this show was probably the best marching performance ive seen, from all the bands and other acts. you guys deserve every bit of praise you get. CONGRATS TO ALL!
Its amazing that videos of this Tattoo are out here already. Because of restrictions on US service bands to make commercial CDs or DVDs no items are made for this Tattoo that has run for many years now. This is the King's Guard 2nd visit to the Tattoo. They are a class act, and very popular in all the Tattoos these days. In comparing videos I have of them over the years I can see that they are jazzing up their routine more now. Its still great, but another departure from past traditions.
This is the best example that I have seen of their incorporating the sounds of the drill team as a musical element. Splendid performance, very impressive!! HM should be proud. Also, a very good drum break (w/visuals). Edges out the Marine Band's drum break, which was also very good. Gr8, your aunt did very well!!!
Being one of the drummers standing there in the middle (at 4:34) when half of the band comes walking past you and hearing the brass and the immensely cool drumbeat coming from the other side, and having the drill team going in a circle around youit was an amazing feeling. Even though the only thing your concentrating on is fastening the snare and preparing mentally for the drum stunt.
Strålende! Veldig solid og kraftfullt. Gleder meg til 17. mai og satser på midtparti og speildrill da ;) Vær stolte av dere selv, dette er utmerket representasjon av Norge. Mvh Eikeseth (Drill 2006)
Nice show. The guard was clean. Musically, I've been more excited about their choices in the past. Nice touch at the end with "When Johnny Comes Marching Home." Yeah, I couldn't believe how quick that drummer drew the spare stick from his strap. Way to go guys!
Yeah, he seemed a bit confused afterward, but they recovered well though. Same thing happened to us in NMT 08, the trick is to keep your mind off it so it doesn't affect the rest of the drill. But that's hard to remember sometimes when you're standing in front of 10 000 people. :-p
You could hardly notice that one of the drummers dropped his drumstick, took a while before i noticed that. Lokks like he picked out a spare from his shoulder. Smoth moves :)
What is the name of the song that the talented young woman sings? This was an amazing experience to work with this band. I hope to work with them in the future!
@@Coldstreamer17 yeah a blank shot can be harmful, but they only tend to happen when you bump the stock on the floor, and at that point you allways have the mussel pointed upwards and never anything directly infront if it. So i think its not likely to harm anyone. But it might ofcourse harm him if he is unlucky.
Når jeg ser på disse opptakene, er jeg alltid i ærefrykt. Treningssjefer kan være stolte av å ha så dyktige soldater. Jeg kan bare gratulere dem.

Your Aunt rocks. The whole show was great and Norway was my favorite part.

My brother is playing the bass drum, i'm so proud :')

I hope you all know that these are 12 month conscripts from a very small country...
I am so proud!

That drummer is very, very sneaky! Nice recovery.
The 'Gael' regardless who plays it, is one of the most fascinating piece of musical composition.
alwilliam Hes very sneaky, I would never trust that guy with anything.

Absolutely incredible!!
Merci pour ce pur moment de régal.
My friend will be performing in the Tattoo this year. I think she's in the group the Williamsburg Heritage Dancers.
I was at this. it was even more impressive live.
actually, we were told to get it a bit longer. This vid is from one of the first shows. After this we added the 180*
Gael er så fantastisk!
My NJROTC class, drill team and marching band for my school are going to the 2011 one

Chestband actually. They have 2 spares.
The move from 2:18 through 2:36 is almost like an optical illusion!
What is the name of the song that the talented young woman sings? This was an amazing experience to work with this band. I hope to work with them in the future!
Ahh, thanks. Do you know if there are videos of the real deal?
Really smooth ^^ they have spares on their chest in case they break one or drop them.
En svært godt gjennomført drill!
what is the name of the march after the guardsmarch?
Does anyone know the name of the song that starts when they put the flags on their rifles? From about 6:30 and out.
Where is the song at 6:38 from?
It sounds like it came from a movie or something
the added it later. ;)
That's because it was last rehersal before the Tattoo ;-)
Where is the non rehersal video?
@ineedmoreram Thanks, mate! ;)
perfect and safe
"Under the double eagle" by Franz Josef Wagner.
tett program. Kan jo ikke regne med at HMKG tar hele tattoo'en heller da! ;)
Sånn er det alltid!
scary that one of the rifles went off acidently!
Overall great show!
you dont have to be scared, they are only blanks (no bullet)
in my opinnion they are allowed to drop sticks because they play horrible hard stuff;)
ah thank you, its unterm doppeladler, an austrian march :)
GO jj :)
its a drill b4 the real day:)
one of the guy's guns went off early jesus.. (even though it was a spare) it would have really hurt him..
*even though it was a blank
