Sir I haven't found the theoretical portion of Milling Machine in your playlist associated with this mathematical problem. Could you please suggest me ?
Sir na na karte smjha hi dia aapne compulsory approach. You're the greatest sir. Every other teacher is busy promiting his/her "packages", you are the only teacher whose motive is to deliver knowledge only. Thank you so much sir.
Sir, i have a doubt regarding this question. In this question , they have mentioned that it is side milling cutter , which actually is a type of end milling cutter(vertical milling machine) . Also it is mentioned that it is face milling, for which vertical milling machine is preferred. But in the solution u have taken it as a peripheral milling cutter(horizontal milling machine). I did the answer taking it as end milling cutter with the corresponding compulsory approach formula, and got a different answer. Sir which one should actually be taken, and why?
@@kushagratiwari96 both slot milling and face milling can be done with both horizontal and vertical milling machines. It not true that slotting can be done only with horizontal milling machine, it can bo done using vertical milling machines also
@@sumaisjalaludheen5561 yes brother it can be done with both vertical and horizontal but if we use vertical milling machine width of slot will be produced same as the diameter of the cutter. But here the diameter of cutter is 100mm and slot width is 25 mm.
I m the 70th person who really understands compulsory approach, thank you so much sir , many books claim ans to be 8.1 min ,but in reality it's 7.4 . 🙏🙏🙏🙏
sir you are using peripheral cutter which is somehow wrong... in example itself it is mentioned face mill cutter which is used on vertical milling machine and the peripheral cutter is used in horizontal milling machine.
in questions approach length and overtravel are always mentioned ,what isn't mentioned is whether to consider compulsory approach or not,it depends on data! (ex: compulsory approach in drilling need point angle,if point angle is not mentioned ,we cannot consider compulsory approach) no need for compulsory overtravel as the relavent data is given along with approach length
Hello @exergic sir in official key it was given D/2 for compulsory approach. Though 7.4 lies in the range but why they took D/2. The solution should be what you solved in the video. But how they took D/2. Hope you would give reply to my message. Thank you sir..
Here side and face milling means end milling cutter, which has teeth on periphery as well as on its face, and it is not in the shape of a wheel rather a drill like shape. So D/2 should be the compulsory approach to completely remove the material. Sir has shown a peripheral milling cutter here.
@@romitrana8631 yes but in the problem they asked to slot a 25×25 on it so we have to consider peripheral mill cutter so it is not D/2 for approach. With both the methods we are getting answers in the given range but exact compulsory approach is √d(D-d) right ?
@@Yash.027 Yes sir please make a video on how to challenge the answers also and how to write in a proper way so that professors can understand what we are trying to explain.

How can we create a slot using a vertical milling cutter?

I am also confused......can any one explain briefly?

Sir I couldn't find this lecture in video course . Are these for youtube channel only?
Thank you sir for this.... I was searching for this everywhere.... really happy to see the logic behind the solution of this question... ❤️
I think we should should challenge official solution...this explaination is correct....

*In some websites compulsory approach is D/2, or √(d(D-d). In this video it is different. What is the difference? Help*
He did √(D^2 - (D-d)^2) basically. It is the same as √d(D-d)
Yessss.... Aise hi kiya h aur yhi answer aya... I was worried seeing the solution of other institutes... What a 😌 relief
Sir please solve question of set 2, in which ratio of total time per pass for S1 and S2 is asked. It is creating a lot of confusion.
Sir what about range in some questions they have given Very close range. I have lost 2 marks just because my answer difer by 0.01.set 1.
Sir it's an example of slot milling. Compulsury approach is D/ 2 na?
like compulsory approach... wont it have a compulsory over travel???please reply

❤great 👍 you're speaking in English 😊
Does this video is added on your video course??
Explanation for tom( disc) question is needed sir.
Superb explanation
Is there anything called compulsory overtravel?
Sir gate answer key is different for this question . Which one is correct ?
Thank u so much such
Terrific explanation
Solution for vibration problem.. massless rod..paper 1 in Rayleighs method
Big relief.😌😌
Thank you sir🙏
Sir why not u considered time taken for return pass
During return no machining occurs
Sir it's face filling you have taken it as peripheral milling.
Face and side milling cutter hai. Face milling nhi ho rha.aisa cutter jisse face pe bhi abrasive hai and side bhi. Qs Dhyan se padho.
sir will the answer 7.2 will be in range??
