I was on the road in Scotland when I first heard this song. When I left my dad was not doing too good. Mary G sang to me over my facebook feed in a small rented room in Fores. It was a good thing I was alone when she did. Dad made it thru it that time...he is 90 years old now,,,a very nice rendition of a should be classic.

I saw Joe Crookston for the very first time in Sugar Grove, Ohio last night. Can't believe that I've missed his music all these years. And this song? I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME I LISTEN TO IT!!

Very well done, nice job making it about the song and not about you singing the song....unlike the other guy that does this song all over the place.
He rushes the lyrics without letting the poignancy of them sink in.

Nope, you have a good voice but you didn't do this song any justice, your guitar playing is too busy it takes away from the song, sorry but that's my take on a beautiful song !
