I just bought a K6 in the US. It is in a backyard and I need to move it. Do you think it may be possible to move if I remove the door, glass side panels and back panel? Then tilt it on a dolly to move it ? Or will it still be to heavy for two people to move ?
Personally I wouldn’t, it would be very top heavy and you’d probably break the corner pillars or tip it over. It will be more pain for you in US to get replacement corner pillars than to remove the top pieces. Roof is really heavy, be careful and good luck 👍
YOU may have your own bit of English heritage in your own garden but what about the fact that this is a British Icon! Are you going to show this as a museum piece to the public and tell its history to your children and grandchildren? Will you continue to use your mobile phone and texting instead of having conversations?
Great video. I have one which has been sat in my garage for the last 4 years due to lack of time. Now i need to dismantle it for access. How did you manage to get the top off? Also when you drilled out the bolts did you have to re tap the holes? Kind regards
Been 10yrs since I did it but roof fixed by 2 screws each side from inside (vid 2:24), very heavy. Drilled about 80% out, drill stepping up in 3 sizes, sometimes come out with reverse thread screw extractor but not often. Screws very hard, need centre punch and cobalt bits or better. Had to tap and helicoil only a few and used original size BSW replacement fixings 👍
@@srdsol Thankyou i guess i need to keep an eye out all the time one may turn up. Do you have yours working ? Does it connect to your line? Good video thankyou !!
Max_Drift_King 911 I got it off eBay a few years ago, they come up now and again but not often. You could try Carl at Remember When, (www.redtelephonebox.com)
@@srdsol Did you manage to get the payphone working as well? Mine is stuck in "999 calls only" mode. The best I've managed to do is give it some power and the screen lights up and scrolls between "BT Payphones" and "Lift Handset". Sadly, to get into Maintenance mode needs a 6-digit PIN, which I don't have :-(
Jolie travail 🙂
well done to you, thanks for taking the time to do this vid. great effort!
Thank you
Were to find the interior? The telephone and the information etc
Great job how is it looking now?

@@srdsol many thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I will attempt to take it apart in the next couple of months.
Nice, did you need any special equipment to drill the bolts out or a normal drill and kit?
Get the best quality drill bits you can and some lubricant ! Need to drill pilot through the centre then go up a size in a few increments.
Hi, where did you get your payphone ?
EBay, many years ago
