell me how they recommend fixing the waterproofing. So far it's been a real waste of time and money. If you are thinking about buying this make and model of boots, you might want to consider this review. So, I am about to buy an additional waterproofing product ☹. Hope that helps! Buyer beware!!
I walked in them in the rain and on wet grass and they didn't get wet. Maybe impregnating them with the right product helped, which I used after buying them.
I have Columbia winter boots and they claim they're waterproof but I found that the shoe just starts getting wet if I happen to step in the accumulated water. I mean as soon as the cloth starts on the shoe that part just gets soaked in water and I always wonder how people get so comfy and praise Columbia when their shoes leak
If they're definitely advertised as waterproof and not water resistant, then you have the right to return the item for a full refund. If they're fault, you can also as for a replacement.
@alpeshgor7841 I agree with you. At the time, I didn't want to go shopping for another pair of boots. Not only was it time-consuming, but it was during the covid19 years when many avoided being indoors around others. In the end, I bought a product called Sno-Seal, and applied it carefully following recommendations from people online. I applied it twice during the last week of Oct. '22, and it ended up working pretty well. ( I applied it again last year/2023, just in case I needed to go out in heavy rain). If I lived somewhere that got more wet weather, I might feel differently. I bought these boots right around October 1, 2021. At the time, I needed to walk my elderly dog at least 2 to 4 times a day. He walked slowly and dragged his hind feet & toenails a bit, so I tried to keep him on grassy surfaces as much as possible to avoid injuries. Our early morning walks were especially wet from the sprinklers at the park nearby, neighbors' lawns, or even occasional rain. In the end, these boots were fine and probably still are. I don't wear them much. Thankfully, they served their purpose. My dog passed in March '22. I miss him and our walks together! Now, I usually walk on fairly dry surfaces and wear sneakers. Best wishes!
Hello @susanbaker3078 Firstly, I'm sorry for the loss of your dog. I know what this loss feels like. Thank you for your reply and tips to ensure these boots stay waterproof. I done some research into these boots since I asked the the question. It seems the older Newton Ridge were only water resistent (ridiculous for a walking boot). But recent versions are waterproof - and I hope they really are. I have severe Raynauds which in winter causes sores and blisters on my feet and I just cannot walk. The boots I bought have omni-heat which I'm really hoping keeps my feet warm when out. I'm also in the UK which is renowned for it's rain so again also hoping the water proofing really does work. I'll keep you all updated once I've tried them out over the winter.
Thanks for the review which is really helpful. Just wanna check if there is any notable difference between a standard vs. wide style of Newton Ridge Plus II. I would say I have a standard foot (width of foot) but so may prefer a wide style for greater comfort but unfortunately choices in say eBay for new Newton Ridge Plus II hiking boots are mostly if not all of standard model. Your comments will be appreciated.
Thanks for watching! I have not had a chance to try out the wide version, so I can't answer that, but to me personally the standard version allows for enough room in the toe box. Definitely roomier compared to something like Salomon Ultra 3.
I have those boots, I love them but they are kind of small not true size for me at size 12. It would be cool to review Hi Tec V lite boots. I have them they are excellent
I bought the SUEDE version and Amazon sent me the standard version. I bought in a black friday promotion, now they say to return the order and order another one. But how am I supposed to order a SUEDE version since that was the one I ordered before?
Thanks for the review I got these boot at Marks Work Warehouse for $160 CAN and I absolutely love them. I actually usually take a size 11 but had to buy 10.5 because that’s all they had available, and they fit well. So far I love this boot, Comfort mobility, and styling can’t go wrong in my opinion. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Columbia isn't a small company. Their market cap is 4.71 billion. That's about the same as under armor.

thanks for the review. excited to get mine!
I buy a hi-tec ravus quest lux mid wather proff, an they are almost the exact same shoes as this.
Interesting, I haven't had a chance to check anything out from Hi-tec, but I've seen some of their boots on Amazon. Will have to check it out!
Thank you for this review. Definitely helped me out!

Can you tell me which one is better? The Newton Ridge II or The Wayfinder?
how do u do a 3 mile run on boots? sounds like your getting paid to get them sold
How about a 3 month review or even a 6 month? Easy to look good straight out the box.
I was just thinking about making an updated review! I will have it in the next few weeks hopefully!
@@UltimateSurvivalGearhi did you do the updates review on either of these boots?
are these good in snowy conditions?
Has anyone tested just how waterproofed these boots really are?
Very good shoes. They crushed me a little at first but after a few days it was ok, I haven't had such comfortable shoes in a long time.
What size u will take? I mean if u measure your foot 25cm then u will take what size for your pair?
-10 Celsius or Fahrenheit?
Since he said it was in Tennessee and he’s from Florida, it would be an educated guess that he’s talking Fahrenheit….
@@Jacatk88 He has a Slavic accent and -10 Fahrenheit is absurdly cold, so he's probably talking about Celsius
does it has steel toe ?
no. it's a hiking boot not a work boot
тебе во флориде там не жарко в них ?
