I'm dying to ditch Goodreads, but the biggest thing about Fable I'm struggling with is seeing an Author's entire library and also a Book Series database where I can see each book in a single series. The aesthetic of Fable is cute, but logging in Fable and searching in Goodreads is counterintuitive for me! Definitely would like to see if StoryGraph could be a good alternative for me.
@@alielacasse7954 if you look up a book and scroll down they now have the books organized in a series! I think it was a super recent update, and it seems like not all the books in their database are organized. But it’s a huge improvement they’ve come out with recently! Maybe try Storygraph, while I liked all the stats, I didn’t really like the social aspect of it. Thanks for watching and commenting 🫶🏻
Thanks for this video. I'm new to Fable and I'm really enjoying the app, although there are a few things that I'm missing: - To be able to make searches per author. (Is that possible?) - A page count on the stats tab. (A "number of pages" goal, alongside the "number of books" one, would be great. A very nice incentive to read larger books) - A space for additional notes on the books' page. Overall, the app is great and has an even better social aspect than Goodreads, IMO. The reviews there seem to be more genuine and realistic, as well. I could really consider switching for good this time. I tried Storygraph too, but couldn’t get used to it. With Fable, I’m having a much more pleasant experience.
@@raquelra5878 you can currently search by author! Just go to the explore section and write down the author name. They don’t have a page count tab yet, but i would love one too! I’m glad you’re enjoying fable, they’ve made a lot of positive changes since i’ve made this video. I’m still using it, and will continue to do so in 2025. Thanks for commenting ! 🫶🏻
@ Thanks for the tip! I’m excited to keep using Fable through 2025 and see how it goes. As a minimalist, I’d love to use just one App, but I’m not ready to leave Goodreads just yet. It has a lot of downfalls, but it still has the best database. BTW, Happy New Year!
@@raquelra5878 i’m still currently using both too, for the same reason. Once Fable catches up, I’ll probably leave Goodreads behind! Happy New Year to you too 🫶🏻
I haven't heard about Fable, but it does seem like it has a lot of great features. I mainly use Goodreads on my laptop, so it would be nice if all the features of Fable were eventually available on the website. I'll have to check out the app though!
I do think that is the major thing it needs to add! I love the Goodreads website, so if fable implemented it, i might switch completely. Thanks so much for watching ! 🫶🏼

The only thing that’s keeping me from moving to fable is that it doesn’t count re-reads to your reading goal. There are a handful of books that I’ve read twice this year and it’ll only count them once. So I’m gonna keep using Goodreads for now but I might switch at the new year
I didn't realize they don't count towards your reading goal! I started using Fable last month, and haven't done any rereads this year. But it makes sense that you would be frustrated, because it still counts as an extra book read! I'm still currently using both simultaneously, but in the 3 months I've been using it, I think I still like Fable more! Hopefully they fix that and add multiple reads as an option in the future. Thanks for watching! xx
You probably could! There’s a lot of bookclubs that run giveaways for free copies of books, and if you message the moderator privately, i don’t see why that couldn’t be an option.
Hi Melina I was hoping you could help me. I’m having some difficulty. Could you please let me know how I can download Fable to my Kindle? Looking forward to hearing back from you 👍🏻🥰
@@KimsterTube as of now, there’s no way to download the books to Kindle from Fable, but I’m pretty sure they’re working on a way to both upload your epubs to Fable and allow their epubs to other reading tablets. Sorry!
@@heyyitsmelina thank you so much for your quick response. I really appreciate it. And I had a feeling that it could not be done because I tried everything I could think of and couldn’t get it to work. Thanks again and I hope you have a wonderful week.👍🏻🥰
An someone tell me how to crest my own reading list icon in Fable? Like the TBR box or Didn’t finish box? Is the a Fable instruction manual on line somewhere?
@@kimberlybuckmister9108 so when you create a fable account it automatically creates 4 folders! A “want to read”, a “currently reading, a “did not finish”, and a “finished” section. You can access this in the Library tab. If you want to add other categories you scroll down and click “create a new list”. I personally added an “all time favorites” category and “put on pause” category! I hope this helps:)

I've been on Fable for a month or so. Really enjoying it. Feels like a space just for readers.
Yes! My thoughts exactly. The person who made it is for sure a person who originally used goodreads, and thought of all the ways to make it better!
@heyyitsmelina haha exactly!
Can you pay a moderator of a bookclub on fable to market your book?
