A quick note on your comment about favouring MX Optical switches? All I can say is that I've been trawling Ebay for bargain good condition used Corsair boards, and the number of not very old optical-switch boards listed for parts or non-working, is worrying. I got myself an as-new K95 XT with the speed silvers, and changing over from MX Blues after 5 years use every day of my life, and was surprised that I actually like the silvers more for typing and spreadsheet work (after a period of familiarisation). I'm not a touch-typist, and hit my keys like fast Whack-a-mole, but they're nice keys, if you add a couple of the little O-rings under each cap to limit the over-travel and soften the bottom-out.

Funny that you recommend speed switches for typing. My first mechanical keyboard was a k65 rapid-fire with mx speeds and I thought it was amazing until I tried a k70 with reds. I've never got tired of using regular red switches, I dont think (speed switches) are anything other than marketing bs from corsair (so no, I don't think they will make you a better gamer)
I used to think the same until I started using speeds regularly. Now my typing speeds are up to ~125wpm up from ~110 on regulars, and gaming just generally feels better. I tried going back to regular linears, and I found that I was just straight up not pressing far enough to actuate some keys while typing or gaming because I was so used to the 1mm actuation. Not even Razer's V2 analog switch at 1.5mm felt good after using the 1mm actuation for so long. Speeds probably won't be for everyone, but if you can get used to them, they can noticably improve consistency.
Switches with lower actuation points are generally marketed as "feel good" switches. I can agree to that to an extant. I do not agree that such a switch will give you a statistical advantage. At best, you will feel more comfortable when using them. However, even that is subjective because some people do not like a sensitive switch.
