CHICKEN AND RICE RECIPE
Ingredients:
Whole Chicken or Chicken Parts
White Rice May vary
(2 Cups Broth to 1 Cup Rice)
(4 Cups Broth to 2 Cups Rice) etc.
1/2 Stick of Butter (optional)
1 Medium Chopped Onion
1 Medium Chopped Bell Pepper
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon of Onion Powder
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
For a Creamier Chicken and Rice
Use 1 Can of Cream of Chicken

I been scared to try to cook chicken and rice cause I can't cook but I love it. Looks simple enough im going try it. Nice
I love to see people passing down old recipes they remember from their parents and grandparents. It’s becoming a lost art.
My grandma used to make this and it was so good and filling. The black pepper is a KEY ingredient. Im gonna have to make this now!🥰🥰
My 92 year old mother makes it just like that. love it.

This is JUST how my mother used to cook it. It was one of those meals she would make to stretch for a couple days. I didn't always enjoy it as a kid. But when I grew up I would miss it and would have her cook it for me from time to time. She lives in Vegas now so we are far apart so now I have to cook it. I'm going to cook it tonight for my wife. My husband is extremely picky and will not eat onions. I love how customizable chicken and rice is, and that you (just like me) are not afraid to use powdered spices and seasonings! I’m limited to what I can put into my homemade chicken and rice, simply because he is so very picky, and I’m serious when I say, that I truly appreciate your cooking videos so very much. I actually incorporate time spent watching your cooking videos as part of my anxiety therapy! Yes, that’s right! You can add “helping people with their de-stressing coping mechanisms” to the list of ways YOU so richly contribute to humanity. So I want to take a moment to sincerely THANK YOU for helping me through some tough times! I either learn something new from you, or feel better knowing that the ways that I do things in many of my own recipes, are quite like yours! I admire your laid-back and relaxed approach to cooking, and just want to let you know what an invaluable resource your cooking videos are!
I have one question, if I may (and if you’ve taken time out to read my comment/question, thanks so much!)
May I ask, what are your thoughts on using Accent seasoning? Personally, I really love it, for me it adds a depth of Umami to everything I use it on, and there has been NO (proven) scientific evidence to support that theory that MSG is detrimental to the human body when consumed. May I ask if you find it objectionable to use Accent for extra flavor on occasion?

Jenneandjoe Good Morning ☀️ I understand about you adjusting your dishes for picky eaters. My oldest daughter Amanda is the pickiest of our family. She hate onions too. She has gotten a little better since she has a family of her own now. You have really made my day. My heart is so full of joy and happiness. Yes..I read comments that I can see. You just don’t know how bad I have been feeling for this last week. I’m feel so much better today. I decided to reply to my comments and saw this one and many more. You are welcome. Thank you Ms. Brenda Dee. I stumbled upon your channel for the first time today and saw this recipe. It almost brought me to tears because I remember eating this during my childhood with my grandmother. I remember so many of her flavors, but was too young to think to write them down. As a young child I just imagined she would be with us for a while, but time wasn’t on our side and she passed away before I started cooking. Now that I am a mother myself, I think about her in the kitchen a lot and remember the way her food tasted and smelled. My mother and Aunties are great cooks, but it just doesn’t taste actually like hers. I miss her terribly!!! Keep sharing and posting, especially for the youngsters, so they will always have a place to go and reflect.

Looks yummy 👍! Only difference with mine is I add a little celery and use a little less rice so it's more moist. Sometimes I do add cream soups when it's for a large number of people to stretch it.

Thats how my mom used to make it. It doesn't look good while the chicken is boiling but once that rice and butter are in there it is so good

I like pepper with chicken and rice as well, so I like that you added a bit more.
I have been thinking about making chicken and rice. For me, I think the hardest part will be judging how much rice to add given the amount of broth I have.

Hello Ms. Brenda, That dish looks so good. Chicken-n-rice is a dish that goes way back generations. My mother used to prepare it. My aunt would make an oven baked chicken and yellow rice. I love the chicken and yellow rice as well and would make it from time to time. They both are a great family meal and get you out of the kitchen faster.

Hello Mrs Brenda! your chicken and rice looks absolutely delicious my mother made this when i was growing up i loved it wow this brought back wonderful memories! I'm going to surprise her with this wonderful meal she would use a little turmeric in the broth also diced celery along with the onions & peppers i will take off the skin because I'm not a fan of soggy skin not even when i was a kid i would take it out of the dish lol! also I'm going to use chicken bouillon for more flavor thank you for this wonderful idea! stay blessed have a wonderful evening!!!!👍👌🔥😋💖
