    About that copper thing from $80.- try later a copper pipe cut it in the right size. Copper cleanse water also all algae especially when the water is not streaming also good for drinking. It also has healing properties. Look into copper mug and bracelets and electro culture! Copper does a lot more!! And its much cheaper. Thanks for this video. I forgot about this. And that chlorine puck is a good one!

    I’ve had my pool for 21 years. Tried poolrx for the first time this may. It’s late August and haven’t seen any algae. Usually I get a little mustard algae here and there. Works for me, hopefully no harmful chemicals.

    You should always check your copper before you use it.
    1. Make sure filters are clean.
    2. Put in pump basket
    4. Run for 4 hours.

    My plaster got stained with a blue hue because of high copper. Please be aware of this product. I did everything that needs to be done before using it. Even bought new filter cartridges.

    Now if you have a chlorinator (10 tablets), do you add the poolRx while there’s Chlorine as well?

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  2 роки тому

      Howdy, partner! I’d recommend you read the specific instructions to be sure, but I think you would just add the PoolRx as normal to keep algae under control. Good luck!

    Did you ever need to scrub black algae after installing PoolRx? How long after installing PoolRx before you started noticing the black algae clearing up. Thanks.

      Hey partner! I’ve used this twice and always scrub any existing black algae that is there before the initial application. Should any algae show back up down the road, it should be much less. Without this product I was battling black algae blooms on a weekly basis. With it, there is hardly ever anything visible. It’s been good for me, but I don’t work for PoolRx and can’t promise anything. Just passing along a trick I learned. Good luck!

      @@MRGREGSHOWTO PoolRx adds copper to the pool. Yes, it will kill algae, but then you are left with copper. Copper isn't great to have in your pool in my opinion - it can discolor plaster and hair and isn't great for kids. The attraction of PoolRx is that it does solve the algae problem quickly, but if you just kill the algae the right way by scrubbing the algae to break its protective layer, then SLAM the pool and scrub again throughout the SLAM (and complete the SLAM to the end), you will be done with black algae for good. It is a tough algae to kill because its roots burrow into plaster, but it can be done. Then you just maintain water chemistry and you should be good. Pool Rx is tempting though because it's easy, but there are side effects.

      Slam does work, but your pool is out of service for almost a week and if you’re a busy parent with a full time job and have a troublesome pool, all it takes is letting chlorine drop down to 0 for a few hours and now you have to slam it again. I kept it good for about 4 months but I’m back to algae producing a thick layer every day even with high levels of clorine. Family is in town, don’t have time to slam, put one in yesterday and the pool looks like it did when I slammed it. Maybe I’ll go back to no copper after they leave but it is difficult for me to be perfect with chemicals. I lose track of time and forget when I last added chlorine. We had a pool when I was younger and it was much more forgiving. A little more chlorine would fix a pool starting to green but this one is different
