A stroke was my biggest fear too. My son did need a pacemaker for a while, but after the right ventricle wasn't so stiff the arrhythmia went away. I won't lie after you walk in and see him right after surgery is the hardest part. Surgery is the easy part for us. We have HORRIBLY long recoveries due to his prematurity. Good Luck!
My prayers are with you through this journey. My son had an extensive surgery to fix something he was born with. I empathize with you my friend. I was also pregnant with my third when he underwent surgery and don't be afraid to talk to him and cry and let him know you are there with him. The people completely understand. My husband and I stayed in the waiting room and the nurse inside the procedure room would call us and make updates. Be strong ❤️

What a grueling and emotional process! I can't wait until it is all over for you. I have been thinking about and praying for you as the surgery date nears and of course I will be praying tomorrow that everything goes perfectly and for Andy and you emotionally. I can't imagine having to hand Emerson over at this tiny age for such a big surgery, my heart hurts for you guys.
My daughter also has heart problems which I mentioned it to you before..not sure if you remember. But she had her heart surgery at 6 weeks old at 6lbs. She did perfect! While I was at the cardiologist a nurse told me her daughter has what your son has and today her daughter is perfect and she also had the two surgerys and now she is getting married next month and she also has a child!! Everything will be ok he looks so good and that's a great sign. Prayers sent your way

She was way too small for surgery and too sick when they found it. She wasn't even 4lbs yet and they didn't find it until she was almost 4 months old. Anyhow keeping him and you and Andy in my prayers.
I know it is completely different when it's your sweet tiny baby, but if it is any comfort, I just had emergency surgery and my surgeon also seemed very amazing with what he did but lacked emotion a bit. He was amazing though and everything went perfectly. I think it takes one kind of doctor to be a doctor and a whole different breed to be a surgeon and they just don't think the same and seem a bit (cold isn't the right word) distant emotionally, maybe very cerebral with speaking to a patient. You are such an amazing mommy so I know it is rough thinking about all of this, and at this point probably dealing with the post op stuff. Just know you all are in my prayers and many others during such a long stressful situation. Love to you all!

Wow...thank you for this update. Hard times huh? First of all, that hospital sounds wonderful! Very impressive. I think he's going to be in the best place he can possibly be. I know they want to prepare you for everything, but it can get to be a bit much. Too much information sometimes. Its best though. It sounded a little like the surgeon made you a little uncomfortable with maybe too light of an attitude. I'm sure that he is trying to calm your fears by making things seem not so serious. You have to remember that for you this is a HUGE deal, but for him its just his job.. He does this all the time, and that's what you want. Amy, I have a very good feeling about this. It will go well and beautiful Charlie will be fine. You are a wonderful family....I'll be thinking and praying for you guys all day tomorrow. Love and prayers and blessings for Charlie.
