I fly Aer Lingus regularly between London Heathrow and Chicago via Dublin (A321neo and A330-300 for this last trip). The lowest prices and the ease of Dublin’s USA pre-clearance make it worth the added time for transfer. Dublin Terminal 2 can get extremely busy and over-crowded in the middle of the day when all of the North American flights are departing but I’m used to it.
Same here. I now insist on going through Dublin on trips to the USA. It's much better to deal with the TSA after a one hour flight than the full 8 hours. Also, I got pulled into secondary processing on my last trip, and made me think that if I was going to be refused entry for any reason, better in Dublin than to get across the Atlantic only to be turned back.

Man i wish Aer Lingus would come to Billund. But Hamburg Is only 2 hours and 30 minutes from my doorstep. I prefer Hamburg to Copenhagen due to the toll bridge. But the 2 hours save at pre-clearance I will consider It
Very nice video. Thank you for the well-made, classy video. I love Aer Lingus. Though I've never been on one, I don't know, but since I was a kid, I just always loved their Livery. Aside from that, I read that they will be starting a commuter airline for those short hops to non-major cities throughout Europe. The gentleman that is putting this all together is Sir George Cunna. Everything is in place. The order for smaller propeller-type planes has been placed. The hold-up seems to be a disagreement between Sir George Cunna and the top people of Aer Lingus on the proposed Livery and name for this regional airline. Mr. Cunna insists it be named Cunna Lingus Airlines, but for some odd reason or reasons, the people at Aer Lingus are vehemently against it. It's supposed to be going to court. Ridiculously! All over an airline name?😢
The Business Class seating looks very nice. i know that by me being a tall guy over 6'0", I know that I would go to Business Class on the narrow body crossing the Atlantic. But as you showed the cabin set up, as a second selection the first rows there in Economy Class look like they have the space for you to stretch legs! Again, I thank for sharing you flight.
BA operated LCY-SNN-JFK with an all business class A318. BA001. Stopping in SNN to refuel also allowed passengers to get off and go through Pre Clearance. However this route was scrapped in 2020 and hasn't returned since
Thanks for this. We'll be doing a family vacation in Ireland in September. Not sure if we'll fly Aer Lingus or United, as my home airport is Newark. As of now, Aer Lingus looks to be cheaper, but as seen here, that flight arrives in Dublin at 5:00 am. The United flights arrive later in the day.

You should see CLE airport. Dark, crowded, no moving sidewalk. etc. They talk of redoing the whole thing for about 3+B $. An entire concourse is totally empty as United pulled its hub a few yrs. ago. The airport here mostly caters to the crowd going to FL & Vegas on Spirit, Allegiant or Frontier.
Now that was a very good landing, the catering seemed reasonable were wines and other a alcoholic drinks offered free of charge ? as would be the case with British Airways who are also part of the IAG group.
To me, the most important aspect of any long haul flight is the seat. As a normal size adult man, I simply cannot sit in a 17" seat for several hours, and the 31" pitch does not sweeten the pot.
It might just be me but i honestly love that terminal. it's so quiet and cozy, i dont really know how to describe it lol. the last time i was in it was 2019 though so i can't comment on whatg it's like today. when i was there an alarm went off and i honestly nearly shat myself 😂
I flew Aer Lingus the first time a little over a year ago from SFO. The flight was approximately 10-11 hrs. Dinner was served shortly after takeoff. 30 mins before landing, we got our breakfast (which I thought we wouldn’t be getting as we were about to land). It was very light, it was some sort of a “hot pocket”, kinda disappointing. Also, on my way back to SFO, they somehow lost my luggage, got it back after a week, another disappointment.
I always thought coathooks on a plane are pointless, especially in economy seat as it would just take up room and cover the seat back screens? And probably annoy the passengers sitting around you. I took the Aer Lingus flight between Dublin and Hartford CT around 7 years ago. They were using 757s, and they were OLD, and too long, especially when you needed the toilet during the flight. Seats were pretty tired if I recall aswell. The TSA pre-clearance was very good though. On the way back, I experienced the worst, excruciating, scariest turbulence of my life. We must have hit a pocket of abnormal, or no air pressure, the plane jerked to the side, all the food and drinks flipped into the aisle and for about an hour the plane just shook like hell and you could tell we were losing altitude rapidly. I can't help but think this effect would have been offset a bit had the plane been a wide-body. However the staff were INCREDIBLE, didn't panic and kept asking if we were ok. I vowed though, never to take a narrow body over the atlantic again, even if it isn't that long a flight, to me anyway. These new planes look comfy though, so....maybe. They're resuming the Dublin - Hartford route this month, which works for me, and I know they'll never operate a wide body on that route, and that also this is the way flying is going now. I guess we can't change....er....physics.

I was at Newark a few months ago and the airport really is SHOCKING, they need to renovate like ASAP🤣
Pre security is fine along with the United terminal but anything else is eh
Great video, man, very entertaining. And also I know it's not new at all, but I gotta say the opening sequence looks so cool!
Man i wish Aer Lingus would come to Billund. But Hamburg Is only 2 hours and 30 minutes from my doorstep. I prefer Hamburg to Copenhagen due to the toll bridge.
But the 2 hours save at pre-clearance I will consider It
who would of thought 10-15 years ago we would be able to fly on an A 321 ova the pond!
737s have been doing transatlantic flights for decades.
Contrived unfunny rubbish
@@alanm7697 That's because the people your way only understand rubbish comedy like Benny Hill...
Thank you for sharing your flight here from back in the summer in June.
Was there Premium Economy on this arrow body flight? Those long-haul flights you need the space and more to relax.
Nice with you noticing Teterboro Airport is that other busy general aviation airport. The corporate jets look so nice fly there.
Fantastic trip report Felix!😸
Love the Mrs Doyle messaging on the tea cup 😂😊
Air Canada used to operate a flight with an a319 from St Johns to London Heathrow
They are also flying the Max between Halifax and London
BA operated LCY-SNN-JFK with an all business class A318. BA001. Stopping in SNN to refuel also allowed passengers to get off and go through Pre Clearance. However this route was scrapped in 2020 and hasn't returned since
@@cocazade7703 yeh, I remember that route
@@cocazade7703 they should buy an a220-300 for LCY-JFK
Thanks for this. We'll be doing a family vacation in Ireland in September. Not sure if we'll fly Aer Lingus or United, as my home airport is Newark. As of now, Aer Lingus looks to be cheaper, but as seen here, that flight arrives in Dublin at 5:00 am. The United flights arrive later in the day.
What a beautiful cabin!
It's crazy that LaGuardia after the renovation is SO MUCH better of an airport than Newark. With so many landing fees and parking garages filled up Newark, the Port Authority should finally give Newark a much needed makeover
How is LGA a better airport you have your opinion to say that but it's not we direct access to NJ Transit and Amtrak and we have direct international flights to every part of the global LGA do not
@@mrrockdaddy100 I'm referring purely to the terminals. It's obvious when planned way back in the day that LGA was domestic and JFK was the international gateway

Years ago in 2002 I travelled from Manchester UK to the Dominican Republic on an Airbus 321-300 with Thomas cook, I remember thinking I was on the wrong flight lol, usually an A330 or 747, or A 767 when ive been across the Atlantic before.
Effortless flying! Great video. Your meal looked a winner! Preferred the old Aer Lingus livery of green on top. Always reminded me of Ireland. Why change a winning livery?
White paint is MUCH cheaper ...
I cant get enough of that intro music. Keep it as your flagship theme 🎉🎉
Great video. Would like to fly with A321LR long haul in the future if there's chance.
aer lingus is amazing! I have been waiting for you to publish this video!
The 'breakfast' is perfectly fine as you say, however I question the needless use of packaging for a carton of orange juice and a granola bar.
Hi, I like your trip reports!
Maybe you could fly from KSF one day, for example with Sundair or Corendon?
Now that was a very good landing, the catering seemed reasonable were wines and other a alcoholic drinks offered free of charge ? as would be the case with British Airways who are also part of the IAG group.
Im Irish and thank you for flying with aer Lingus i hope you enjoyed your flight, I'll be flying to Toronto on Halloween with aer Lingus
To me, the most important aspect of any long haul flight is the seat. As a normal size adult man, I simply cannot sit in a 17" seat for several hours, and the 31" pitch does not sweeten the pot.
Cool Video! The best aviation channel!
Whenever I fly in/out of EWR, I always feel there is more to do OUTSIDE of security
I agree!!!!
Lovely Jet 🛩️ Really enjoyed that video and all your knowledge on planes. Thank you. ✈️
Still not even that bad. Get rid of the gate "Spokes", re-build them, and keep the head house for customs take (built in 1990s).
Heyho from a Planespotter and Flightreporter from Frankfurt, Germany ✈️✈️🇩🇪🇩🇪🖐🖐
Hallo wie geht's dir?
:D
I remember when Aer Lingus done the Atlantic crossings in Boeing 747s....Now using these little things... 🤔
Thanks for sharing love tthe mappings find you need to border your wordingThanks for the trip
Super quality video. Must be 4K. Or I am on my TV. The take off shot is amazing quality
Thank you so much for making an effort and getting our language spot on!
That IFE looked responsive. That's so rare.
Finally Aer Lingus 😊
I really love this song !! 🎵 Lol. It gives me very uplifting feels / moods ! 😌 😆And I love your reviews !! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
