Rest In Peace to a True Icon! 🌹
Icon? Famous, yes! But icon, no.
RIP
RIP
@@zyxw2024 icon yes. Stfu okay???
She was an atheist. She's not resting in peace
She's not wearing any jewellery and has such a simple dress yet it manages to come off looking elegant. That's poise and taleny
+Daphne Wong So true! And her naturally gorgeous hair hair is not "puffed out" or overdone like many of the others.
Same with Raquel Welch. This is why 70's fashion is timeless. You can wear a simple slip dress and your hair down you wouldn't look dated at all today.
@@perpieta g
And before hearing the winner seemed happy the whole time. I don't know if they're told ahead of time, probably not, but either way, it's pleasant to see. Everyone else is always so stern-faced during these, especially the people in the video.
She does not need it.
She floated up to that stage, I swear. What a doll.
The greatest winner the category ever saw. Go easy, Cloris. RIP.
She was good, but the greatest? Did you see performances from Beatrice Straight, Lupita Nyongo, Sandy Dennis, Brenda Fricker, Anne Hathaway, Geena Davis, Linda Hunt, to name a few?
@@RobertPagano226 Yep. I've seen every Oscar-winning performance (save for Emil Jannings's lost turn in "The Way of All Flesh") and when it comes to Best Supporting Actress, Leachman is my #1 of all time, nominated or otherwise.
She’s also my favorite winner in this category. The greatest by far.
👍 Glad we still have Gene Hackman !
@Eilliw Nodrog I doubt color had anything to do it, she was excellent in that role, the whipping scene alone showcased all her emotions.
Rest In Peace Cloris Leachman. What a wonderful actress. She could do comedy and drama. #Respect
She was a Miss Chicago in 1945 .
I loved how Cloris Leachman glided up to the stage. THAT is how you accept an award.
I just saw this for the first time and said out loud she 'floated' to the stage. LOL
Agility, lightness of foot. She as a thin person must've been a very good dancer
@@mariocisneros911 Fellow Northwestern alumnus Paul Lynde said she was chubby back then.
And the smiling when her name was announced,& when she won! It made me smile to see her joy!😎👍
Truly one of the most deserved wins in Oscar history.
My heart dropped when she said "I'm having an amazing life, and it isn't over yet!" :( RIP Cloris--amazing to the end :)
She lived to 94… that’s amazing. She was a great actress.
@@samhain1894 She must have been 45 here. She lived almost 49 more years.
I totally thought that too!
Is she though?
She lived another entire life after this moment when you think about it.
" I've had an amazing life and it isn't over yet, " says Cloris. It wouldn't be over for another fifty or so talented years. She was a huge talent.
Cloris was so incredibly young-looking! She was 45 years old at the time, almost 46, but she looked much younger.
+bluedasher74 Whoa! I figured she was in her 20s...
This video clearly highlights why and how hair color, length, texture, makeup, and physical fitness can alter your looks to make you look younger or older. 3 years later, she chopped off her hair and darkened it and she looked dramatically older.
Cloris always practiced fasting to stay youthful. She is in her 90's and still vital.
@@gwenbardon6025 To think that her Oscar acceptance was over half her life ago. I doubt she expected that to be the case at the time.
An avowed Vegetarian and into her mid-90s now in 2020.
One of the best wins in this category ever.
RIP to a legend
One of the greatest performances of all time, she owned that movie. Rest in peace Cloris Leachman, you will be missed. What a gift she was.
I'm going to disagree with you here....
Do doubt her performance was electric and her and Ben deserved their statues but this movie has just one hell of an ensemble cast all working in tandem and giving their all.....I think everyone owned this film...
Cloris and Ben were the anchors...
Oh, yes. The final scene of the film is astounding.
RIP to an incredible legend. She truly earned this award.
I love that she makes the point that she will not name the fellow celebrities and industry workers most actors thank, but the people who really got her where she was at that moment: her parents and teachers. Very refreshing. She will be missed.
She was an absolute knockout, and her performance was indeed Oscar worthy!
Her laugh at 1:17 was perfect. Such a beautiful lady. RIP
Sincere condolences to her family, a lot of us are thinking about you even though we don't know you, we so loved your mom and grandma.
RIP FRAU BLUCHER. Your horse and carriage await you.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great reference to a great movie!
She’s with Madeline Kahn now.
Yessss young Frankenstein my favorite comedy EVER
Frau Blucher...love her forever!
Cloris died today. Rest In Peace to this woman ❤️
Cloris Leachman pretty much owned "The Last Picture Show"
+Gunnhild Edwards
A lot of the actors were great in The Last Picture Show.
I remember Ellen Burstyn the most
@@palaciospalacios9319 Cybill Shepard made quite an impression but her acting was not notable. I think Cloris outdid Ellen. But Ellen was beautiful in the movie.
RIP Cloris Leachman (April 30, 1926 - January 27, 2021), aged 94
You will always be remembered as a legend.
Her little leg kick at 1:10. Oh, Cloris. She's always been such a cute little class act.
That dress, that hair, that body, that smile!
We lost a great actress and now this star will shine in the sky.
RIP Fräulein Leachman 💐
She really wasn't kidding when she said it wasn't over yet. She would go on to continue producing entertainment for over 48 additional years, including 8 Prime Time Emmy award wins and a list of awards and nominations so long that it has its own Wikipedia page.
Man Grandma Ida was stunning and really genuine. Just finished Malcolm in the Middle and now I learn she's gone. Rest in Peace Cloris
Wow. She would have been about 45 years old here but looks 10 years younger. Quite a stunner.
yeah, she was always quite the looker.
O' yes. I was just a kid at the time I suer thought so
Great actress, and great performance in THE LAST PICTURE SHOW (1971). This was a well-deserved Oscar for her.
she was such a beautiful lady. talented and charming and funny. thank you for all the years of entertaining us
People go the gym 6 days a week to look the way people normally looked when they woke up 50 years ago. RIP Cloris...foxy lady.
Haha what? People looked fucking old back in the day. You had 20-year olds looking like seasoned 30-year olds. Everyone smoked, ate shit food, and people generally didn't go to the gym. People these days look so much younger and healthier than they did in back then. Of course, I'm just speaking anecdotally based on my experience as a Swedish person.
She looks so pretty. I love the long hair and the simple but elegant and classic black dress.
Legend. R.I.P. Ms. Leachman. Wooftie, what a beauty.
Her character in that timeless picture, in that very heart-breaking role, was really amazing. Rest in peace!
Enjoyed her talent so much over the years she was zany & fun & very entertaining!
Oh my God!!! Cloris was incredibly beautiful, graceful and oh, so elegant! What class!!!
Will always LOVE Ann Margret's humble reaction when the winner was announced. ♥♥♥♥♥
In her autobiography Ann stated that she took her losing hard I just paraphrased what she said she was amazing in Carnal Knowledge it reminded me of what Marilyn Monroe could have done if she was given the chance Ellen Burstyn was superb in the Last Picture Show competitive category that year Cloris Ann and Ellen all gave Oscar caliber performances that still hold up today I don't know which one I would have voted for
One of the most deserving wins in this category!
What a looker and what a wonderfully funny acceptance speech, goodnight beautiful Cloris, sleep well
Rest In Peace, Meine Liebe.
Cloris Leachman Has Left This Planet, But She will Not Be Forgotten!!!💜☄🪐🌙🖤
Cloris Leachman is sharp. Flowing hair and everything. Rest in peace.
She was great in "The Last Picture Show". She deserved the Oscar.
I saw this film today, and by god did she deserve this award. A great performance in a film filled to the brim with great performances.
Oh, how glorious. RIP Cloris Leachman. You fabulous Goddess. ❤
Another one of the most deserving of winners in this category. Cloris knocked it out of the park especially in that last scene when she threw the coffee pot. Moving beyond words.
+TheChannel.TV One of my favorite scenes of all time. I periodically look it up on youtube to remind myself.
+Martin Weiss
I don't blame you. Nice to know somebody else cherishes it.
That scene was reportedly done on the first take without rehearsal. Cloris told Peter Bogdanovich that she felt she could have done it better. He told her, "No, you can't. You've just won the Oscar". And he was right.
RIP Cloris, so much talent ...you will be missed.
RIP you beautiful talented amazing woman.
R.I.P., Ms. Leachman. She was 94.
Rest In Peace Ms Cloris Leachman.
She is always smiling and laughing she knows how to live
Wow. Cloris Leachman was a hottie.
"I'M HAVING AN AMAZING LIFE AND IT ISN'T OVER YET" A very good way of optimistic visualization is to trick your mind into believing that you've just won the lottery or that you're about to receive an award such as an Oscar... Cloris, in this video, is the most genuine proof of how joyful you get when practising such exercises on your everyday life. :)
Cloris in high anxiety was spot on hilarious.I was a teenager when I first saw that movie, and it is still one of my favorites. Cloris where ever you are thank you, thank you....
Wow, what a smile! She was beautiful. RIP! 🙏🏻
She was so beautiful her entire life!
Rest in Peace Cloris. This was one of many memorable performances and we are grateful to have spent 94 years with you.
Rest well with Mary and Rhoda.
and Georgette & Ted...
How sad. Those three wonderful women and friends are gone. That just hit me with your comment.
One of the best-deserved Oscars the Academy has ever awarded. The closing scene of The Last Picture Show is in a class of it's own. Absolutely heart-rending.
“The past beats inside me like a second heart.” John Banville I’m glad I experienced these memorable times.
Wild and wacky, and deeply beautiful 💔 we will miss you.
A brilliant performance - by her and Ben Johnson. Both deserved those Oscars.
An amazing talent - lucky enough to create a part for her, have her say yes & watch her bring my words to life. She was a truly great actress. R.I.P. helluva career, helluva life
Very talented actress who will be dearly missed. R.I.P
R.I.P., Cloris, I was at a funeral today for a beloved church member and heard of your death on the way home from church and wish you heaven if you’re a believer!
When Cloris Leachman died this year, I put her oscar win and speech on my Facebook page. Cloris Leachman and Whoopi Goldberg were the ONLY TWO Oscar speeches I had on my Facebook page. No one else. I love that flowing hair of Cloris Leachman when she first gets out of the chair to get her Oscar. RIP to miss Leachman.
One of the most deserving award winners in Oscar history. Beautiful
Rest in Peace Cloris Leachman
. A true Lady and a phenomenal Artist.
If you're a young lady looking for a strong female role model to imitate, then look no further.
Cannot not mention how absolutely stunningly beautiful and poised Rachel Welsh was
Loved Cloris as Phyllis on the Mary Tyler Moore show.
+AstralPixie I used to skip the episodes she is in. LOL...
This show on UA-cam brought me here.
Maissan Noor you have shitty taste if you skip Phyllis
I never forget that great afterschool special she did. Cloris won a well-deserved Daytime Emmy for her brilliant performance.
RIP Cloris Leachman 1926-2021😔🙏❤️🌷!!!
This makes me so happy, she had an amazing life. Totally deserved, genious!

The lady paid her dues and earned this award. RIP
People forget how great an actress she was.
She just passed away at 94 in 2021

Cloris was absolutely gorgeous when she was young.
she was such a beauty. very beautiful with very beautiful hair
Such a beautiful woman and great talent! I always loved her character, Phylis, on the MTM show. She lived a good long life! I was not aware, until after her passing, that she lived here in Encinitas, California! RIP Cloris. ✌🏻
I loved how Cloris never held back. You always got your money's worth with her. Every time she appeared on any screen you just couldn't wait to hear what she had to say and how she was going to say it!
What a beauty, Cloris Leachman just Shines!
What a beautiful lady. RIP Cloris
So sad to hear about her passing. Enjoyed her so much
She is brilliant.
So wonderful to see this here. Loved that lady! I had to lucky pleasure to see the filming of her show Phyllis almost every week in the audience. (MTM show before that). Such fun and wonderful memories. She was one of a kind.
I saw The Last Picture Show last night. Cloris gave an amazing performance. She's one of the best actresses around. I'm glad she won the oscar.
She was an amazing woman & honestly deeply beautiful. Rest easy honey.
I always loved watching Cloris Leachman. A great star. And how beautiful she was on that night.
Just watched that film for the first time. Both her and Ellen Burnstyn were great...but Cloris definitely deserved it. The final scene was excellent. She had a great, long career and I'm happy she was recognized with this (acting's most prestigious award).
How graceful and smiling, beautiful vibes ♥️.
She's Grandma Ida on Malcolm in the Middle
Cuteo05 Yep.
Maxwell’s Nanny Clara on The Nanny
Incredible
Omg I was trying to remember which show I seen get on.. rip
And Beverly Ann Stickle
i really love her smile!!!
What a great acceptance speech! A beautiful human being, inside and out.
❤️ me some Cloris Leachman! Rest In Heaven and thank you for all the LAUGHS you have given me all the years! 😢
Even standing beside the spectacular Raquel Welch, Cloris is STILL so freakin BEAUTIFUL.
From Oscar winner to The MTM Show to Phyllis, that great scene (among others) in TLPS, got her this award. Amazing performance.
She was 46 in this clip. CL looked 32 physically.
Cloris has large beautiful smile!!!
Wow. She was a babe. May she rest in peace. 'Loved her in Beerfest.
The Academy seldom gets it right. They did here. A simply magnificent performance in 'The Last Picture Show'
Wow! What a knock out! So beautiful at 45!
