    Very nice mate 👌
    The custom RC Hobby Shed colour mixture looks spot on and the pearl helmet is SchMick !.
    Tamiya design engineers really are pretty good, the steering drag link just sits in place with no clips etc, not bad Tamiya👍.
    Mrs Outback RC Oz said the decal looks like Fearless Fly's cousin Lightning McFly😂
    That sexy body peal segment🤤🤣

    Hi Mick, another quality build mate, she looks fantastic, it really is a grower, I wasn't sure at first, but after all these years it's become a marmite classic! Love the detail you put into the cockpit, with the harness and all that. Top work mate, big thumbs up for the TD!!! 👍😃

      Thanks mate. I'm thinking most of my build videos will be more like this. We all know how to use a screwdriver, I figure there's no point having people sit through a 30 minute video just to see hands flapping around at high speed. I think it may be better this way and just highlight any tricky things or add tips in. 👍

    Nice one - you always do such a neat job on the wiring - which I find really helpful when trying to work out (copy!) the neatest wiring routes to make the cars look nicely finished - so thanks for the close-ups of the chassis electronics and wiring routes on all of your videos - please do carry on on showing that!
    I love these buggies - they really encapsulate retro tamiya for me, with the blue rear arms and slightly quirky/retro futuristic shells with tub chassis - I still have my original terra scorcher from the late 80s which I restored a while ago (as well as a rere!) - so probably why I’m drawn to them - and my “sweetspot” (mid level buggies). Looks really nice and I’m now considering adding one to my collection.
    One thing I find on these is the weak point on the screw at the top and front of the chassis on each side (used to attach the front end to the front of the chassis). Always seem to crack….. can bodge a repair with a washer and epoxy glue/araldite, but I wonder if there’s some form of metal bracket which could be used…?
    Anyway. Great video - and fills me with nostalgia - and now the need to buy one. Damn…

      Thanks for the awesome feedback, Spencer! It's great you find my videos helpful, it's always good hear. I often wonder why I'm doing what I'm doing with this channel but comments like this make it worth while. It's also great to know it's helping others.
      I agree, this style of buggy with the futuristic (for the 80's) body just screams 80's. I think you should grab one!
      I've heard about the weak spot in the chassis, yeah maybe some kind of brace will work. I'll see how this one goes and the Fire Dragon. If either of them fail I might look into making something.
      Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! Haha always the way, I'm always seeing things that hurt the wallet.
      Cheers! 🙂👍

    Hi Mick!!! Really has grown on the the TD!!! Might go this weekend to get mine. I don’t know if you have done a video yet but maybe can you do one as how you tidy up the wires so good? I’m pretty awful at that and consider it my kryptonite!!! Thanks my man and loving your channel!!!

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Chris! Go for it mate, they're a pretty cool buggy. I haven't actually done a wire tidying video, not yet anyway. I just kind of do what I think will work on each car if you know what I mean, so I don't really have any set rules. Of course how far I go with it on each car depends on the car too. For example some cars I may shorten wires, including ESC and servo wires so they're only just long enough and don't need to be tied up. I even use glue sometimes to glue wrapped up wires or even glue them to the car, which some would say is total madness 🤣
      I'll think about it mate and see if I can either come up with a video very soon or at least add it into my next build video with more detail about it. Cheers mate! 👍

    do the fire/saint dragons perform differently than the thunder dragon?? basically front mono shock versus traditional two dampers.

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  2 роки тому

      I've found every car on this chassis to be much the same to drive. I can't really tell any difference in performance at all. Maybe on a proper track the lap times maybe different but I doubt there would be much in it.

  • @superjimnz

    I noticed that pointless bearing when I built my Fire Dragon, it's not clear why they designed that gear like that. I did put thrust bearings in, instead of the plastic bushing and washer (3x locations).

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  3 роки тому

      I think I didn't notice it in my Fire Dragon, just slapped in a bearing and went on my way. It had me scratching my head on this one though. 👍

    • @RCHobbyShed
      @RCHobbyShed  2 роки тому +1

      Good stuff, this will be quite different for you after running the crawlers. You can run hexes for the the 1.9's. Just search eBay for 12mm hex adapters to suit Tamiya, there's heaps out there. 👍
